As soon as I heard the Clinton Mafia got to Wolf Blitzer, I knew it wasn't going to be a debate. This is insanity. Don't go into politics and think you can just say 'the voters know where I stand' to every question. Or, 'Thats old news'. Old or not, the fact remains that YOU are/were the CENTER of numerous investigations. But were are just supposed to forget all about that. Well, you migh have got your way with banana spine CNN, but trust me, you WILL BE QUESTIONED ABOUT YOUR PAST, AND YOU WILL ANSWER.
The Paulistinians tell me Ron Paul won the democratic debate the other day?? Good for him!! maybe the almighty Goreacle will have an epiphany and let all mankind know who the overwhelming majority of scientists support for our next leader....
I guess if the Clintonistas felt that Wolfie did a great job then he played the role of Hellary's water boy after being thoroughly intimidated by her. Nice going Lambie, you're a disgrace to the word "journalist". There will come a day soon when she won't be able to back out of a Fox debate when it's down to just two.
This is unfair. I watched part of it and I dont think anyone did very well. Not a one of them said anything I agreed with. Not one of em. So they all lost, in my view.
I agree bass, it was a pathetic display of pandering to the gimme-more base. It was a victory for socialism. I couldn't have watched as long as I did if not for the brilliant observations made by members of the NB chat that made the debate tolerable. During the chat Noel came back on and asked how the debate was going and I responded Bush was losing. Soon after, I just couldn't listen to anymore arrogance from pandering politicians on steroids and had to leave. Later, still reflecting on the debate, I got to thinking about who really was losing last night - America lost last night.
That said I strongly recommend all members give the NB chat a go next time around. There were some very insightful as well as hilarious comments made. I came away much better informed than going in (Rog's analysis of the candidates use of neocon comes to mind) and no question the commenters were much more entertaining than Hill and "the boys."
I watched 3 minutes of it -- during the question to Clinton: "Would you support bonuses to outstanding teachers"? Clinton couldn't answer that question. Instead, she said "Success is a team effort".
Typical socialist answer -- can't stand to single out good people. Want to know why good teachers leave the system? This is one of many reasons.
And this, BTW, is the teachers' union position. They've got Hillary by the ba**s -- don't diss mediocrity, or the union will turn on you.

I thought the forum was good, looked relaxed and they sat in chairs instead of behind podiums, no bells, no hard time limits....but.
If the Democrats think they are going to get elected by dissing GW et al....they have another think coming.
I really dont think people are going to buy the "regain fiscal restraint" while each candidate appears to be ready to provide "free" healthcare. How smart do you have to be to realize the two are mutually exclusive?
The things the candidates were saying, I think will make wonderful sound bytes for the Republicans in the general election.

Ask yourself: Do I want a good paying job, or do I want a government hand out. Its that simple!
My wife and I watched their party's debate for the first time and as usual, we recited their answers for them. I think Biden and Dodd did some coherent answers, although it was to the leftiods tastes. The rest of them, dodged, weaved and were robotic. Edwards and Obama were not up to their promise to turn up the heat on Clinton, and Clinton stayed "in the kitchen" and even got away with her NO answer on the illegal aliens' drivers licenses. Talking about flip and flop...
Kucinich was lost as usual and Richardson was melodramatic. Biden and Dodd made the evening lively...
It was pretty good, but ‘none of the above’ won. It was, again, a night of platitudes with no specifics.
The boys, once more, piled on Hill. The poor woman just don’t get no respect. Her answers were forthright, however, her anti-Bush mantra is getting old.
And as expected, Blitzer dutifully didn’t embarrass her by following up on some questions.
Richardson was laughable, the man who would be king Biden sarcastic, Kucinich provided the comedy relief, and Edwards has yet to find a platitude he doesn’t like.
Barring any possible planted questions, the format was tolerable.
I'm a little disappointed that so few people actually watched the debate last night. While I trust this site to give me a fair account, nothing beats watching for myself and drawing my own conclusions.
That being said, I voted for Kucinich in the pole -- not to skew the numbers or to be cute -- I honestly thought he was the winner. The man is a certifiable nut, but he and Biden are the only people with any consistency throughout all of these debates.
Kucinich had the best line from any presidential candidate, Dem or Repub, so far. When he rattled off (and I'm paraphrasing), "People on this stage voted for NAFTA, now they're against it. They voted for the war in Iraq, now they're against it. They voted for the Patriot Act, now they're against it. They voted for No Child Left Behind, now they're against it. Wouldn't it be nice to have a President who got things right the first time?"
I don't agree with the substance of most of that, but the point he's making is spot-on. All of these Dems have been spoiled in the sense that they have the luxury to change their positions. Once elected (God forbid), that luxury will be gone. These people all have a track record of making decisions that they end up regretting. Why should America trust a single one of them?
It's a shame that Kucinich's candidacy is such a joke, otherwise this completely correct attack on the entire Democrat field would get some media play. But he isn't a media darling, so it was virtually forgotten the moment he said it.
PS: I've been a NewsBusters reader for over a year, but this is my first attempt at commenting....go easy on the new guy :)
where you are coming from, but watching a group of liberal politicians arguing over who is the most socialist is really hard to watch and makes me think I have something better to be doing like sweeping out the garage, scrubbing the toilets, or changing my son's diapers.
It was on in the background at work, so it amounted to white noise for me..or should I say "gringo" noise...I digress, that's another thread.
I can tell you who didn't win the debate, that would be the American people! We will lose big time if any one of these Neo-Stalinist actually wins anything.
While I voted for Clinton on this poll, one thing is for sure... Edwars just talks too much. He had a great chance to slam the door on Hillary, but he didn't stop. He just kept talking. A moment later, here come the boos.
CBS criminal minds last season was a leftist Clintonista FBI brigade attacking most things American. This season Conservative Joe Montagne has joined the cast and the show is becoming very good.
I watched that program instead of the Wolf lovefest........as I love the FBI and it is so nice to see them portrayed as pro American this season as they are.
My husband turned it on while I was going to sleep, and the first (and last) thing I heard was, "I want to be the Education President." Nightmares ensued.
