I think this site is proof
June 16, 2008 - 08:58 ET by general companyI think this site is proof that it would not need to be a very high priority

Ah yes
June 16, 2008 - 10:12 ET by 10ksnookerBut your library card will be safe ... and so will your abortion 'right'. But the rest of your rights, they will have to go.
Don't forget your hard earned money!
June 16, 2008 - 14:56 ET by Wilbur747You'll lose your right to keep what you earned in order to fund:
-efforts to slow "catastrophic" global warming.
-the UN's plan for global governance (known as Agenda 21/Sustainable Development).
-programs that "alieviate" the suffering of the less fortunate.
-the needs of newly pardoned illegals...sorry..."New Americans".
-reparations (anyone who thinks obama won't try for this is foolish).
...and hundreds of other socialist/Marxist pet projects!
BTW, I heard a 'Progressive' call it "Womens Free Rights Choice". Never say "abortion", it looks bad!
Get with the program!!! Sheez! (lots of sarcasm!) ;)
That's not how they do it
June 16, 2008 - 09:26 ET by Mike HammerHe'd try to bring it back, but I'm sure it would go through the courts instead. That way, no one could vote. That's how Democrats like to work.
FCC bureaucrats
June 16, 2008 - 09:37 ET by sarcasmoAre more pliable than courts, because if anything the FCC is even more-corrupt. And they have that same "nobody votes" characteristic beloved by control freaks.

I think if you look at
June 16, 2008 - 09:41 ET by BruzillaI think if you look at Obama's record of working with Republicans in the IL senate, and you look at how he has made changing away from the political trench warfare of the Clintons a cornerstone of his campaign, I see a trend towards being more open to criticism than most politicians. It's going to be folks like Pilosi and Reid who will try to play radio games.
Obama also spent a few years as a Conlaw prof.
June 16, 2008 - 09:54 ET by sarcasmoAnd while that in no way guarantees a respect for the entire Constitution (far from it!) he's probably ok with the actual First Amendment unless he's said something I've missed. And sadly, we can't hope for much on that score with the coauthor of a piece of garbage like McCain Feingold, anyway.

Yes but
June 16, 2008 - 10:10 ET by 10ksnookerThis time it won't work. Many will not abide. There will be lawsuits everywhere and protest to boot. It will not stand.
And lastly it will be turned against the drive-by media and newspapers, what's left of them.
Barry
June 16, 2008 - 11:55 ET by iveseenitallThe Fairness Doctrine will be the least of a free people's problems if this guy gets elected. Read history. One day the Germans woke up under the Nazis. One day the Russians woke up under Communism. One day the Japanese woke up under Imperial rule. What will apathetic Americans wake up under, one day soon?
Who is Barry Sotero?

Obama met Catro in 1984 in Cuba with Jackson
June 16, 2008 - 12:08 ET by Jack BauerJust listening to Humberto Fontova (author of Fidel: Hollywood's Favorite Tyrant) on the radio...
He mentioned that when Jesse Jackson was invited to Cuba in 1984, to meet Castro, a certain Barack Obama accompanied him.
This was a famous trip as Jackson was arm in arm with Castro chanting in orgasmistic praise for Che Guvera.
I wonder if Obama joined in the Chegasm?
Interestingly enough, 1984 was the year Obama wrote his now "hidden" thesis at Columbia on the subject of the Soviet Union and Nuclear Disarmament.
Obama refuses to release it for public scrutiny. Wonder why? Maybe he criticizes the US and sympathizes with the Commies?
Like his health records, which I read recently he has also refused to release. Not sure about that, so if anyone knows.
By the way, anyone note that on Obama's new website, being "accused" of being a Muslim is a "smear."
Huh?? Being accused -- I wasn't aware that being a Muslim was offensive. So isn't that hate speech?
I'm sure they would make it
June 16, 2008 - 12:53 ET by Chris NormanI'm sure they would make it sound like anything but the "Fairness Doctrine" - their language would be very noble and high-minded and they would deny that they were limiting speech, but rather, "enhancing it" - the "mainstream media" would defend them in their description of what they'd be doing and their intentions, and the "Fairness Doctrine" would live again.
CN -- they need to change
June 16, 2008 - 14:14 ET by Jack BauerCN -- they need to change the name to...
THE PEOPLES' FAIRNESS DOCTRINE
That sounds much more convincing and democratic
The problem
June 16, 2008 - 13:22 ET by TjexciteIt it now impossible to control. Unless they turn the US to North Korea and block all TV channels and radio station (land and satellite), turn off the internet and give the FCC control of the internet (if they could). Back when it was useful there was less channels, now if someone does not like the view of the station they can change the channel to one of the hundreds of other MSM or websites and take their money to the their sponsors. With this doctrine then the MSNBC would becomes the state media of the Obama administration what every they say is true even when they attack others.
I picked B...but I also
June 16, 2008 - 15:03 ET by bigtimerI picked B...but I also think A will attempt to pass it too...
I just heard on Rush that the AP is not going to allow bloggers use their info anymore...
Can they really do that?
I for one most of the time don't care...they are nothing but a bunch of filthy leftists with an agenda as far as I am concerned.
