There are under 500 for "William Long."
George Tiller, of course, was the Kansas abortion doctor murdered Sunday morning by a man who allegedly had political and religious motives.
William Long was the 23-year-old military recruiter murdered Monday morning by a man who allegedly had political and religious motives.
Are there 14 times more stories about George Tiller in Google News right now because Tiller's murder occurred approximately 24 hours before Long's?
Will there be approximately 7,000 references to William Long in Google News 24 hours from now?
I'm not holding my breath.
Postscript dated 6/2/09, 11:37 PM Eastern: As I add this postscript, it's approximately 24 hours after I posted the post above, and thus now time to see how many references to "William Long" will appear on Google News. If the number of news articles referencing William Long approximates 7,000, I will have been unfair. Checking now... the answer is... there are 949 references to "William Long" on Google News. A search for "George Tiller" finds 8,561.

Those murders are equally disturbing to me. Such violence acted out of such hatred. Sickening.

Here is a person who claims to follow the teachings of self sacrifice, peace and love but makes his living by sacrificing a child on the alter of selfishness called Feminism. Feminism is the epitomy of hate, it is an ideology of hate, it demands the death of another to proclaim it's freedom. As to display it's depth of hate, it even dehumanizes it's victims by claiming the child is not human thus calling it a fetus, a lump of flesh.
It just goes to prove that walking into a Church no more makes one a Christian than walking into a garage makes one a car. We should not be surprised that an evil person uses the guise of church member to cover their evil, Dennis Rader, the BTK serial killer did exactly the same thing...He was a one time president of the Lutheran Church council.
To say the least, his death leaves me rather conflicted, Tiller lost his final opportunity to turn from his evil and become a free soul to walk the path to whom at best he only gave lipservice by attending a church. On the other hand, he is only one of the 6,849 people who died that day (2.5 million each year) in the US, and his life is supposed to be more significant than any of them who were probably less infamous? To the degree he did evil, good riddance to him. As to advocating the killing of Tiller there are far worse things than death, it is written: "Vengence is mine says the Lord, I will repay." It is not for us to advocate or carry out the killing of another, that duty belongs to the Judge of all the Earth, the Living God.

I knew it would be what it is regarding the msm...disgracefully.

Any church would be open to him if he sought redemption or wanted to change, but there's no evidence that he was at all personally troubled by his evil occupation, in fact he seemed to revel in it. I don't know how long he has belonged to that church, or what the pastor thought of his membership. The pastor's disapproval may have been known to all, and perhaps they just didn't feel they should give up on him and throw him out. I could be cynical and suggest that he bought off that particular church just as he did Sebelius.

Our churches are sick because they have accepted the leaven of liberalism. They want to be relevant and in the name of relevancy they want to be liked by the world at large. It's called pleasing man. Why would anyone go to a church whose function has been hijacked to please man and not God? Why would I want to be part of a religious group whose righteousness is of oneself and not from God? Feel good liberalism is all about self righteousness, and you will notice that their righteousness is based on the condemning of others via victimization and not the forgiveness given by God. This is why liberal victimization is a heresy.
One example, you may have noticed that women's groups have divided the church into abusers and non-abusers with their victim based bigoted DV preaching. How is it that some churches are filled with single and divorced mothers? Why would a male want to attend such a hate fest other than to proclaim his own self righteousness that he supports the preaching of women's victimization? Is it really any stretch of the imagination that Tiller's church received him with open arms as an abortionist since they accepted the heresy of liberal victimization?
The churches are sick because they have forgotten that it is sinners who are in need of forgiveness and not the self righteous. Self righteousness is a covering for evil because to be self righteous is to deny you have committed sin and fallen short of the glory of God. Remember the story of the Pharisee and the sinner praying!
