Chris Wallace Denies Joe Scarborough's Claim He 'Loathes Mitt Romney'

By Noel Sheppard | December 11, 2011 | 13:58

Joe Scarborough on MSNBC's Morning Joe last week claimed that Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace "loathes Mitt Romney."

On Fox & Friends Sunday, Wallace denied this (transcript and commentary follow with video courtesy Johnny Dollar, relevant section at 2:45):

Fox's Chris Wallace Hits Santorum from Left on Gays in Military

By Brad Wilmouth | October 09, 2011 | 21:37

On today's Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace devoted the last five minutes of a 13-minute interview to sparring with Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, as the Fox host challenged the former Pennsylvania Senator for his opposition to gays serving openly in the military.

After playing a clip of Santorum from a recent debate arguing against the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Wallace began the exchange:

Maddow Consistently Incapable of Distinguishing Few From Many

By Jack Coleman | September 27, 2011 | 16:17

Rachel Maddow should never be put in charge of crowd control. Not until she learns to count.

Maddow is clearly flummoxed by what actually constitutes a crowd, as can be seen in her commentary on audiences at Republican presidential debates. (video after page break)

Fox's Roger Ailes: 'Every Other Network Has Given All Their Shows to Liberals. We Are the Balance'

By Noel Sheppard | September 26, 2011 | 08:15

"Every other network has given all their shows to liberals. We are the balance."

So said Roger Ailes in a profile written by the Daily Beast's Howard Kurtz Sunday which also included the Fox News chairman taking a shot at MSNBC's Joe Scarborough:

Wallace Shows Cheney the Today Show’s ‘Investigate Cheney’ Protest Sign

By Brent Baker | September 05, 2011 | 00:57

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace displayed to former Vice President Dick Cheney how NBC’s Today show on Tuesday had ended Matt Lauer’s interview with him by pulling back to highlight an Amnesty International protest sign (“TORTURE IS A CRIME: INVESTIGATE CHENEY”) in the crowd on the street.

Wallace wondered: “What do you make of that? I mean, I somehow doubt that if Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama were speaking, they would have taken the shot and then suddenly a person with a sign would have been putting their picture up. I mean, simply, do you think there is a liberal bias in the mainstream media?”

Mark Halperin Declares Romney Winner of GOP's Iowa Debate, Gives Gingrich C+

By Noel Sheppard | August 12, 2011 | 09:21

You really have to wonder what debate Mark Halperin was watching Thursday evening.

Appearing on Friday's "Morning Joe," the Time magazine and MSNBC political analyst declared former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney the winner of the Republican presidential debate in Iowa, and actually gave former House Speaker Newt Gingrich - who many thought stole the show - only a C+ (video follows with partial transcript and commentary):

Leave Flakes at the Breakfast Table

By Kathryn Jean Lopez | July 02, 2011 | 09:00

"Are you a flake?"

With that question on "Fox News Sunday" to Rep. Michele Bachmann, Chris Wallace may have given a rallying cry to the new feminist revolution in American politics. Except the f-word will likely be nowhere in evidence.

Wallace apologized, and in a sense the whole kerfuffle is over -- but only for him. He was only hitching onto the mainstream media's presentation of Bachmann, as a dim bulb, leaving the three-term congresswoman and former tax attorney to have to explain to him "I'm a serious person."

What Was Chris Wallace Driving At?

By David Limbaugh | June 28, 2011 | 17:00

I was disappointed that Chris Wallace asked Michele Bachmann whether she is a flake, but Wallace's behavior is hardly the most important issue involved. What he was trying to get at is another matter.

It is no secret that a good number of people regard Bachmann as a loose cannon who is given to gaffes and hyperbole. And it's not just Bachmann.

With Chris Wallace’s Help, ABC and NBC Paint Bachmann as Fact-Challenged ‘Flake’

By Brent Baker | June 28, 2011 | 08:29

All three broadcast network evening newscasts awarded full stories Monday night to Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign announcement, with ABC and NBC unable to resist pouncing on Chris Wallace’s “are you a flake?” question to frame their stories. ABC’s Jonathan Karl highlighted how she’s “been accused of being loose with the facts, saying, for example, that the President's last trip to India was costing taxpayers $200 million a day. That's why Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace says he asked her” the “flake” question.

On NBC, Kelly O’Donnell also played the Wallace clip before focusing on how Bachmann “has been embarrassed by a string of factual errors, like placing the battles of Lexington and Concord in the wrong state. She missed the mark again in our interview, bringing up an unrelated and incorrect claim about her hometown.” (That would be about John Wayne’s birthplace.)

Jon Stewart Responds to Chris Wallace By Calling Fox News Crybabies

By Noel Sheppard | June 28, 2011 | 01:30

In the past nine days, the comedian most revered by liberals as the nation's top political satirist has devolved into a gross, unintelligible caricature of himself.

So hell-bent on attacking Fox News has the "Daily Show" host become that on Monday he continued to put words in Chris Wallace's mouth while appearing completely oblivious to serious investigations going on in Congress (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Bill Kristol Ribs Chris Wallace for Asking Michele Bachmann if She's a Flake

By Noel Sheppard | June 26, 2011 | 19:52

Fox News's Chris Wallace on Sunday actually asked Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann if she's a flake.

Possibly feeling the question was a bit over the top, the Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol during the panel discussion segment of "Fox News Sunday" ribbed the host saying, "You can call me a flake if you want" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Chris Wallace Strikes Back At Jon Stewart: Hannity and O'Reilly's Viewers Better Informed Than Daily Show's

By Noel Sheppard | June 26, 2011 | 12:22

Chris Wallace told Don Imus Thursday he intended to fully respond to the fallout from last week's interview with Jon Stewart.

True to his word, at the conclusion of the most recent "Fox News Sunday," Wallace struck back at Stewart's claim that Fox watchers are the most misinformed media viewers by demonstrating that folks who watch "Hannity" and "The O'Reilly Factor" were actually better informed than "Daily Show" viewers (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Chris Wallace: Jon Stewart 'In Denial About Bias of His Program and Mainstream Media'

By Noel Sheppard | June 23, 2011 | 15:33

It's been four days since Chris Wallace and Jon Stewart squared off on "Fox News Sunday" and people still can't stop talking about it.

FBN's Don Imus brought it up with Wallace Thursday, and the FNS host said of Comedy Central's feature attraction, "I think he lives somewhat in denial about the bias of his program and of the, more importantly, of the mainstream media" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Jon Stewart 'Apologizes' For Calling Fox Viewers 'Misinformed' By Listing FNC's Own Miscues

By Noel Sheppard | June 22, 2011 | 00:45

Real men know how to apologize for their mistakes, especially when made on national television.

Apparently we can't put Jon Stewart in this category, for after acknowledging that the fact-checking organization PolitiFact found his statement to Chris Wallace concerning "misinformed" Fox viewers false, he proceeded to childishly spend three minutes listing all the times PF determined FNC's comments were likewise (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Juan Williams: Hannity Would Have Been Fired For Doing Amos and Andy Voice Like Stewart

By Noel Sheppard | June 21, 2011 | 19:55

As NewsBusters previously reported, Jon Stewart earlier this month did a segment on "The Daily Show" wherein he impersonated Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain using an Amos and Andy voice.

On Tuesday's "Imus in the Morning," Fox News's Juan Williams said that if Sean Hannity had done that, "He'd be out there barking with the dogs after they threw him out" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Monday appeared to be the day that MSNBC commentators bashed the ratings of Sunday political talk shows other than NBC's "Meet the Press."

After Chris Matthews ridiculed ABC's "This Week" despite it having more than three times his audience, Lawrence O'Donnell went after Chris Wallace and "Fox News Sunday" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

PolitiFact Agrees With NewsBusters: Stewart's Claim About 'Misinformed' Fox Viewers 'False'

By Noel Sheppard | June 20, 2011 | 19:14

There are certainly going to be a lot of very disappointed Jon Stewart fans when they hear the fact-checking folks over at PolitiFact found their hero to have been false when he accused Fox News watchers of being "the most consistently misinformed media viewers."

Jon Stewart Tells Chris Wallace Fox News Is Biased -- But Rest of Media Aren't

By Noel Sheppard | June 19, 2011 | 12:35

After months of being asked, Jon Stewart finally appeared on "Fox News Sunday" this weekend.

The primary discussion point was bias in the media which the "Daily Show" host continually told Chris Wallace is far more prevalent on FNC than at all the other news organizations (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Juan Williams Spars With Chris Wallace Over Public Support For Afghanistan War

By Noel Sheppard | June 12, 2011 | 21:49

Fox News haters love to advance the myth that the network pushes exclusively conservative views and the anchors surround themselves with right-leaning yes men who never question them.

On the latest installment of "Fox News Sunday," liberal political analyst Juan Williams challenged host Chris Wallace's view of the public's support for the war in Afghanistan leading to a humorous exchange (video follows with transcript and commentary):

During a Sunday segment about former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's interview with Chris Wallace earlier in the day, a picture of Tina Fey impersonating her nemesis was accidentally placed in the upper-right corner of the screen:

But it is somewhat unseemly when one of the President's top advisers and campaign manager does it in front of Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

George Soros-funded Group Cherry-picks Chris Wallace to Smear Fox News

By Noel Sheppard | March 07, 2011 | 11:09

Two weeks ago, George Soros went on CNN claiming that Rupert Murdoch and Fox News are like Nazis dangerously trying to deceive the American people.

On Sunday, an organization that Soros funds attacked Fox News by cherry-picking 53 seconds from an almost 12 minute segment to make it look like host Chris Wallace and the network he works for support the disgusting views of the Westboro Baptist Church (videos follow with transcripts and commentary):

ABC’s Outrageous 1991 Undercover Probe of Crisis Pregnancy Centers

By Stephen Gutowski | February 18, 2011 | 14:32

Given the reactions of the left to both the Acorn and Planned Parenthood stings you might be surprised to learn that  Eyeblast.tv has uncovered a nearly identical sting, at least in terms of tactics, against crisis pregnancy centers that ABC News did back in 1991. Apparently back then the Left had zero problems with undercover video investigations aimed at proving a political point. They were also perfectly fine with showing just how much contempt they had for the “bad guys” they recorded. [Video follows page break]

In fact, Chris Wallace’s entire ABC report is drenched in condemnation and outrage. What exactly did these crisis pregnancy centers do that was so worthy of ABC’s attacks? Well, as far as I can tell, the overarching criticism is that they don’t want women to have abortions for various different reasons that ABC doesn’t agree with.

Krauthammer Attacks Media's 'Bogus' Call for Civility: Where Were They When Bush was Being Called Hitler?

By Noel Sheppard | January 21, 2011 | 10:09

Charles Krauthammer on Thursday attacked the media's recent bogus call for civility in politics.

"The worst in uncivil discourse that we have had in the last decade occurred in the Bush years when the President was vilified, attacked, he was demonized, compared to Nazis," he told Chris Wallace on Fox News's "Special Report." "I do not remember the Times or the mainstream media all of a sudden wagging a finger and pulling a chin about the rise of uncivil discourse at the time" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart Attacks MSNBC Again: 'Honestly, that is Double-A Ball'

By Jeff Poor | November 04, 2010 | 13:46

There seems to be a schism between two of the media giants that lefties hold in high regard – the entire MSNBC network and Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart.

After Stewart took a few jabs at MSNBC during his Oct. 30 Washington, D.C. rally, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann took umbrage at the equivalency Stewart drew between his network and the Fox News Channel. In Olbermann’s view, Fox News Channel is a source of evil in the world, while MSNBC is a source of good. However, Stewart, who admittedly sees things from a liberal worldview, questioned MSNBC’s role in damaging political discourse.
