NBC Correspondent's Shorthand for SB-1070: Arizona's Nazi Law
Borrowing the phraseology of left-wing bloggers, NBC Justice correspondent Pete Williams has (so far) thrice invoked Nazi terminology to describe SB-1070, the Arizona immigration law that continues to be the object of liberal scorn.
The first reference occurred today during the 10 a.m. EDT hour of "Jansing & Co.," when Williams called the state measure the "show us your papers law."
Moments later, Williams led the top of 11 a.m. EDT hour of "MSNBC Live" by repeating the "show us your papers" line.
The NBC correspondent took a break for about an hour before rephrasing the legislation during the 12 p.m. EDT hour as the "round up the usual suspects law."
In using police-state nomenclature, Williams joins an exclusive club of liberal bloggers whose cognitive abilities are limited to comparing the Republican Party to the Third Reich:
On the Huffington Post, one creative headline reads: "Arizona's SB1070 Gestapo Law Reveals Right Wing Version of 'Liberty.'"
On the ACLU of Nevada's site, the liberal attorneys employ esoteric legalese that would send Justice Scalia scrambling for the nearest thesaurus: "Arizona's 'show me your papers' law dealt a stunning blow."
Over at Firedoglake, one blogger triumphantly trumpets: "Obama DOJ files suit against Arizona’s 'show me your papers' law today."
With the rest of the day ahead of him, Williams has plenty of time to think of fun, new ways to repackage his Nazi propaganda.

Last week we were racists.
This week we are Nazis.
Note to NBC; the same old slurs are becoming rather stale. Why don't you come up with something new for a change.
It would be funny if they weren't serious

Many of the same idiots who oppose this "Show Your Papers" bill voted to - and will no doubt vote again to - extend the Patriot act.
Somehow, giving them the authority to break into my home without a warrant, riffle through my papers, confiscate any guns I own without charges, and never have to answer for it ... sounds a lot more like 40s Germany than checking that someone pulled over for traffic violations or arrested for crime - is in the country Legally.

You are being a too sensitive about language like "show me your papers."
Lighten up. Quit being so ready to be offended. You are acting like the professionally aggrieved liberal elites.
BTW, as I recall, before joining NBC, Pete Williams was a long-time aide to that noted left-winger: Dick Cheney.
TSA to Americans: Show Us Your Papers!

It's amazing how people pick and choose which identity laws are are worthy of derision and which are not. I mean, really, where's the complaints against the federal government's TSA requirements for everyone to show their identification prior to even entering the boarding ares of a commercial airport, let alone boarding a commercial airliner.

...Blame the DNC talking points. There's no other explanation other than these guys getting on camera and saying to their director, "Line, please."
Not only that but ....

In news stories about the Supreme Court upholding Arizona's worker sanctions law, almost no media outlet is reporting that the law was signed by a democrat, then-governor Janet Napolitano. The worker sanctions law was a bi-partisan law ..... written by a republican legislature and signed by a democratic governor, but who does CNN quote in the story? Republican governor Jan Brewer, who was only secretary of state when the law was signed. It's another attempt to make Republicans anti-immigration and Democrats, pro-immigration. And, on CNN's website, under the story about the worker sanctions law, they use a photo of a police officer checking what appears to be "papers" ... ironic because police have nothing to do with the worker sanctions law .... it is enforced by the county attorney's office (in each county), police have nothing to do with it.
Facts do not matter to

Facts do not matter to liberals. Democrats shamelessly Keep people including illegal aliens addicted to their programs (welfare, food stamps, unemployment benefits etc.) while they wait for their vote, telling them "republicans don't care about you! we care about you, see here is some more food stamps/welfare/social programs/etc. and by the way, you can cross that little ol' border anytime you want to just don't forget who let's you do it. (wink wink) Giving them no incentive to be here legally nor to EARN anything for themselves
True, but republicans have an opportunity here ....

Illegal immigrant labor will most likely go down in history as an evil akin to slavery. The degradation, abuse, exploitation and the disregard for their workplace safety that many of these illegal immigrants are subjected to is horrendous. These immigrants are lured here by criminal smugglers (who also abuse, exploit and often kidnap them) who talk them out of their lives savings and then hand them over to farms or companies where they are further abused. Someday, our children will ask why we did not stop it. There is clearly a right and wrong on this issue and republicans need to start talking about the human side of illegal immigration and the companies that abuse illegal labor. They need to talk to break out of their bubble and talk to some of these folks who were smuggled here in the back of a trailer or forced to hike through the desert with a bundle of marijuana on their back, talk about the abuses they face in farm field across this country. Democrats like to think they are on the right side on this because they don't want to appear racist, but while they are doing so, these folks are being exploited and abused. Just like with civil rights, dems are on the wrong side. And just like with the civil rights era, republicans need to stop being so sensitive and reactionary and start talking about how these folks, minorities, are abused and exploited. it's the only way to win the argument.

Feel the same
Submitted by grammajane on Thu, 05/26/2011 - 3:56pm.
I feel the same as a previous post. Am so sick of these buffoons referring to Republican Americans as racist, nazi's, Sr. haters, children haters, war-mongers, rich and stingy, who don't care about anybody. Do these fools realize they are speaking about over 50----60% of the people who live here? Has anyone ever heard a conservative speak on the air or TV the way that buffoon Schultz and Matheews do daily? Think not!! The racist issue will again be the main topic during the next two years coming from nbc/msnbc. Just stop!! Get some new writers and focus on what is best for America. Stop the BS....No one cares what you say and we have newsbusters, Rush and Fox to drown you out.
Band together

Arizona, Texas and other states really need to band together like they did for the health care lawsuit and fight this downright rotten skunk-sweating dictatorship that is residing in the WH.
We also need to take our country back from these liberals who would have us believe the US Constitution is old hat and archaic.

Godwin's Law

Urban Dictionary:
A term that originated on Usenet, Godwin's Law states that as an online argument grows longer and more heated, it becomes increasingly likely that somebody will bring up Adolf Hitler or the Nazis. When such an event occurs, the person guilty of invoking Godwin's Law has effectively forfeited the argument.
Pete Williams will soon be
Submitted by ant on Fri, 05/27/2011 - 2:32am.
Pete Williams will soon be moving from his gated community to live among the persecuted in the barrio and wait for the expression of gratitude he receives as an American gringo. I'll be waiting. What would be great to see, would be guys like this not be able to get a job in broadcasting because it went to a low-wage 'immigrant'. I'd bet their position on the issue would change.
