Ron has worked in radio and TV news for more than 30 years. He was a journalism major at Brigham Young University, and began his career in the late 70's as a host of his own radio shows in Southern California and Salt Lake City.
Ron's first TV job was as a general assignment reporter in the early 80's at the ABC station in Salt Lake, then anchored news and sports in Yakima, Washington at the NBC affiliate. In 1984 Ron moved to Las Vegas where he was the sports director and anchor at the ABC station. In 2003 he was moved from sports to morning news anchor where he took the newscast from 4th place to number one by being real, conversational, and honest with the viewers.
Over the years Ron covered major international sporting events and news stories in one of the most fascinating cities in the world. From Mike Tyson to Steve Wynn, from Super Bowls to casino implosions, Ron has covered it all.
Ron has interviewed many political figures, from Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin to Harry Reid and George Soros.
Ron is still very much involved in the media as a host of a radio show in Las Vegas and owns his own media relations company. Ron owns and runs the popular Las Vegas web site, LocalsLoveVegas.com. Ron also provides video commentaries for www.Liberty.com. You can e-mail Ron at ron@Liberty.com.
