Right, not soon enough. I watched the conversation about this among Bernie, Jane, and O'Reilly last night. None of them mentioned the main reason for her departure. She's a flaming "liberal" and people are sick of the left-wing crapola. They are sick of biased "news", especially when it's delivered by a 15 million dollar/yr. ignoramus. Most people are not as ignorant and stupid as the MSM think they are. And Couric is an insult to anyone with a modicum of honesty.Why don't those in the media ever get it?
And these kinds of contracts can always be shortened for the right price. I suspect expensive shysters are working for both sides on just that issue right now. I also know a way they could easily have a very entertaining newscast for about 1/10th what they were paying Katie while at the same time defusing the feminist-issue that goes with dumping Perky, but Don King's still ignoring my Hagee vs Wright Shoutoff idea and I'm tired of giving them all away for free. :)

She's not getting the result they thought they'd get but that's hardly her fault...she wasn't the decision maker. CBS was...and whoever made that bad decision oughta be leaving also...or have they already?
It's interesting that this news hits the same week that most of the lawsuit against CBS has been thrown out of court. Could this signal the glorious return of...dum! dum! dum!...Dan Rather?
By "part ways", I'm assuming you mean she won't be the Evening News anchor any longer. She may be "promoted" at CBS to "special projects" as a way to ease her out of her contract.
Where would she go as no other "network" would touch her and have her take them down too. OR is it more that she would leave the televison and the MSM all together and retire. She could not go back to the Today show and still bring in the money. She could go to The View
I figure she is on the way out. They will handle her with kid gloves though so as not to appear heartless old bastards, unlike when they had to drag Dan Blather to the back door and toss him out back against the dumpsters like an old drunk. It never occurs to them that the viewing public is fed up with the whole stinking mess. Most of these old networks still operate like they did 25 years ago, same lame format, same reporting of fluff pieces meanwhile their train is racing towards th end of the track at full speed. Real news never get reported or if they are forced to because someone else breaks a story, they put their usual spin on it, trotting a 51 year old cheerleader out to tell us stupid old "regular" people what is going on. Im sorry, she lost her "perky" a couple of decades ago. How does one retain their dignity and perkiness once they have had a colon exam on television, right at breakfast time no less. Yep, once you have "rode the silver stallion" on prime time, you ain't "sugar and spice and everything nice" no more.
