Israel-Bashing Filmmaker to Receive Honorary Academy Award
If the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences goes ahead with its plan to award French filmmaker Jean Luc Godard an honorary Oscar on Nov. 13, Hollywood will be celebrating a man who defends Palestinian terrorism and who regularly equates Israel with Nazi Germany.
The filmmaker, renowned for his avant-garde “French New Wave” films, has described Israel as “a cancer on the map of the Middle East.” He has also suggested that the Jews murdered during the Holocaust had actually committed suicide in order to arouse international sympathy and bring about the formation of Israel.
Benjamin Ivry has a great post detailing some of Godard’s most egregious comments at the Jewish Daily Forward:
“Godard, as [his biographer] Antoine de Baecque observes, justifies every act of Arab resistance, including terrorism, by saying that ‘Israel is a paradoxical form of Nazism’s historical resurgence.’ In a 1970 short documentary filmed for German TV, Godard brandished a tract with the slogan “NazIsrael” emblazoned on it and told the cameraman, ‘Write us a check from German television, which is financed by Zionists and that idiotic Social Democrat, Willy Brandt, and that will let us buy weapons for the Palestinians to attack Zionists,’ as de Baecque further recounted.”

“In a 2009 article in Le Monde, “Godard and the Jewish Question” by Jean-Luc Douin, Godard is quoted as making an off-camera comment during the filming of a 2006 documentary: ‘Palestinians’ suicide bombings in order to bring a Palestinian State into existence ultimately resemble what the Jews did by allowing themselves to be led like sheep to be slaughtered in gas chambers, sacrificing themselves to bring into existence the State of Israel.’ Godard apparently believes that Jews committed mass suicide during the Holocaust in order for Israel to be created. The same article quotes him along these lines: ‘Basically, there were six million kamikazes’ and ‘Hollywood was invented by Jewish gangsters.’ At least Godard cannot accuse the American film industry of being ungrateful gangsters.”
The Forward submitted some of Godard’s troubling statements to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and received this response: “The Academy is aware that Jean-Luc Godard has made statements in the past that some have construed as anti-Semitic. We are also aware of detailed rebuttals to that charge. Anti-Semitism is of course deplorable, but the Academy has not found the accusations against M. Godard persuasive.”

Is Helen Thomas, Barack Obama, or Rick Sanchez narrating? That's gonna be a hoot. Those poor nazi's.. err.. muslims. All they want is peace, bathing in infidel blood.
So, the way I've been seeing this stuff for the past few years, there are some commonalities that I've noticed. Writers, Producers, Artists, Actors, Poets, Lawyers, News Media(aka Actors), Government Entitlement workers, and pretty much anyone that doesn't make anything tangible, seem to have this same kind of belief system.
It's like they are completely and hopelessly detached from reality. I guess lying for a living really does warp your soul. I don't mean that in an insulting way. I mean they literally lie and decieve you for a living, and are content with that. I think people that get into those lines of work have some serious issues to deal with.
I've just keep seeing a direct correlation between a person's job and how completely insane they are. But it also applies to people that make stuff. I have yet to meet a liberal Farmer, or highly functioning IT worker, or carpenter. It's never happened. And if they are american progressives, they suck at their jobs in those fields because they have no grasp of reality. And BS don't fly when you're making a product or building a bridge.
Anyway, it's just an offhand observation.

in the Army, I trained with many NATO troops stationed in Germany.
Germans, Italians, Brits and Israelis.
There were no finer people to be training with than the Israelis. We always heard the stories of how everyone around them is against them. This was back in the late 80's to early 90's and into Desert Storm.
I don't recall the Israelis taking hostages and blowing up planes for "Allah" or "Jihad". They are a peaceful people, but don't take any crap from the hostile countries around them.
What's interesting is I don't see the Israelis saying they want the rest of the world being more "Jewish" compliant and wanting the US to change it's Constitution to accomidate it's lifestyle like the MUSLIMS are doing... (yes Joyless and Whoopie-do i said Muslims).

Jews don't proselytize. It's not a part of Judaism. In fact,"proselyte" is the koine Greek term for Gentiles living in Israel in the pre-Christian era, many of them interested in learning the practices of the Jews.. Over the year, the term was transferred from the stranger (Gentile) who listened to the believer who preached. In any event, Judaism is not oriented toward seeking to convert non-Jews.
Christians are mission-oriented. Christ's commission to the Apostles, to "go and convert all nations," is a major proclamation. Many medieval Christian churches in Europe were decorated with scenes of the Commission. The whole practice is called evangelism, the public preaching of the Gospel. In themodern world, there are street-corner preachers with bull-horns, televangelists, tent preachers, and missionaries to other countries.
Islam (which is translated as "submission") seeks to subdue all to the will of Allah and his Messenger. Those who do not agree to convert to Islam are relegated to a secondary status. In the past, especially in the centuries after Muhammad lived, Islam was spread by the sword throughout the Middle East and across northern Africa, into Spain.

The fact of not seeking converts makes Judaism essentially harmless. (To others. It also keeps the number of Jews low.) The Druze similarly believe they were selected and are not to grow by attracting converts. They are known for their loyalty to their host countries. As with Jews, this is a defensive measure.

This demonizing of Israel reminds me of what the NAZI's did pre-WWII and during WWII. Strange how socialists never fail to be Satan's tools in persecuting the Jewish people. Elia Kazan deserved the award. People like Nick Nolte, Ed Harris, and Richard Dreyfuss are foul Leftist children for their protesting of Kazan. For pete's sake, Warren Beatty, Meryl Streep and Debbie Allen stood and clapped, and they're Right Wing paragons.
Jean Luc Godard is an America hating pig. Look at his filmography and read his words/thoughts. He is the Left's pig and they love him with all the Anti-American gusto a Leftist can muster.
Godard has often spoke of his disgust with Hollywood and the Academy Awards. Given his decades of diatribe on these subjects, I would think he won't show. Maybe he'll send a pretend Indian to accept the Oscar like Brando did.

Of course, seeing that this Goddard fella is on the side of the Papist Church on this issue probably doesn't surprise me. Then again, maybe it does. The Papist Church is just as much a natural enemy of the Jewish people as Nazis and Islamo-Nazis. If Goddard is on the side of the Papist Church, then I might just have to metaphorically flush him down the toilet with the rest of this anti-Jewish refuse.
