I voted for Colbert...even

I voted for Colbert...even though I know he's a liberal he can still crack me up because he does that character so well.

I'd have to agree on that.

I'd have to agree on that. His delivery and timing are excellent and I still find his satire to be funny despite how he makes all conservatives look. It would be interesting to see the same dynamic from his show used to lampoon the left.

I wish we had some better choices. There are plenty of much better comedians who aren't pushing an agenda.

Already been tried...

Fox News already tried to lampoon the lefties with Half Hour News Hour and it failed miserably.

Colbert cracks me up even though its us he's poking fun at but I know its mainly towards blowhards like O Reilly and Hannity of which neither I can stand.

I voted for Dave Chappelle anyway. Colbert would've been second and all of the others would be close for third. Mainly Ferguson.

Mencia is garbage and Leno hasn't been funny for 15 years.

Do I have to vote

Do I really have to pick one of these guys to vote for??   There has to be some better comedians out ther.  Right??

It's only one about TV comedy

Hence the absence of other comics.

Could have included

Bobby Collins, John Penet or Jeff Dunham, huum?

Dennis Miller

Dennis Miller (funny political lines)

I voted for Jay Leno...Dave Letterman is normally as stupid as his stupid pet tricks, and I don't watch the others.

Yea I was looking for

Yea I was looking for Miller to, voted for Colbert, but not a big fan of any of them.

Miller is still one of my favorites.

However, of the ones that were on the ballot (was this for comics who have their own TV show?), Kimmel is my choice. His style just suits my tastes, and I love how he acts like the show is just one big ball of nepotism. Plus, anyone who follow up his (now ex) girlfriend's song "I'm *bleep*ing Matt Damon" with an equally crass "I'm *bleep*ing Ben Affleck" - and actually get Ben Affleck to star in the video - well, that's just classic.

Plus, I like that there's not a hint of political bias in his show. Just whatever's funny, whoever it may be.

Yes ...

Brian Regan is absolutely hilarious!

If you appreciate good, clean comedy, you should check him out live if you have the chance.

A younger comic, John Caparulo, is also quite funny. He's great to see live as well.

They all suck.

NO OBAMUNISTS PLEASE!

Carlos Mencia

Definitely Carlos Mencia!  LOVED his "No Strings Attached" DVD.  Similar material in "Not For the Easily Offended" but smoother and cleaned up.  A bit.

But he is across-the-board offensive and right on the money.  His segments about illigal immigration, education, and prejudice alone are great.

Carlos for sure from this list

He hits all of the PC crowd's buttons.

If you have a profanity filter on, Chris Rock's funny. 'what ever happened to crazy?' and 'nobody cares about men, you see a homeless man and his dog. Who do you feel sorry for? The dog, 'cause nobody cares about men'.

Funniest

At first I wanted an option for "none of the above", but then I picked Jay Leno. He used to crack me up when he was a guest on the original Letterman show on NBC. Now he's kinda boring.

"say what's on your mind with honesty and without fear of who you might offend."

Sounds like you'd like Carlos Mencia. He's an equal-opportunity offender. Blacks, whites, Hispanics, Islamics, Asians, he targets everyone.

yes he does say a lot of offesive(matter of perspective) things

but i just don't find him all that funny.he says a lot of hack things that you could hear going to any comedy club. i have to admire him in the way he marketed himself and succeeded very for himself, but i just don't find a lot of his material THAT original. his catch phrase, "i know what you're thinking" of course it's what i'm thinking, i've been thinking the same ideas for decades but instead of becoming a comedian in media i putzed around in the news media and then joined the military and other things and i never turned into a tv comedian. good for him on what he did but i just don't find mencia funny because i don't find him original. plus race isn't the only angle to offend people with. take james carville, that sob has a face that looks like a tomato that's been pecked at by a large bird. ted kennedy, they just found the brain tumor last month? somebody needs to be fired because they've been missing that lump for decades. nacy pelosi, i hear that old hippie still smells like patchouli 50 years later.

ps howard stern is a---i can't say the rest because i have been asked to curtain my language here and out of respect for others here i do that, but trust me i had some very graphic derogatory comments about hoo hoo howie.

Of this group, Leno is

Of this group, Leno is probably the most consistent...his talent may be diluted by the sheer volume of the material he must churn out each week, but he can still bring it.  He was best on the once-a-week Carson guest-hosting gig.  Ferguson is better as a comedic actor, Letterman is overly-reliant on sight gags, Conan has to appeal to a younger audience, Mencia and Chappelle are funny...but rarely stray beyond race and caricature humor, Jimmy Kimmel is better as a foil and Colbert's dumb-guy persona is more tiresome than funny.  The only way for Maher and funny to intersect is if the funny happens to Maher.  The next clever observation he makes will be the first.

I don't think any of these is THE funniest. But I'd pick Conan from the above group. I think Mencia's a hack.

To me, the funniest comics working today include Jim Gaffigan, Jimmy Pardo, and Brian Regan. Patton Oswalt is funny most of the time, too.

If I remember correctly,

If I remember correctly, bal, you liked Dr. Katz (as I did).  Some of my favorite comedians appeared on that show...Dom Irrera, Richard Jeni, Mitch Hedberg, Kevin Meaney, Patton Oswalt, Denis Leary.  In his day, Dennis Miller was right up there.

Craig Ferguson rocks

One of my favorite moments was when Ferguson explained why he hates having such a big mirror in his bathroom. He sleeps naked, and when he gets up in the night to us the john he catches sight of himself in the mirror and thinks, "Dad! Put some clothes on!"

I really like him too, but
