The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

Although there is an overwhelming pro-bama media bias in most of the mainstream news outlets, the other thing at play is the cynical nature of the press and the desire to elicit an emotional reaction in readers, negative or positive. 

It's the same phenomena that middle school and high school students do when someone screams, "FIGHT!" Quickly a crowd forms, sides are taken and the spectacle begins. Lots of screaming and shouting as long as the participants are perceived to be "in battle". The crowd loses interest as soon as the punches stop or the principal comes and breaks it up.

The press cynically participates and tries to instigate the same crowd-drawing by twisting the report.

If it isn't a fight, then it is naked-boobies or a sex-scandal, or some other such base nonsense.

They also know that the average news viewer out there reads at the 8th or 9th grade level. The stories have to be simplified and boiled down to something below that level so they are easy to grasp and latch on by the widest audience possible. 

See the news business isn't about the news, it is about delivering eyeballs to advertisers. Fights, naked boobies, sex scandals, racism, etc, are easy marks to draw crowds.

If they delivered in-depth reporting of say, the dynamics of global macro-economics and currency exchange, they cut their audience down to 1/100 of 1% of what it is for say, "Megan Fox's naked boobies," or a more spiteful and cynical, "Tea party protesters are a bunch of n-word haters!"

If it won't fit in a 1-line text message on the average cell phone, they know it won't deliver maximum eyeballs for the next 2 minutes of commercials for beer, soap, cereal and process cheese food.

Pure-D-partisanship.

I said Partisan simply because of the 8 years during Bush.  The ideology would apply during Clinton's years, so it didn't change.

Why choose the lesser of two evils?

Wow! These labels, evoked in concert by spokesmen for (MSM and other loyalists, and BHO executive staff) and followers and admirers of the President, do bring another dimension and extend the meaning of "playing the race card", don't they?

When positive reactions toward the offender (to one signal event of "calling out" the President, done in a moment of overwhelming frustration and disappointment, because of a grossly misleading statement by the President) and the person creating the event, are disparaged in every way en masse from so many directions, are they (the royali... (oops) loyalists) indulging in the same behavior? Where IS the Civility? (Headline of an Editorial in our local paper)

There really is no rational response to this flood, is there?

That reaction is based on the following observation: When your own or someone else's ideology is based on relativistic assumptions and subjectively defined value judgements, and your opinion is the only "truth" (in which you know you can't be totally secure), then your tactics devolve to the use of words, self-defined semantics and power, but sheer facts are never allowed if they don't fit your "truth".

The point of this is, that there is no use in wasting time in arguing or debating with those who use the types of rhetoric and polemics that we are seeing right now. They (the loyalists) are going to do the same thing to anyone who disagrees or gets in the way, i.e., bully and intimidate from every corner, and hang the truth.

Our response on the words and semantics front, should be the truth, the hard, harsh, absolute truths, repeated over and over and over again, not for the benefit of the attackers, but for the benefit of those who are being attacked.

There is NO "anthropogenic" Global Warming. NONE.
