I hope he clings and fights

I hope he clings and fights tooth and nail. No telling what else may be exposed.

I picked the third

I picked the third one...he'll stay until forced out...dead or alive.

I said no, he'll never

I said no, he'll never quit. but that was just to encourage him.  Hang in there Blago, our side needs you.  Fight Blago Fight!  If he has a legal defense fund, someone let me know.  I'll chip in a few bucks.

RhB... He and his partner

RhB...

He and his partner had better have evidence if they have some of all the critters involved who are calling him crazy now and abandoning him put in a safe area that others can retrieve if something just all of the sudden happens to him.

Like Eliot Spitzer I think

Like Eliot Spitzer I think he and his attorney are trying to negotiate a plea deal before leaving.

I agree.  No doubt that

I agree.  No doubt that like Spitzer, Blag-ass will continue holding on with a blustery defiance.  But the Dems know that if he clings on too long, Obama's successor (whether chosen by the sitting Governor or not) will be damaged goods in 2010...with the caveat that Illinois is such a Blue State that it might not matter...but with the further caveat that the "culture of corruption" angle might work against Senate Democrats in other states (are you listening, Harry Reid?).  If he doesn't make a deal and resign soon, the Democrats will take him out...with a crossbow, if necessary.

Blago to the Insano

El Rushbo is suggesting both the gov and his wife(who evidently knows something, will end up being institutionalized for their indiscretion soon after the election.

I voted with the majority here and think he as a typical dem will have to be forced out. Dems just seem to be made that way. Gopers get whisked out and I guess rightly so. A lot of them folded on the Clinton impeachment  as I suspect Larry Flynt had something on the lot or Lott.

→ Ann Coulter

Ann Coulter opined on Cavuto that Fitzgerald arrested Blago, not to stop the appointment, but to avoid getting fired when the Shahinshah comes into his kingdom.

  • LYDSEXICS UNTIE!

CA... I have said the

CA...

I have said the same exact thing here and there since this happened..I still believe that...(btw, I just caught one of my fav gals too on Cavuto, what Ann said is the exact reason why I love her)

I know all about the spin with Blago naming somebody to a seat all of the sudden, plus the Children Hospital $$$ ect..but I have always thought since Acorn being investigated to-boot and Fitz being involved in all of the Chicago slime for years now, that O would fire him pronto once he took office.

going to be interesting to what he does when he does take office...

Btw...where is the chorus from the pols and the msm calling for a Special Prosecutor..like the do when the opposite party may be in trouble?

"America isn't the problem...America is the solution." ~ Rush Limbaugh

→ Fitzie's opportunity

I think Fitzgerald sees an opportunity to shine as no other prosecutor has shone before.

Equal treatment uner the law might actually come into vogue.

  • LYDSEXICS UNTIE!

Wouldn't it

Wouldn't it be a real hoot if "That One" were subpoenaed to testify on January 20, 2009?

"If we conservatives moved to those seven non-existent States, the government couldn’t find us and tax us to death!"

lmm... ROFL! A hoot

lmm...

ROFL!

A hoot indeed...of course we all know that will never happen...but it is fun to imagine.

At least

bt, at least we can dream.......

"If we conservatives moved to those seven non-existent States, the government couldn’t find us and tax us to death!"

Now unless Blago just started showing the....

...symptons of being, as all his critics are now saying, "demented", "delusional", and/or downright "crazy" since 4 November, one would think that all the other Dem politicians and MSM types in Chicago might have picked up on it, say in 1992 when he won a seat in the Illinois legislature or perhaps 1996 when he won "Rosty" Rostenkowski's old seat or maybe even when he ran for governor.

But then maybe I'm just naieve.

Been thinking...

... if the One can't even get the Governor of his own state to step down, how will that make him look in the eyes of other world leaders?

"Paper tiger" comes to mind.

Not a very persuasive guy, is he?

  The real problem is that

The real problem is that the prosecutor will have to find all the incriminating evidence on his own.  This is in Chicago.  Corruption is a way of life for the government.  In other words, there is no one without sin who can cast the first stone.

And...what is going to happen Jan 20

when 'the one' pulls a Bill Clinton and fires all of the federal prosecutors?

How do you think that will go over?  If he picks and chooses, will he leave Fitzgerald in or take him out?????????

The plot thickens ;-)

A PROUD member of the Oogedy Boogedy branch of the GOP!

CC... Exactly. It is

CC...

Exactly.

It is going to be interesting to what will happen.

Fitz knows it too...hence the Blogo situation being announced this week.

"America isn't the problem...America is the solution." ~ Rush Limbaugh

Of course

Of course everyone here realizes that ACORN will no longer be investigated after Jan. 20, 2009.

"If we conservatives moved to those seven non-existent States, the government couldn’t find us and tax us to death!"

Cape.......

I actually agree with your point here, but I have to point out, in fairness, that it would be pulling a Reagan, not a Clinton, as my favorite president actually made firing the whole lot of them a tradition.  Since then it has been performed by Clinton and Bush 43.  Obama will likely follow suit with W, firing most, but leaving in place those who are conducting high profile investigations.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. - Albert Einstein

OR....

or at least I hope he has the distance from Chicago's down side to make that decision.  With the MSMs history of covering for him, he may feel he could skirt criticism if he chose to fire Fitzgerald, but I'm not sure he's going to get the same pass he has previously seen, what with the Chicago Sun Times having been threatened, and mistreated.  The media only protects one thing above Libs, and that is their own 1st amendment rights.  Firing Fitzgerald could send a shiver down even the Old Grey Lady's Spine that might shake their loyalty to Obama.  I think this is an angle that seems to be getting overlooked.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. - Albert Einstein

Spot on, Timothy

The only thing that turns the pack absolutely rabid is when one of their own is threatened.

I've read a conjecture that Fitzgerald acted NOW to preclude his firing after Obama is sworn in.  If Obama fires him, in the midst of this Chicago scandal....all bets are off.

As I've said numerous times in the last two days, popcorn will be key.

Hi Blonde!

Long time no see!

Exactly my point, though.  I hadn't noticed anyone take up the point yet about how this all plays out considering the Sun Times threats.  I really believe that, considering this, as well as Fitzgerald's apparent "Justice is blind to party affiliation" POV (remember that this is the same prosecutor behind the Scooter Libby/ Valarie Plame investigation), Obama is going to have to allow him to continue unmolested.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. - Albert Einstein

Back at you, Timothy.

Good to see you here.

The fact that Fitzgerald prosecuted Scooter Libby (unfairly, IMO...but that's another conversation) makes him rather bullet-proof, after inauguration day.  The lefties can't applaud him on one hand for going after "the Bush Administration" and turn around and revile him for pursuing the most corrupt machine in the country.

The fact that Blago was so stupid as to threaten the press blows my mind.

I really have to laugh at BHO's attempts to shove Blago aside (as if!!!)....The One understands the threat this man represents.  Blago is a total loose cannon rolling around the deck....and while Obama may be clean and articulate and all that, he cannot continue to play dumb about his "associations" any longer.

What did you know and when did you know it?? is going to be my favorite thing for the immediate future.  Unless, of course, poor Blago blows his brains out.  But I'm betting not....he's a lunatic.

Political theatre at its very finest.  And poor Barry....wondering where his honeymoon went.

P.S.  Still chewing at those restraints?

Blonde :)

Hey, I keep hearing about this theory. I'm confused by it. Meaning, he knows he's going to be fired anyway so he's doing this no-holes barred?

You're the next contestant on...
THE MESSIAH IS... LEFT !!

Yep Shy

Here's the thinking.

Fitzgerald knows that the investigation is somewhat common knowledge amongst the Chicago mafia.  He'd like to make his case stronger, you know, more than 5 potential senators on the take (he already has Blago locked up).....BUT.

The One can, in one fell swoop, get rid of all the (troublesome) lawyers once he's actually in office.

So, in the finest tradition of the pre-empt, Fitzgerald goes public now.  Obama can't fire him, Fitzmas has come early and he has a reputation amongst the lefties as being fair and competent.  Ooops....that blade apparently swings both ways.

Obama is pretty stupid for a lawyer...he knows his people are on at least some of these tapes....whether or not they've said anything of an incriminating nature is beside the point....but The One has studied the Clinton playbook and knows no other....deny, deny, deny.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if The One becomes the only president-elect in history to be indicted before taking the oath?

Keep your popcorn drawer full, Shy.

WOW B :)

So, really, he's now got full leverage, I see. Obama can't go near firing him/letting him go or it'll be so obvious why.

But if this is a real precursor to bigger smoking-gun stuff, and Fitz certainly has a good sense of all involved, then he's really going to move on this FAST, I would think, and open the whole can now before oath time, right?

Otherwise, why would he stay during Obama's time with all of that tension? To me, I think he's got no recourse but to investigate this to the fullest, and while Ears is still only president-ELECT (before he moves into the "executive" suite and becomes more powerful and harder to pin...)

You're the next contestant on...
THE MESSIAH IS... LEFT !!

Absolutely

The investigation, as such, is more or less done.

Now it's time to haul in the subsidiary players, those who were on the tapes, to find out what they know, and when they knew it.  Get them under oath.

Rahm is suspect, of course....And Jesse Jr.'s little crying game yesterday was a hoot!  He's not nearly as accomplished at lying as his dad is....there goes all of his hope for becoming the junior senator from Illinois.  Chances are, he's going down.

And you are exactly right....I'm hoping for another early Fitzmas...strike while the iron is hot, and before The One can claim "executive privelege"....he's got jack right now.

The next week or so is going to be verrrrrry interesting.

add to that.......

that Blago is the type to throw anyone under the bus to save his butt and things could get

verrrryyy interesting  ----- and quickly!!

   What happened to

What happened to Illinois State government is that Chicago has long been the organized crime family of Good 'ol Boys machine politicians.  In the last decade or so the long standing political balance between Chicago metro and downstate shifted to the Chicago Metro area.  Now these Chicago trained politicians have tried to run the state in the same manner as 'the way it's done' on the streets of Chicago.  We've just got to thank our lucky stars that our future President was never exposed to any of this.

He fights

Can anyone begin to imagine how much fun I will have if Blago is literally dragged out of office kicking and screaming by some legal mechanism (impeachment/removal, perhaps?)

Perhaps they can pull him out of office and drag him to the front door...by his hair...as the cameras roll, before literally throwing him out onto the streets of Springfield.

Oh, a boy can dream, can't he???  :-)

Seriously: he fights tooth and nail until forced to leave.  Leftists can't figure out when the jig is up.  And even then, they still can't.

I hope he goes out kicking and screaming! Ha!

I love it when the the Democrats fight because they spare no one and go for the jugular!

These Chicago Democrats are a new hybrid of Democrat - even dirtier than Clinton, Inc.  I hope Blago names names and goes out kicking and screaming.

I wonder if this is the type of "change" B. Hussein Obama was talking about.  I always knew BHO was a dirty bird and this pre-inauguration scandal proves it.  Grrr.

What is the objective of this poll?

Who came up with this question?  Is this supposed to test our psychic powers?  Maybe respondents should be limited only to anyone who actually knows the answer - e.g. Blagojevich himself?

A better question might be "Do you think Blagojevich should resign?"  The choices would be "Yes" or "No, because I'm a drooling vegetable."

I know I'm being a bit of a pinhead, but I don't like it when the media conducts these pointless polls either.

Satire

I know I'm being a bit of a pinhead, but I don't like it when the media conducts these pointless polls either.  Part of the function of these polls is a satirical one - to point out that many of the polls done by the media are indeed as loaded, and pointless.
