By Noel Sheppard | January 29, 2012 | 13:33

Ben Stein Argues Against Claims Middle Class Hurt by the Wealthy

By Brad Wilmouth | December 22, 2011 | 08:48

Supposedly right-leaning actor, economist and former Nixon speech writer Ben Stein of late has become famous for advocating for higher taxes on the wealthy, but on Wednesday's The O'Reilly Factor on FNC, Stein was finally seen arguing from a conservative point of view again as he debated David Callahan of the left-wing group DEMOS, and argued that taxation rates on the wealthy are not to blame for the economic problems of the middle class.

By Jack Coleman | November 11, 2011 | 17:06

Whatever delusions it takes to get you through your day, Ed.

Nearly six months after he smeared Laura Ingraham as a "talk slut" and "right-wing slut," liberal loose-cannon Ed Schultz still harbors a grudge about it. (audio clips after page break)

Delusional Ed Schultz Claims GOP Rep. Wants Media Censorship of Wall Street Protests

By Jack Coleman | October 11, 2011 | 16:38

The inevitable question about radio blowhard and MSNBC action hero Ed Schultz -- is he dense or dishonest? That he's both is also a distinct possibility.

Schultz piously fulminated against Republican congressman Peter King of New York on his radio show yesterday for suggesting that public policy enacted in response to mob demands from the streets, as occurred during the '60s that liberals still consider so groovy, man, isn't such a great idea (audio clips after page break) --

Ed Schultz -- Who Called Laura Ingraham a 'Slut' -- Complains Sen. Scott Brown 'Has Degraded Women'

By Brad Wilmouth | October 07, 2011 | 07:59

During the "Psycho Talk" segment of The Ed Show on Thursday, MSNBC host Ed Schultz complained that Massachusetts Republican Senator Scott Brown "has degraded women" as he highlighted liberal criticism of Senator Brown for a joke he recently made about Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren.

[Yes, the same  Ed Schultz who was briefly suspended earlier this year by MSNBC for calling conservative radio host Laura Ingraham a "right-wing slut."]

Schultz noted that Brown is the successor to former Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy, as if to suggest that he were a disgrace to the former Democratic Senator.

CBS: Attkisson 'Unavailable' For Further Interviews on 'Fast & Furious'

By Matthew Balan | October 05, 2011 | 16:01

Mark Hemingway of The Weekly Standard reported on Wednesday afternoon that he had attempted to interview CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson about her dogged coverage of the ongoing "Fast and Furious" controversy, but was told that she was "unavailable." Attkisson has been the sole journalist on the Big Three networks regularly covering the story, particular during the past several weeks.

Hemingway described in his blog entry that he called CBS News to interview the correspondent, but was "told by CBS News senior vice president of communications Sonya McNair that Attkisson would be unavailable for interviews all week. When I asked why Attkisson would be unavailable, McNair would not say." On Tuesday, the reporter revealed on Laura Ingraham's radio show that Obama administration officials had "screamed and cussed" at her over her coverage of the story.

CBS Reporter to Ingraham: Obama W.H. 'Screamed and Cussed at Me'

By Matthew Balan | October 04, 2011 | 18:06

CBS's Sharyl Attkisson revealed on Tuesday's "Laura Ingraham Show" the extent of the rage directed at her from the Obama administration for her reporting on the "Fast and Furious" controversy: "The DOJ woman was just yelling at me. A guy from the White House on Friday night literally screamed at me and cussed at me." Attkisson also stated that "they think I'm unfair and biased by pursuing it."

The journalist appeared on the conservative talk show host's program at the bottom of the 9 am Eastern hour to talk about her latest reporting on the growing Justice Department scandal. She highlighted on Monday's "CBS Evening News" that "new documents...show Attorney General Eric Holder was sent briefings on the controversial 'Fast and Furious' operation as far back as July 2010. That directly contradicts his [May 3, 2011] statement to Congress."]

O'Reilly Tells Ingraham NBC's Todd Worked for Lib Senator, 'His Wife Makes Living Working for Democratic Party'

By Noel Sheppard | September 11, 2011 | 23:34

The story broken by NewsBusters last week involving Chuck Todd saying NBC's pollsters were "concerned" about President Obama's poll numbers has brought some scrutiny on the Peacock Network's chief White House correspondent.

After radio's Laura Ingraham questioned Todd about this issue Thursday, Fox News's Bill O'Reilly brought her on his program Friday saying, "We did a little research on Mr. Todd...His wife makes a living working for the Democratic Party. There is a report that Chuck Todd actually worked for Senator Tom Harkin, very liberal Senator from Iowa" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

By Noel Sheppard | September 08, 2011 | 17:15

As first reported by NewsBusters, NBC's Chuck Todd told Brian Williams Tuesday that their network's pollsters were "concerned" about President Obama's recent poll numbers.

When this came up on radio's "Laura Ingraham Show" Thursday, the host said to Todd, "I don’t remember you saying that pollsters were concerned about Bush’s poll numbers dropping" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Rep. Charles Rangel Dismisses Laura Ingraham as 'Just A Pretty Girl' on O'Reilly Factor

By Kyle Drennen | August 20, 2011 | 11:00

Appearing on Thursday's O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, Democratic Congressman Charles Rangel slammed fill-in host Laura Ingraham: "Let me say this. That Bill O'Reilly told me he had a secret weapon, I didn't know it was just a pretty girl that he would bring in." Ingraham responded: "That's very condescending, sir. A pretty girl. These are serious questions." [Audio available here]

Ingraham was questioning Rangel on whether or not President Obama's economic policies have benefitted minorities. The New York Congressman dodged such questions as he continually blamed Republicans for unemployment remaining high.

Laura Ingraham Presses George Stephanopoulos on ABC's Smutty AM Music Acts

By Tim Graham | August 18, 2011 | 12:20

Since conservative talk-radio star Laura Ingraham confronted NBC morning co-host Matt Lauer on NBC about the sleazy acts the Peacock Network booked for its summer concert series, Ingraham applied the same scrutiny when she interviewed ABC Good Morning America co-host George Stephanopoulos on the first hour of her radio show Thursday. She asked about their booking the group LMFAO for today. (That's short for "laughing my f-----g a-- off.") George touted they "scrubbed their lyrics" for the ABC show.

The ABC host was more contrite about Nicki Minaj, who had too much of a breast pop out on the August 5 edition of the morning show. Stephanopoulos said GMA has a delay button, but the producers "missed" their opportunity to keep ABC decent. It sort of a made a mockery out of the song Minaj sang. It's called "Where Them Girls At." (One of them girls was breaking out.)

Bachmann Is Latest Target in Media's War on Conservative Women

By Erin R. Brown | August 10, 2011 | 11:35

Liberal bias is rampant among the media, but there is no more tangible example of it than in how the media treat Conservative women. The most recent cover of Newsweek features a very wide-eyed Michele Bachmann, looking surprised and unattractive. Perhaps more disturbing is the caption Newsweek placed below the presidential candidate's photo: "Queen of Rage."

Bachmann, an attractive 55 year-old mother of five, is a three term member of the House of Representatives, constitutional conservative and prominent voice of the Tea Party movement. But if you get your information from liberals or the mainstream media, you might know her as 'crazy,' a "zombie" a"phony-ass broad" and a "skank."

MRC Study: ABC, CBS and NBC Cast GOP as Debt Ceiling Villains

By Geoffrey Dickens | July 27, 2011 | 08:46

On Election Day 2010, then-CBS Early Show anchor Harry Smith posed a hypothetical question about newly-elected Republicans to Ann Coulter: “There’ll be a routine vote, for instance, to increase the debt ceiling and the Tea Party guys are going to say, ‘Over my dead body,’ and the government comes to a screeching halt. Then what happens?” The conservative author confidently predicted: “Well, the media will blame the Republicans.”

And that’s precisely what has occurred. A Media Research Center study of the Big Three network evening and morning programs finds that, when it came to assigning blame for lack of a debt ceiling resolution, ABC, CBS and NBC’s coverage has placed the overwhelming majority of the blame on Republicans’ doorstep.

Bill Maher: Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham Were Invited on 'Politically Incorrect' as My 'Foils'

By Noel Sheppard | July 26, 2011 | 22:39

The arrogance of Bill Maher, as well as his ability to revise history, knows no bounds.

On MSNBC's "The Last Word" Tuesday, the "Real Time" host told Lawrence O'Donnell the reason he invited conservatives like Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, and Grover Norquist on his hit show "Politically Incorrect" years ago was to act as his "foils" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Bozell Column: Ingraham vs. Cultural Blight

By Brent Bozell | July 23, 2011 | 07:33

Laura Ingraham calls her newest book "Of Thee I Zing" a “comedic intervention” on the sorry state of our popular culture. It begins with a declaration of independence from the moral soup in which we swim: “When in a coarse state of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the bonds between themselves and the cultural blight degrading the Republic...they should declare the causes that impel their separation.”

Ingraham's willingness to mix it up on the culture is refreshing and was apparent during her book interview on NBC's “Today,” where she underlined to Matt Lauer that Today's "own" Summer Concert Series included vile artists like woman-battering singer Chris Brown and F-bomb-dropping “artists” Enrique Iglesias and Cee-Lo. How big are these cultural icons? Ingraham and her collaborator on the book, Catholic TV journalist Raymond Arroyo, were amazed at what they thought must be the new homelessness on the streets of New York, but then realized people were camping out two nights early to acquire a choice spot to witness Chris Brown perform on NBC.

Laura Ingraham Slaps Down Matt Lauer's Demand for 'Shared Sacrifice' on Taxes

By Kyle Drennen | July 12, 2011 | 12:17

In an interview with radio host Laura Ingraham on Tuesday's NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer fretted over the lack of a deal on raising the debt ceiling and called on Republicans to abandon their opposition to tax increases: "When it comes to taxes, this issue of revenues, is there any way this deal gets done without the Republicans compromising somewhat on taxes?" [Audio available here]

Ingraham pointed out: "...if the Republicans hadn't taken the House of Representatives last November, if the Tea Party hadn't kind of risen up and gotten all of this populist influence, we wouldn't even be having a discussion on any spending cuts." Lauer responded by again demanding the GOP give in: "President Obama talks about shared sacrifice. Where is the shared sacrifice going to come from on the Republican side?"

Vintage Ed Schultz Whine: Why Isn't Weiner Paying 'Restitution' Like I Did After Ingraham Slur?

By Jack Coleman | June 09, 2011 | 18:31

Oh the unfairness of it all, it's more than Ed Schultz can bear.

Bad enough that embattled Democratic congressman and former habitual tweeter Anthony Weiner hasn't resigned from Congress as Schultz demands. Even worse, at least from Schultz's parochial perspective, the Weiner scandal hasn't cost its namesake a dime while Schultz paid dearly for maligning Laura Ingraham as a "right-wing slut" and "talk slut."

Within one day of Schultz's smear of Ingraham on May 24, MSNBC announced he was taking an unpaid, week-long suspension for remarks the network deemed "unacceptable."

Schultz complained to his radio listeners Tuesday about what he sees as a double standard at work (audio clip after page break) --

Los Angeles Radio Host Uses Witch-Hunt Logic to Defend Ed Schultz's Smear of Ingraham

By Jack Coleman | May 30, 2011 | 11:45

How about that, he's a lawyer to boot.

Angered by Ed Schultz's quick apology and suspension from MSNBC for maligning Laura Ingraham as a "right-wing slut" and 'talk slut," Los Angelese-based radio host Bill Handel has come up with a decidedly peculiar response to the controversy.

Is there "any proof that she's not" a slut, Handel asked on his KFI AM radio show.

It was such a warped take on Schultz's remarks that even Handel's presumably like-minded radio show sidekicks didn't agree with him. (audio clip below page break).

Tantaros on Schultz-Ingraham Affair: 'Hatred Towards Conservative Women is Last Acceptable Misogyny in U.S.'

By Noel Sheppard | May 28, 2011 | 15:35

Fox News contributor Andrea Tantaros might have had the best take on this week's Ed Schultz-Laura Ingraham affair.

Appearing on "Hannity" Thursday, Tantaros accurately said, "It is the last acceptable form of misogyny in this country - hatred, prejudice towards conservative females" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Female Liberal Talk-Radio Hosts Side with Ed Schultz Rant, Against Laura Ingraham

By Tim Graham | May 28, 2011 | 07:02

On Thursday, liberal talk-radio hosts Randi Rhodes and Stephanie Miller each protested the one-week suspension of MSNBC host Ed Schultz for calling Laura Ingraham a “talk slut” on his radio show. Miller said of the S-word: “So, I wear it proudly. Some right women are soooo sensitive!”

It’s understandable Randi Rhodes might think this isn’t offensive. She was suspened by Air America for yelling that Hillary Clinton was a “big f—ing whore” in 2008. But she was really upset at the Schultz apology and suspension, insisting Schultz had used the word on her, too, and neither found it offensive:

Ed Schultz's Genuine Contrition on MSNBC Preceded by Churlish Non-Apology on Radio Show

By Jack Coleman | May 27, 2011 | 19:37

It's not often Ed Schultz earns my respect, but he did with his apology  to Laura Ingraham on his MSNBC show Wednesday night, right before starting a week-long suspension.

Based on what Schultz said earlier that day on his radio show about maligning Ingraham on the program only 24 hours earlier as a "right-wing slut" and "talk slut," Schultz's mea culpa Wednesday evening was fully unexpected.

That afternoon on the radio, Schultz was defiant and defensive and claimed Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have said things just as bad and not paid a price (audio here, video clip after page break) --

Ingraham: If Conservative Called Liberal Woman What Schultz Called Me He'd Be Fired

By Noel Sheppard | May 26, 2011 | 22:33

One of the startlingly inconvenient truths about America is the double standard by which conservative women can be treated by the media compared to their liberal sisters.

Having been seriously besmirched by far-left MSNBC commentator Ed Schultz earlier in the week, talk radio's Laura Ingraham discussed sexist and racist hypocrisies with Fox News's Bill O'Reilly Thursday (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Ingraham Hits 'Morning Joe' for Skipping Schultz in Women in Workplace Special

By Alex Fitzsimmons | May 26, 2011 | 10:30

As first picked up by NewsBusters from Brian Maloney's Radio Equalizer blog, MSNBC anchor Ed Schultz on Tuesday demeaned conservative radio host Laura Ingraham as a "right-wing slut," prompting his indefinite suspension on Wednesday.

But on "Morning Joe" today, the panelists demonstrated their devotion to equal treatment of women in the workplace with a special, "Knowing Your Worth," which Ingraham's staff noted completely ignored Schultz's crass insults.

NewsBusters Publisher Brent Bozell Reacts to Ed Schultz's Apology to Laura Ingraham

By Brent Bozell | May 26, 2011 | 09:42

Ed Schultz's apology was full, unequivocal and a breath a fresh air.

We wish Ed would have shown the same remorse when saying we should ‘rip out’ Dick Cheney’s heart, when he called Liz Cheney "shooter's little girl,” or when he said Republicans enjoyed watching people with cancer die.

Humiliated Ed Schultz: ‘Laura Ingraham, I Am Sorry, Very Sorry’ for ‘Vile Language;’ Concedes He’s ‘Embarrassed’ MSNBC

By Brent Baker | May 26, 2011 | 00:26

In full retreat, a humiliated and somber Ed Schultz opened his MSNBC show on Wednesday night by apologizing to Laura Ingraham for using, on his radio show, “vile and inappropriate language” to describe her, language he did not repeat. On Tuesday, the left-wing host had slimed the conservative talk radio host as a “right-wing slut” and a “radio slut.” (After Schultz’s statement, Thomas Roberts hosted the rest of the hour.)

Schultz pleaded: “I am deeply sorry, and I apologize. It was wrong, uncalled for and I recognize the severity of what I said. I apologize to you, Laura, and ask for your forgiveness.” He added that “I also met with management here at MSNBC, and understanding the severity of the situation and what I said on the radio and how it reflected terribly on this company, I have offered to take myself off the air for an indefinite period of time with no pay.” The official NBC management statement, however, said he had agreed to “one week of unpaid leave.”

MSNBC Suspends Ed Schultz After He Calls Laura Ingraham a ‘Right-Wing Slut’

By Brent Baker | May 25, 2011 | 19:12

As first picked up before other blogs early Wednesday afternoon by NewsBusters from Brian Maloney’s Radio Equalizer blog, MSNBC host Ed Schultz, on his Tuesday radio show carried by satellite radio, slimed conservative radio host Laura Ingraham as a “right-wing slut.”

Tim Graham’s prescient noontime NB headline: “Will MSNBC Suspend Ed Schultz for Calling Laura Ingraham a 'Right-Wing Slut' and 'Talk Slut'?”

Hours later, at 5:51 PM EDT, MSNBC issued this statement:

MSNBC management met with Ed Schultz this afternoon and accepted his offer to take one week of unpaid leave for the remarks he made yesterday on his radio program. Ed will address these remarks on his show tonight, and immediately following begin his leave. Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

After the jump, Radio Equalizer’s audio of Schultz’s May 24 remarks.
