I have been an academic librarian since 2004 and a recovering conservative since 2008. In January 2008 I had my fingers crossed, hoping against hope that Obama might have some actual substance to him, but before the end of February I knew better. As it happens, 2008 was also the last year (go figure) that I received an annual merit increase in pay. Overall, I'd have to paraphrase the sentiments of Ronald Reagan and say that admitting you're a conservative is the most liberating thing you can do. That said, I find NewsBusters to be a fresh breath of air--indeed, I quite often have to remind myself that I'm *not* reading "The Onion."
