About Me
- Profile
- "On the edge of intelligence, though, there lingers a fringe of intuition, vague and effervescent, that is man's saving spark." -Laurence Leamer "Man has to work. He must strive to live." - Barry Sadler I live in Southern California. I was born with Phocomelia, a result of thalidomide. I studied Art and Design at Judson School under Curtis Stahr. I majored in Commercial Art at Los Angeles Harbor College. I went on to California State University Dominguez Hills, where I studied Computer Science. I started working at the age of 12. I mowed lawns and washed cars in the neighborhood where I grew up, in Wilmington, CA. I ran the movies on Friday and Saturday nights at Judson School. I worked at Harbor Hardware for a year. While I attended college, I was a tutor, note taker and researcher for other students with disabilities. I've been a housepainter and supervised developmentally disabled adults in a sheltered workshop. I worked for 19 years in various capacities in the Space and Defense and Information Technology fields. I broke my right shoulder in a downhill skateboarding accident in 2005. The same year, I was permanently laid off from my job. Due to mobility problems resulting from my broken shoulder, I chose to retire in 2006. Now I devote myself to my children, my wife, Scouting and my parish. My passions are creating unusual pieces of art and jewelry, photography, leather crafting, studying costumes and historicl fashions. I enjoy living history, backpacking, fishing and working in my shop.
