Michael Moore: America 'Founded on Genocide and Built on the Backs of Slaves'

By Noel Sheppard | January 21, 2012 | 14:19

Schlockumentary filmmaker Michael Moore said recently that America was "founded on genocide and built on the backs of slaves."

This disgusting statement was made at the same January 12 Symposium on Poverty at which he claimed older whites who didn't vote for Barack Obama in 2008 were racist (video follows with transcript and commentary):

But only some riches bother the Occupiers, who have ignored the massive wealth of celebrities in their own ranks.

Michael Moore Absurdly Claims He Would Never Question a Republican's Patriotism

By Matt Hadro | December 07, 2011 | 13:41

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore claimed on CNN Tuesday night that he would never question a Republican's patriotism and love for country, although he has done all but actually say those very words in the last decade.

"I would never question a Republican of whether or not they loved America or whether they were patriotic or whatever," Moore claimed innocence on Tuesday's Piers Morgan Tonight. "I would assume that they love this country and I assume that what they're doing is what they believe is best for the country." [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

Yet Moore's past words belie his present claims. Just last year he linked the catastrophic death toll of the Haiti earthquake with what would be a "Republican paradise" of no building codes and regulations there.

Yearning to join the wealthiest one percent of Americans? You may already have -- and not even know it.

Hard to believe such a thing is possible but MSNBC morning anchor Thomas Roberts ran a segment Wednesday about that one percent so reviled by Occupy squatters co-opting public property for their private use around the nation. (video clip after page break)

By Noel Sheppard | November 07, 2011 | 09:15

Multimillionaire Occupy Wall Street supporter Michael Moore told protesters in San Francisco last month that the movement has its roots in Army Private Bradley Manning passing top secret classified information to Wikileaks.

So enthusiastic was the crowd on hand that they voted to rename the area they were occupying Bradley Manning Plaza (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Michael Moore Ignores Questions About His Wealth At Occupy Portland Event

By Noel Sheppard | November 01, 2011 | 00:16

Although he sort of admitted last Thursday that he's part of America's richest one percent, schlockumentary filmmaker Michael Moore clearly wants to hide this inconvenient truth whenever possible.

This was perfectly illustrated Monday when he refused to answer questions about his wealth at an Occupy Portland rally (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Michael Moore: OWS Isn't Violent, It's the Police Who Are Rioting

By Matt Hadro | October 26, 2011 | 15:34

Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore dismissed the accusation that some Wall Street protests have grown violent, telling CNN's Piers Morgan on Tuesday that the "Occupy" protesters are, in fact, "a nonviolent peaceful group" and the real rioters are the police.

"There's no violence coming from the 'Occupy' protesters," Moore insisted. "What we've – what we've seen across the country are a series of police riots, where the police are rioting, where the police have gotten violent." [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

Michael Moore Accidentally Explains How He Benefits From Capitalism

By Matt Hadro | September 27, 2011 | 14:59

Michael Moore didn't believe his work benefitted from capitalism – but then explained exactly how capitalism spurred his success. In an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan on Monday, the liberal filmmaker questioned the notion that his work benefits from capitalism.

"In a way that is capitalism. I mean you've got a business," Morgan told him. "Is it really?" Moore answered. He then inadvertently defended the free market.

PBS's Smiley Asks Michael Moore If Obama Sees the 'Venom, Vitriol, Vulgarity' of the Right

By Tim Graham | September 21, 2011 | 12:31

PBS talk show host Tavis Smiley interviewed Michael Moore on Monday night, and it wasn’t hardball time. Smiley asked: “What about growing up in Flint allowed you, moved you, in the direction of being the humanist that you are?” He also explicitly compared Moore to Martin Luther King, both seeking a “vocation of agony.”

But Smiley stayed true to his record of whacking President Obama from the left, asking Moore if he is finally seeing the light about “the venom and the vitriol and the vulgarity of the enemy that he’s up against?” Smiley isn't looking in the mirror. He means the conservatives.

Michael Moore Describes Himself as 'Bigot' Against Wall Street

By Brad Wilmouth | September 15, 2011 | 07:43

Appearing as a guest on Wednesday's Colbert Report on Comedy Central to plug his memoir, Here Comes Trouble, left-wing film maker Michael Moore used a provocative choice of words to describe his feelings toward Wall Street and conservatives who oppose regulations against businesses as he declared that "I'm a bigot against people like you that support Wall Street and corporations..."

Moore seemed to play along with host Stephen Colbert's regular shtick as an exaggerated conservative commentator, since the liberal activist smiled and laughed during much of the segment as he sparred with the faux-conservative over corporations.

Below is a transcript of the relevant exchange when Moore chose to describe himself as a "bigot":

NYT Book Critic: Michael Moore Belongs on Same Shelf With Thomas Paine

By Clay Waters | September 14, 2011 | 15:45

The front of Wednesday’s New York Times Arts section featured Dwight Garner’s review of the new book by left-wing documentary film-maker Michael Moore, “Here Comes Trouble -- Stories From My Life.”

Garner, a fan, called Moore (infamous for his anti-conservative conspiracy theories and vicious, purposely misleading mockery of Republicans) a “necessary irritant,” and in one nauseating paragraph suggested Moore’s book belonged alongside works by the revolutionary founding activist Thomas Paine.

Michael Moore Claims Fox News and 'AM Hate Radio' Encouraged Violence Against Him

By Kyle Drennen | September 13, 2011 | 12:14

Appearing on Tuesday's NBC Today to promote his autobiography, left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore decried "the amount of hatred that was generated on a certain news channel and on AM hate radio" against him, insisting: "They daily encouraged people to essentially commit acts of violence against me." [Audio available here]

Moore leveled the charges in response to a question from fill-in co-host Savannah Guthrie about his 2003 Oscar acceptance speech that devolved into a rant against President Bush and the war in Iraq. He continued to defend those comments: "I said we're going to war for false reasons and there are not going to be any weapons of mass destruction....what I said was accurate and true, but it generated such an enormous amount of – to where they had to hire security for me and everything."

Ten Years After September 11: Recalling the Outrageousness of the Hollywood Left

By Rich Noyes | September 09, 2011 | 10:22

Ten years after the attacks of September 11, it’s worth recalling how the immediate reaction of some on the far Left was to blame the United States foreign policy for instigating the attacks, and how various Hollywood celebrities spent the remainder of the decade trashing the War on Terror and likening the United States to some sort of Nazi regime or police state. Some even promoted wild conspiracies that the United States government had participated in the attacks themselves, or was sheltering terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

Here, culled from the MRC’s vast archives, are 25 blood-boiling quotes showcasing the Hollywood Left’s outrageous take on the War on Terror over the past ten years, with links to several videos:

'Lifelong Catholic' Michael Moore Bashes Pro-Lifers as 'Really, Really Weird...Uterus Police'

By Tim Graham | September 05, 2011 | 14:17

When the Washington Post promoted snippets from Michael Moore's forthcoming book on Sunday, they portrayed Moore as a "lifelong Catholic" -- which is a bit of a strange label when a paragraph later, the Post was bashing the "uterus police" who oppose abortion as "really, really weird."

But then, the "Catholic" blurb the Post picked let Moore imagine himself as a playwright composing an "avant-garde" version of Jesus dying on the cross, where he lectured like a liberal about how nobody else had compassion for the poor, the sick, and the downtrodden:

Michael Moore Threatened Bill Hemmer: My Family Will Come After You

By Tim Graham | September 04, 2011 | 07:56

The Washington Post promoted Michael Moore's latest book in Sunday's Outlook section. Justin Moyer's promotional piece was headlined "We read so you don't have to," but it reads like a cover blurb. He called him a "reliable liberal gadfly," which is apparently what the Post calls someone who thinks Cuba had a lot to teach the United States. Just "liberal"?

Moyer plugged the book, "to be released later this month to a nation always ready to laud or excoriate him." The "highlights" begin with Moore threatening the safety of Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer:

Uh-oh, Mrs. Obama: Brian Williams Loves Arby's, Skips Vegetables

By Tim Graham | August 16, 2011 | 15:39

The women's magazine Marie Claire didn't only interview (in her case, badger) Fox's Megyn Kelly. They've published interviews with five powerful women in TV news, starting with Subrata De, a senior producer for NBC Nightly News.

When asked what it's like to work for NBC anchor Brian Williams, she said he's "wickedly funny," but "I just wish he'd eat a vegetable every now and then. When we're on the road, we often have standoffs over fast food versus healthy food. He usually prevails, due to sheer stubbornness. Somehow, we always end up at Arby's."

Invoking Michael Moore, CNN Asks Panel Who to Arrest In Wake of American Credit Downgrade

By Matt Hadro | August 09, 2011 | 18:17

Referencing Michael Moore's absurd tweet that President Obama should arrest the CEO of Standard & Poors for downgrading America's credit rating, CNN's Kyra Phillips actually asked her panel members who they would like to see arrested in the fallout of the downgrade.

Whether or not the question was serious, Moore's tweet was. On Monday he implored President Obama , via Twitter, to "show some guts" and arrest the CEO of Standard & Poors. "These criminals brought down the economy in 2008& [sic] now they will do it again," Moore tweeted.

'Undefeated' Receives Unflattering Treatment from Entertainment Weekly

By Aubrey Vaughan | July 20, 2011 | 14:49

After Entertainment Weekly graciously gave grades of B+ to Michael Moore's 'Fahrenheit 9/11' and A- to former Vice President Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth,' EW's John Young has bestowed a much different treatment on his review of the new Sarah Palin political documentary, 'The Undefeated.'

The conservative documentary, which successfully opened last weekend in limited release, was given a snarky review under the headline "Sarah Palin's 'The Undefeated': We saw it so you don't have to!".

Flashback: MSNBC Hosts Called Bush Fascist, Murderous and War Criminal, Never Faced Suspensions

By Geoffrey Dickens | June 30, 2011 | 11:50

On MSNBC you can call a sitting president a "murderous" "fascist" even muse about putting the President on trial for war crimes, so long as that president is a Republican. But if you dare call a Democratic president a "d–ck," as MSNBC analyst Mark Halperin did this morning it's grounds for indefinite suspension.

While calling any president the D-word is probably not showing the proper respect for the office, it has to be asked where does it rank compared to essentially accusing a president of mass murder and war crimes?
