August 15, 2008 - 11:07 ET by CrashHey 8%'ers, the left IS Moveon, KOS and Huffington nutroots. They hate anything remotely conservative. Look how fast and hard they attacked Joe Leiberman; to the extent that he became an independent.
Pro-life in name only or LINO's
August 15, 2008 - 11:15 ET by Dee BunkSomeone can claim to be pro-Life they just can't really be pro-life.

August 15, 2008 - 12:39 ET by Ryan Mc.Add me to that caveat. There may be a candidate that says he is pro-life but he just can't actually vote that way. They may nominate a "wink wink nod nod" "pro-life" candidate.
Is there even a Democrat
August 15, 2008 - 11:21 ET by taterIs there even a Democrat (or at least any of importance) that is pro-life?

August 15, 2008 - 11:28 ET by BlondeThe dems will do ANYTHING for a vote.
If they thought they'd gain more votes than they'd lose by selecting a pro-life VP, they'd do it in a New York minute.
And remember, the question was "would they consider"....not "would they".

But the heavens would fall
August 15, 2008 - 11:55 ET by sembyBut the heavens would fall "according the MSM" if McCain picked someone who is anti-life!
Crazy election
August 15, 2008 - 11:57 ET by cheesegraterI said that I think the Dems could consider a pro-life VP this time. I just heard Rush say that McCain is considering a pro-choice candidate for his VP. WTH?
Exactly- the question was
August 15, 2008 - 12:02 ET by conantExactly- the question was would they consider. Not only would they consider, they might even PROMISE after all they can always CLARIFY it later.
If they thought that would
August 15, 2008 - 12:41 ET by fitzfongIf they thought that would make the difference between winning and losing...absolutely. They've already elevated a pro-life Democrat to Majority Leader in the Senate...it's just that the Senate agenda has rendered Harry "the Body" Reid a PLINO (Pro-Life in Name Only). All those "Blue Dog" Democrats that helped elevate Nancy "Her Faceliftness" Pelosi to House Speaker ran as pro-lifers. The Dems ran that empty suit Bob Casey to take down Rick Santorum...to make Pro-Life moderates, liberals, anti-war and Union members comfortable voting for a Democrat. No doubt Bob "The Legacy" Casey will self-neuter when it comes to addressing this issue in the Senate...or the Schmuckster will make sure he's neutered. If they do nominate a Pro-Life Democrat as VP, no doubt he/she will be PLINO...useful for the General Election, but that will be the end of it.

Abortion is a sacrament to
August 15, 2008 - 13:43 ET by HumanEventsAbortion is a sacrament to liberal Democrats. So it would be highly unlikely. The Great Stainmaker, Algore, and John sKerry all had to change their position to "pro-choice" in order to have a shot at The White House. (Of course they all lied and said they were always that way). Pro-abortion is practically a must for the Dims.
But as has been pointed out above in several posts here, the thing that matters to Dims most is winning elections. So if picking a pro-life running mate would ever show to be politically advantageous to them, then they would do it by all means. Winning elections to them ALWAYS trumps adhering to beliefs and principles.
EXACTLY!
August 15, 2008 - 14:06 ET by CrashIt worked for Mitt Romney in Massachusetts. Dems will vote for anyone who utters the word "choice" (as in I'm too stupid to make a good choice, so kill my for me baby).
Seems like whenever I see
August 15, 2008 - 13:47 ET by deerjerkydaveSeems like whenever I see a platform or a list of what the Democratic party stands for, being pro abortion is always near the top of the list. Why this is their holy grail is uncertain to me, other than the fact that abortion is an industry that heavily funds the Democrats.
Human sacrifice to the gods of convenience is not made okay by the fact that it is done in a doctor's office.
Every pregnant woman contemplating an abortion should be forced to watch one on video so she can make an informed "choice." I've debated with libs who try to say that an abortion is not traumatic. But on the flip side they don't want women or girls seeing videos of abortions and not even receiving ultra sounds for some reason. It's because they know deep down that it is traumatic. I have a friend whose job was to console women after having an abortion. My friend quit the job because it was just too depressing.
Some wouldn't at all. But I
August 15, 2008 - 13:47 ET by balboaSome wouldn't at all. But I would. The candidate would probably have to have a lot of other positives going for him or her to get the nomination.
Yeah, a robot
August 15, 2008 - 14:50 ET by fitzfongYeah, a robot pre-programmed with all the tired DNC bullet point cliches on issues like the war, the economy, gas prices and the environment...someone who will trot out the old "this shows how our party is a big tent" platitude without directly addressing his "deeply held" opposition to abortion. Someone who will keep the obnoxious, irritating "feminists" at arm's length by repeating phrases like "selected not elected", "swiftboating", "culture of corruption", "no one died when Clinton lied", "let's end our dependency on 'foreign' oil", "windfall profits", "working families" and "tax cuts for the richest 1%" ad nauseum. Bob Casey it is, then.

Live Birth Abortion
August 15, 2008 - 14:26 ET by ScrapironTry running a video of a real 'live birth abortion' and see how many Lame Stream (democrat) media outlets will broadcast it. If it ran on national TV for 30 days there would be thousands of 'abortionist' arrested and tried for murder, but the democrats have the out of sight, out of mind, mindset. If you don't show it they can and will deny it happens. Playing the 'three' monkeys game is about to get worse.
