Saw Church Nativity Scene With Gay Figures Vandalized [2] on Fox News.

Vandalism of a church's Nativity display that includes depictions of gay and lesbian couples was being investigated as a hate crime, police said.

Now my question is.. Was the hate crime before or after the Nativity display was "vandalized"?
