What do y'all think of the new "upgrade" NB is instituting? I think it sucks big time, we are gonna be lost in the same 'ol same 'ol bullshit. We are (used to be) unique, apparently not so much anymore. What say you my friends?

From now on, all signatures have a little line above them and they also appear in italics. This helps them stand apart from your actual comment remarks.

Currently I am following an interesting thread and nobody wants to concede the last word. This one has the potential to go well over three hundred. It is kind of hard to follow when you don't have it all on one page Anyways can someone tell me if they have their settings on three hundred posts? That is what I have my settings on, but I am only getting 50 posts per page.

This is not a list of the lies or link to lies ( and there are a lot) or personal insults aimed at other users ( and there are a lot) This is a list of the insults aimed at the contributors, the website itself, the community here, and generally copious amounts of insults aimed at anything on the right.

Note the constant use of the word hate to describe people on the right.

Ranting on Fox News and the Koch brothers and the Tea Party - ...one right wing media source (Fox News), and a pair of anti-government billionaire brothers, orchestrated a "grassroots" movement...

This morning I viewed a banner ad for General Electric and another one for an upcoming PBS special. I wonder, does the NewsBusters site contract with an outside firm that places ads on their site, or do they accept direct advertising? Because I think it odd that an arm of the Media Research Center would knowingly accept advertising from GE and PBS. Dan Gainor, are you out there? I'll tweet you later.

I was wondering if any of the Admins have anything to say about how alaphiah is taking over the Forums with the cut and paste from his own blog. If you haven't noticed it is getting annoying to some of us that he has hijacked the forums with no repercussions.

Just wanted to let whoever needs to know, but I can no longer use IE when I access NewsBusters. I use IE9 for all my websurfing, but when I visit NB, I am forced to use Chrome. I can read the threads just fine with IE9, but when I try to post something, and I try to use the "rich text" or the "link" function, I get hung up and can't navigate away. If I make an incomplete post, I can come back and edit, but I need to be quick before someone makes a remark regarding my post. Yea, I know what some will say: About time!

There is away to bring back the wysiwyg editor for blog comments, however it will require putting the comment box on a different page than the blog post you want to comment on.

Which one would you guys prefer? Comment box on blog post right below it but without formatting or with formatting but in its own page?

When I first joined up at NB, one of the main reasons was because the community mostly posted good posts, bleeped out with %$@#$%@ their use of language, and were interested in discussions, comments and debates.

Ever since the changeover to NB2 I have noticed that some use of language has been going down hill. I don't want to sound like a prude, or to be to picky, but I would like the moderators to call out some of the worse offenses. 

I keep getting redirected when ever I try to reach it. I can get to other pages if i type it directly after the forward slash, but the home page gets redirected to some IT site. I turned off redirecting on my browser in order to see the home page but i am wondering if this is a Hijacking by some liberal loser.

Someone should look into the posting history of a NB member using the username of "russedav" (member for only 17 weeks 2 days). He may be a plant or just a zealous troll who is posting over-the-top inflammatory rhetoric like this:

It appears that the participant known as "Satchmo" is really trolling the comment sections with plenty of insults, snide remarks, offensive links and other objectional materials. It would be appreciated if consideration would be made to rid Newsbusters of this particular troll.

Links to specific posts don't work. Instead of the page going directly to the linked post, the page redirects to the homepage address (m.newsbusters.org). Even if one copied the link and pasted it in the address bar, it still redirects to the homepage.

Hating on Brent Bozell

For example, adding the letter "m" to the web address newsbusters.org becomes m.newsbusters.org. The text then takes up the complete screen. It's my understanding that the letter "m" was established for mobile phone users. It works on some web addresses, but not others. it works on yahoo.com and google.com, but not on drudgereport.com.

I took troglodyt to task on a lie about George Soros' history of collaborating with the nazis as a teenager. I showed he indeed delivered deportation orders and helped confiscate the wealth of deported jews. During my debunking of troglodyt's lie, I made the following remark.

We've created a new input format for all comments that should solve some of the formatting problems you've been seeing.

Specifically, the new settings will allow line breaks so that comments don't show up just as large blocks of text. Until this point, you've probably been seeing those breaks in the wysiwyg editor, but not in the actual comment. That will no longer be a problem.

For those who were interested in our beta testing of the improvements to the NB look and feel, please replace the old code in your Firefox or Chrome Stylish extension with the following stuff.

Note: We are still testing this stuff so it will not be perfect and may cause some strangeness on your display with fonts.

That said, you'll notice spiffier looking comments, bigger article fonts and a few other small improvements.

 

 

Is anyone else having issues when writing a post today? I keep having to hit the "Switch to rich text editor" button when I write a comment...It is not staying on rich text by itself, as it usually does...Weird.

Just wondering why it is doing this and if anyone else is having the same problem.
