ABC at Least Allows Other Views
October 23, 2008 - 08:39 ET by allanfABC at least lets some correspondents, Jack Tapper, Stossel and Ross wander off the reservation.
I've never had cable, and I
October 23, 2008 - 08:45 ET by mattmI've never had cable, and I stopped watching the network news (except on rare occasion) during the 1992 Clinton campaign - i.e. the network news.
I notice FNC is not on the list, it's obviously the only fair network, because it's the only one that allows the conservative point of view along with the liberal.
Ok, so I checked "I Don't
October 23, 2008 - 08:45 ET by dmntd1Ok, so I checked "I Don't watch any of those" and yet, my DVR is set to record NCIS, Criminal Minds, and a couple other sitcoms. As for news, I tend toward the UK for US news. It's often a little more interesting, and typically less slanted. scary.

October 23, 2008 - 09:33 ET by Hunter12I have a friend who also watches the BBC. He says thats the only network he's found that even comes close to an even-handed delivery of the news. I voted for the last item as well. My answer would have been more accurate if the question had been, "Which network news is the fairest?". I watch the non-news programming on these networks. I change channels when their slanted political coverage is featured in one of their self-promoting spots. Keeps my blood pressure down. I wonder if Chris Matthews has "Get Out of Taxation Free" and "Go Directly to the Head of the Medical Waiting List" cards from the Obamessiah.

I don't waste my time!
October 23, 2008 - 08:48 ET by MeanderingWhy watch biased news coverage? I could go to Russia, China or Venezuela for that. To be fair I don't watch Fox News either. I get most of my news from the internet. The most I've watched of the MSM is during the debates and the covereage was awful! Just reminded me not to watch their skewed coverage.
Why no Fox
October 23, 2008 - 08:53 ET by Mivvisnews in the poll? I guess the "I don't watch any of those" covers Fox.
I don't watch any of those
October 23, 2008 - 09:00 ET by R D HelmI don't watch any of those networks anymore.

In order for wealth to be spread, it first must be seized.
I don't watch any of those networks anymore
October 23, 2008 - 10:00 ET by Mr XI stopped watching all of them 3 years ago when I canceled ALL TV service. I did not want to support the destruction of my country by paying for TV, which is what you are doing when you write that check each month.
Best thing I ever did.
One thing I find interesting is how people whine about TV but keep supporting it. Another one of those disconnects.
Before Newsbusters and MRC,
October 23, 2008 - 09:10 ET by Dan The Man 2Before Newsbusters and MRC, I used to watch MSNBC and CNN and before cable was hooked on the Network news 1/2 hour at 6:30 Eastern. But I believ FNC takes care of most of my news needs along with NB and the leads from here. Sometimes I wonder if I should expand my horizons; if I am getting a balanced view of the world. But I do tune into NPR in the morning so yes I get a balanced diet of cream and crap, both of which float to the top.

I don't really watch TV. I
October 23, 2008 - 09:11 ET by ThatDudeI don't really watch TV. I get the majority of my news from here, Drudge, and talk radio. When I do catch the news, FOX is easily the most even-handed. They obviously lean more conservative, but report from both sides on many issues. ABC is probably the most even-handed of those listed. Jake Tapper and a few others properly do their jobs often enough to offset a slight bit of the tilt. Due to the roomie, the only channel I catch on a regular basis is MSNBC. Most of the time it's the Rachel Maddow show (gag). Naturally, I have a very low opinion of them since she is unbelievably partisan, uninformed, and consistently lies outright.
"I don't really watch TV. I get the majority of my news from"
October 23, 2008 - 09:19 ET by vrwc13Couldn't agree with you more.
My "links" bar on my computer has NB, Drudge,WorldNetDaily, and (for balance) CNN.
The "Big Three" I grew up with in my past, are just that today: in the past.
v
btw: my kids (17 down to 1) probably could not even tell you the intiails of the "three"
^^Who put out this "POLL"???
October 23, 2008 - 09:15 ET by TheSterWhere is FOX NEWS?!?!?
Is this one of them "push polls"??
Ster.
Okay, who's the jokester
October 23, 2008 - 09:19 ET by SigmundFraudOkay, who's the jokester that voted for MSNBC? LOL

It's a lesser of evils
October 23, 2008 - 09:38 ET by Matthew Sheffieldpoll here.
A long-time NB tradition.
We will practice thelesser
October 23, 2008 - 10:24 ET by Dan The Man 2We will practice thelesser of two evils Nov 4 when we choose the next President. I guess you could say the lesser of evils is a long tradition there also.
Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.
Pravda would be proud.
October 23, 2008 - 09:19 ET by ThalpyPravda would be proud. I don't have time to watch ditsy, pretty people with an IQ of a loaf of Wonder Bread tell me what I should be thinking. To me, their level of irrelevancy is immeasurable.
It's like a pretty dog,
October 23, 2008 - 10:30 ET by NorthCoastermost of the time all they are good for is hanging about looking good. Myself, I'll take a pitbull even if it comes with lipstick.
All of these adversely
October 23, 2008 - 09:20 ET by cocodrieAll of these adversely affect my blood pressure so I don't watch them. There are far too many sources for accurate news.
I'll pick ABC
October 23, 2008 - 09:24 ET by nwahsI'll pick ABC simply because its poised to move toward a Fox news type model of fairness. The United States could use a broadcast network willing to separate from the the propaganda mob. Now it could just slip back in line, but I hope that doesn't happen.
I don't watch any of those
October 23, 2008 - 09:28 ET by ConservativeRexI don't watch any of those mentioned, and haven't for probably 25 to 30 years. I don't watch any shows, news, anything on them. I barely tolerate Fox. It's even leaning too far left lately, or maybe I am just getting a tad more cranky, probably both.
If I had to choose one
October 23, 2008 - 09:39 ET by Adam_MEI'd go with ABC. Jake Tapper's blog has been one of the few bright spots amongst the drive-by coverage this election. And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't ABC the only network that's not airing the Obama informercial next week?
Regardless, all those networks are in the tank for Obama.

I can't handle the networks anymore...
October 23, 2008 - 09:44 ET by bloolooPeople like Charlie and Katie and Danny and Tommy and their ilk have totally ruined it for me. Peter Jennings was the guy who drove me over the edge... Does anyone else remember the giant map of the U.S.A. that he used to walk across when giving his political analysis during election season? What a smug b@stard he was... Always looking down his nose at Americans and telling them what's wrong with "their" country (...and this coming from a Canadian! like he was so much better!) Nowadays I only watch the nets for sports. I tried to watch Madcow on MSLSD a while back because I hadn't seen her before and I couldn't stomach it for more than a minute or so. She reminds me of the girls PE teacher from my former jr. high school (she wasn't very popular and creeped out all the girls).Oh yeah, I watched CNN when Glenn Beck was on, but, now he's gone and I can't wait for him to re-surface on FOX. I still can't believe they had him on their network!

Fair?
October 23, 2008 - 09:56 ET by iveseenitallTo use any form of the word "fair" in connection with the MSM is as ridiculous as using any form of the word "intelligent" in connection with the MSM. Really, we need to do a poll as to which station is the most biased, most stupid , most ignorant, or most dishonest.
NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"
None are fair
October 23, 2008 - 09:49 ET by KimnotaI tune in to each occasionally and none of them are fair at all.
Journalistic Special Olympics
October 23, 2008 - 09:53 ET by Anchor89Although this looks like a journalistic special olympics (apologies to those who are actually disabled), the fact that ABC lets John Stossel on the air for 20/20 wins them the gold medal.
...but I got to admit ABC did post this...

Arrogant indeed vrwc...I heard about this earlier...the man thinks and acts like he is President...he has for awhile, he just can't help himself...he is so self-absorbed it is sickening...I called Clinton narcissistic...heck, he doesn't hold a candle next the to this leftist POS.

and if you missed this one about "The One"...
October 23, 2008 - 15:54 ET by vrwc13My job this morning is to be so persuasive…that a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Barack. - Barack Hussein Obama
The word “epiphany” has a specific religious meaning and a more general one:
Epiphany (Greek for “appearance” or “revelation”), is a Christian feast day which celebrates the “shining forth” or revelation of God in human form in the person of Jesus Christ…It is also called Theophany (”manifestation of God”), especially by Eastern Christians.

are we ready for "The One"?
Not watch any!!!!!
October 23, 2008 - 10:44 ET by jbeeebI think in order to be well rounded you have to watch and read as many sources as possible, whether you agree or not. There are so many different stories out there and getting as many opinions as possible is paramount. I typically watch ABC, but will watch Fox, CBS, and CNN as well as a local newspaper and a lot of different websites. My Google personalized start page is filled with resources. It is the only way to continue to learn and grow.
Now as to the question, I do prefer ABC, and even though many feel Gibson did a hatchet job on Palin I found I didn't totally agree. The problem is I saw a lot of edited versions of the same question that may have looked bad, but frankly the questions he asked were ones that people wanted to know and I felt he had to ask. I really didn't hear any gotcha questions from him like I heard from Couric.
The transcripts
October 23, 2008 - 11:08 ET by NorthCoasterof the interviews were more balanced than the edited segment that made the Network channels in every case. No surprise there.
I picked PBS because it is
October 23, 2008 - 11:39 ET by bigtimerI picked PBS because it is the least watched as far as I know, so it probably is fairer....besides that all I can say about this polls is ARE YOU KIDDING ME...they are all about the same as far as I am concerned...all of them, with the exception of msnbc/NBC they are the worst... you didn't have Fox so...I picked what I picked.

What a strange question-------
October 23, 2008 - 12:09 ET by Roscoe MendagoI sometimes have to give some thought to how I'm going to answer one of these surveys, well, this one was a no- brainer. I can't for the life of me imagine watching anyone of the listed networks. I would have to somehow be restrained, straight jacket, ropes, padded room. I don't watch TV to just incite my own anger. Mr. Mendago watches FOX.
I don't watch the News on these guys - I watch NB
October 23, 2008 - 12:26 ET by JayTeeI do occaisionally see Alphabet network Excerpts on YouTube Or other links . . when working out in fitness Club I can only read subtitles at bottom of all the TVs Scattered around . . but only for a very few seconds before it becomes repetitive stupidity that doesn't keep my attention.
I admit it- I'm a coward and
October 23, 2008 - 12:56 ET by Tim the EnchanterI admit it- I'm a coward and a shirker. I let you guys do the heavy lifing and dirty work for me, so I don't have to watch and listen to the alphabet soup network crap.

October 23, 2008 - 13:22 ET by LorraineI don't watch TV
I voted for CBS
October 23, 2008 - 14:49 ET by delmarSince Bob Schieffer surpassed my low expectations with his moderation of the final debate.
It's not news, anymore
October 23, 2008 - 15:34 ET by jessieHJessie R. Hamby I watch Fox. I tried all the others. it's not news. it is personal opinion. There are no journalists on the others. Why should I watch & support those "idiots". They may be able to buy votes from everyone who watches their "reports", but mine is not for sale. NOBAMA!
The Old Media is dead, Long Live the New Media!
October 23, 2008 - 15:45 ET by jefflebowskiI wrote on my blog last night about the death of the Old Media during this election cycle. What little credibility they had is gone and they will never recover. As we see in the growth of visits to NB (my little blog too has grown from 8 millionth to 500,000 in traffic in less than 6 months!), more and more people are turning to the internet for news and information. I haven't watched the Old Media news in years because of the bias.
Here is a link to what I wrote. After my thoughts I linked to a fantastic article written by science fiction writer Orson Scott Card talking about the dishonesty in the media. He is a Democrat Mormon! Go figure but his article is outstanding. Give it a read.

Fairest Network.......
October 23, 2008 - 16:15 ET by nick oMan is that one telling. I submit that BMW (Brokaw, Matthews and Williams) will finish NBC/MSNBC. Add Zero Olberman and you have a recipe for a Titanic of Network failures. They act as though this isn't happening. Ignorance/Arrogance or both???
WE report, THEY(MSM)
October 23, 2008 - 17:07 ET by TN MomWE report, THEY(MSM) decide
I've noticed during this election cycle that the INTERNET Web Sites like NB get the info out to the public first, way ahead of the media. By the time media picks up on a story, they have prepared their biased talking points and scheduled their biased guest to back-up their spin; in many cases media will sit on a story if it's gonna hurt their guy, obama. But watch when a story gains interest on several online sites, the media has to pick it up. It isn't just the young who are getting their news online, I'm 48 and get ALL my news via the web, well, and FOX.
Oh, and today I canceled my hometown newspaper. It is a pretty good paper but I just can't stand to read the stories from AP; you know, calling me a racist. So long broadsheet news.
Seems to be a missing network
October 23, 2008 - 19:55 ET by Laffing at libs and leftiesI don't have cable so I can't watch the cable shows and I'd rather watch reruns than the "Big" 3 networks. :P
I'm going to venture a guess
October 23, 2008 - 21:02 ET by DarkwolfeI'm going to venture a guess that most of us either get extremely angry or sick to our stomachs trying to watch the MSM.
With me it's both, idiocy at that level is unbelievably hard to digest.
My holster is a fashion statement.
MSM knows they're failing
October 23, 2008 - 21:24 ET by TheAssessorThey know they're failing so they're going for the Enquirer brand of the MSM.. the snooze media. Where do you go when you're not reliable.. gossip, UFO's and Elvis sightings. It's too late though. They're already being flushed from American consideration.

Please, conservatives, keep it up.
October 23, 2008 - 21:37 ET by nitpickerPlease stay inside your Fox News cocoon, wrapping yourself in self-congratulatory, right-leaning misrepresentations of reality.
And we on the left will just keep winning elections. We'll call it even.

The blind leading the blind
October 24, 2008 - 09:32 ET by Mary Louise TurnerThe saddest thing of all is that millions of suckers still watch "nutwork" newscasts and read the liberal newspapers and magazines (have you seen an average magazine rack lately? The worship of Barack Obama isn't confined to the news magazines!) This is, truly, the blind (MSM) leading the blind (the mesmerized public). *Sigh*
This came to me in a dream
October 24, 2008 - 22:15 ET by Hooterville DenizenI had a dream that a new law had been passed that required “full disclosure” of bias and an announcement was required at the top of the hour of every TV newscast.
Imagine your least favorite anchor of the mis-information media looking into the camera and saying:
“As required by the Media Full Disclosure Law, I now inform you that this broadcast is composed of information gleaned only from sources that match our pre-conceived notions of this nation and its leaders. Our motto is “we decide, we report.” I, and my colleagues, favor Senator Obama, but the people who sign our checks really want him to be elected. Please keep this in mind. These opinions, posing as reporting, will be stated repeatedly until you, the viewer, have been indoctrinated in correct thinking.”
“Now, the news…. President Bush (the Ignorant), has single-handedly found the cure for cancer. He has turned over the formula to the American drug companies with the provision that they mass produce the cure and give it to all people of the world free of charge. Democrat leaders (quite rightly) decried this as yet another example of Bush and Republicans being in league with big business.
On the campaign trail…. Senator McCain spoke to a rally of 16, Bible-thumping and racially insensitive “folks” in an unknown flyover state. Meanwhile, his running mate, Governor Palin, flunked her most recent media water boarding….”
Speaking of Bush and giving cures
October 24, 2008 - 22:30 ET by RESTLESS 1I know this is off topic, but why is it that President Bush gets no credit for fighting AIDS, among other diseases in Africa, and the impression is left that clinton did so much?
Looking for an answer from a liberal on this one.

Rocker-Activist Bob Geldof praised President George W. Bush as the best president ever who has done more for Africa than any president so far.
Geldof also blasted the media for ignoring his accomplishments.
Jon Ward at The Fishwrap reported:
