I have not heard ONE time any reference to the Democrat governor who refused, not once, but twice, the president's offer of assistance, assuring him that Louisiana was taking good care of its citizens. Where is this governor now? No one mentions her. You can certainly tell Mayor Nagin learned his lesson - I loved hearing, "straight to Angola" to those thinking about looting this time ;-) Isn't it amazing how things can be handled when a REPUBLICAN governor is in office!
I realize there was enough blame to go around to all last time, but the TOTAL neglect of even mentioning the lack of state and local leadership by the mainstream media is DISGUSTING!
Both Geraldo Rivera and the former Gov. of LA got their digs at Pres. Bush in on Sunday's Fox News coverage. It was shameful, to say the least. Then, the former Gov. tried to take credit for all the work that was done after Katrina to prepare for the next hurricane, basically saying that Jindal's done nothing and that anything done well this time around is due to her!
In a few hours it will be a tropical storm and the story will gone until the next "crisis" comes along. Remember, everything with the Dems is a crisis. Heck, most people here do not even board up the windows unless it is a Catagory 3 or above. We have had tornado warnings all night and today and I see my neighbors out walking their dogs, going to the store, kids on bicycles going by. Just a regular day in the Florida Panhandle.
September is going to be very active in the North Atlantic with Hanna powering up near the Bahamas and likely to make a US landfall in 5-6 days. Tropical Storm Ike was just named and Josephine is on its heels off the coast of Africa.
