- I am a retired, widowed grandmother in my 60's with 2 grandchildren in public school. One is a 7th grader and the other other one is in 2nd grade. This is the first time they have gone to a public school. Before that they went to a private school. The cost became too much for my daughter and son-in-law to handle due to both of their work hours being cut back.
