I picked Maher..but Rosie O
May 12, 2008 - 17:05 ET by bigtimerI picked Maher..but Rosie O was my second...the reason I didn't pick her first is she is just so danged dumb...so dumb I just don't consider her dangerous....she is more amusement to me...that is if I don't get so flippn' mad...lol.

May 12, 2008 - 18:51 ET by mjgI picked Maher too. I wish we could have picked 2 because Rosie would have been a close second.

That's great!
You know what's funny about that film? At this point, I really can't stand the two of them. However, as this was WELL before they became activists, I can watch that film, enjoy it, and not care a rat's bum about their politics. Know what I mean? ns
All of the above.

May 12, 2008 - 17:14 ET by Cape ConservativeYou beat me to the punch, ckc - and you know NB will never allow us that option ;-)
I picked Maher only because he has more opportunities to spew his venom - not because he was the worst.

Bill Maher is the most
May 12, 2008 - 17:23 ET by LilyPearlBill Maher is the most offensive in my opinion because of his anti-Christian stance. I am sure the others are anti-Christian, but he is the most out with it. As far as Alec Baldwin goes, I think he has the best chance of becoming a Christian and a conservative due to the influence of his born again Christian brother Stephen. My understanding from reading various articles is that Alec, Stephen, and William (another liberal Baldwin brother) really get into it and Stephen won't back down. He stands on the word of God which really galls William according to this article: http://www.out.com/detail.asp?id=23672
The best way to fight liberals is to pray for their salvation.
Tim Robin's Mom
May 12, 2008 - 17:46 ET by RiharSusan Sarandon might not have that much negative impact here but I blame her for the failure of the Speed Racer movie. Of course, the general crappiness of the rest of the movie didn't help out either. "Da**it Janet" indeed!
When a liberal speaks, the truth is busy elsewhere.

But this really is a rogues gallery of repugnant humans.
Offensive?
May 12, 2008 - 18:06 ET by GForceThe word "Offensive" is an emotion that is "caused". To be "offended" also
"causes" emotions.
The only EMOTION any of these pompous idiots bring to me is
laughter.
However, I do think the question should read,
"Which Hollywood Liberal Is Most Vitriol?"
In which case would be Rosie O'Donnell. She seems to be the one who gets
more attention by the MSMedia.
"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it"-Aristotle
It's Bab's for me/
May 12, 2008 - 18:10 ET by Davester65I actually picked Barbra Streisand. She's hardly the most prominent of this bunch, but is the most shining example of both ignorance and hypocrisy. Even that loudmouth Rosie O' does campaign against kiddy porn and at least some of the others support worthy causes on occasion, but Bab's just preaches to people about what they should do to be good little environazi's, then she does the opposite herself. What a useless has-been.
What? who made up this list?
May 12, 2008 - 18:19 ET by mandrakeWhat? who made up this list? Why no 'other' option? I'd vote for Jane Fonda..but it's not allowed.

Jane Fonda by
May 12, 2008 - 20:39 ET by stratmanJane Fonda by far.
Traveling illegally to enemy territory during war time, wearing a NVA helmut while sitting in the seat of an anti-aircraft battery that had shot down US Airmen, and the dog and pony show she submitted willingly to with US POW's, all the while bad mouthing the US Military and America wherever she traveled.
Ms. Fonda clearly aided and abetted the Communists during a time of war. Like John Kerry, Fonda (and her husband at that time) are honored by the North Vietnamese Communists to this day for their efforts in keeping NV spirits elevated to go on fighting and undermining US domestic support concerning Vietnam.
The others, while disgusting for their remarks, do not sum together the evil that Fonda helped usher in.

May 12, 2008 - 23:35 ET by jefflebowskiI agree, there is no forgiveness for what she did during Viet Nam. To me, she is the queen mother of all anti-American traitor idiots. It's not a prestigious group. It is the worst group of scum in our country.

May 13, 2008 - 00:31 ET by DarasenBarr and maher are about equal on the amount of bilge the spill. But, I find the most offensive is not on the list. John Stewart Maybe it is not his fault but that people actually watch the leftist "Daily Show" nad consider that news is truly offensive to me.
IMO, the Leni Riefenstahl
May 13, 2008 - 02:11 ET by stratmanIMO, the Leni Riefenstahl awards go to:
Special Mention - Keith Olbermann, for his outstanding junk yard dog brand of lunacy dressed up as intellectual political punditry. Cost to Americans is infinitessimal small due to his viewership of same amount. Mostly an embarrasment suffered only by like minded fools. Gets an "A-" for effort.
3rd Place - Oliver Stone, for corrupting minds with grossly embellished drama's like JFK and Nixon. Cost to American's were initial movie ticket fee, though the long term dumbing down of the population has long reaching effects still unknown. Considered by some to be the father of the modern "Truther" movement and blogs like DKos.
2nd Place - Michael Moore, for half-truthing and clear manipulation of facts which may cost Americans billions and lead to early deaths and increased suffering when care is rationed and physician stock is replaced by lesser quality candidates and mid-level providers.
1st Place - Al Gore, for legally embezelling $100 million on the greatest scam the world has known since the Trojan Horse. Trillions will be spent in a futile and hubric attempt by stupid and greedy people to control climate while simultaneously sacrificing the economy and well being of Americans. The same climate result could be accomplished on the cheap by hiring a Native American to do a modified Rain Dance. ManBearPig "super-serial" all the way to the bank.
Lifetime Achievement Award - George Soros, who modestly shuns the limelight, preferring to remain the "man behing the curtain" while guiding others to do his bidding. Rumored to have once given an apple to a young lady named Eve. Cost to the world potentially massive but calculations shrouded in layers of obfuscation.

I was thinking of you when I penned the apple/Eve line, guessing you would dissapprove. Probably the inclusion of Stone as well.
I got a hoot out of your B-minus grade! It was a dig to Olbermann that I gave him an A-minus, the "minus" used to slightly-but-surely humilliate the typical overacheiver in academia.
I gladly and humbly accept your A-plus for style and presentation. Thank you my friend! I am available to receive my Doctor of Letters from your fine institution. ;-)

Sort of like that Hamas
May 14, 2008 - 03:54 ET by stratmanA masterfully nuanced comment, insulting both of us in one short sentence! ;-)
Except for my own inglorious verbalizations over the years, I would not cavort with unrepentent domestic terrorists, marry a shrew (came close once!), hang tight with a bombastic bigot for twenty years, prostitute myself for political advancement, have a voting record to the left of Ted Kennedy or dance the funky chicken with Ellen.
I'll let you distance yourself from Hamas on your own.

May 14, 2008 - 07:02 ET by JerYeah, strat...I said to myself right after posting "nice going, genius, you just compared yourself to Hamas and your buddy to Obama.
Obviously, I only intended to note the pitfall of being "honored" by an ideological contrarian. But, I should have chosen an analogy that better served us both.

Never thought you meant to
May 14, 2008 - 10:34 ET by stratmanNever thought you meant to compare us to them directly. It was ultra late and I just couldn't resist the tweak. I meant it in jest.
Plus I felt compelled to post something about Obama's funky chicken dance somehow, somewhere, some time. He makes me think of Carlton Banks dancing in The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.
Yet, Alfonso Ribeiro is a good dancer acting as a buffoon while Obama is a clownish dancer portrayed as adept.
I get the heebie-jeebies whether it's watching Clinton play sax (like he didn't learn sax to pick up hairy beatnik chicks as Jack Kerouac's wingman), HRC downing a shot and a beer (her apparent only mixed-company talent), Huckabee play bass guitar (party on Wayne!), Obama dance (like a giraffe having a seizure) or McCain act like he's overcome his tempestuous behaviour (his apparent new parlor trick).
RRAM Tough!
I've gotta pick a nit
May 13, 2008 - 18:12 ET by ChaitealoverThe guy on the Daily Show is Jon Stewart. John [with an H] Stewart was a talented folk singer/songwriter who passed away this past January. He was with the Kingston Trio for a while, before going solo with his seminal "California Bloodlines" album in the late '60s. He also wrote the Monkees hit "Daydream Believer."

I'm Completely Unable to Choose
May 12, 2008 - 18:22 ET by geoff.galeThis list of people is just too close to call. I read one name and think "Aha, that's the scum I'll vote against", and then I read the next name and have the same thought.
Trying to choose between them is somewhat like being asked what kind of feces I want to eat. Sorry, can't choose between them either. The answer is they're all disgusting.

Shut Up and Sing!
May 12, 2008 - 18:31 ET by Philly Pete 07Honestly, is there really any difference? They are all horrible and overly obnoxious. Laura Ingraham is right, "Shut up and Sing!" Of course, in some instances, such as in Roseann Barr's case, one doesn't even want to hear that.

I picked Billy Maher only
May 12, 2008 - 18:42 ET by Trix RabbitI picked Billy Maher only because he honestly believes he is humorous and highly intelligent and he wants to make sure that everyone knows it.
His biggest flaw, of course, is that he has his head so deeply embedded in his a$$.

Had to pick Streisand
May 12, 2008 - 18:48 ET by pbthinkerI had to pick Babs, since her husband was in the Reagan film and his son is going to be in the Bush film, there's a lot of hate going on there. Some Hollywood types are just ignorant. Babs may be ignorant but she also has more money, than most.

May 12, 2008 - 18:55 ET by QueenMumI chose Sarandon - although I would have liked to see Sarandon and Robbins as a single entry. Asner and Gere don't bother me much. May 12, 2008 - 19:33 ET by harry flashman"All of the above" is not an option.
Although, of that group of useful idiots, I must say I find Gere the least repulsive and serpentine of the listed cadre.
Also agree with poster that said they could enjoy Bull Durham - but, only 'cause "Crash" Costner was riding herd on the both of them. Crash's monologue on what he believes in must've made both of them puddle their Politically Correct Pampers. Classic.
How can anyone pick just one?
May 12, 2008 - 19:35 ET by lareeOkay I find most of those folks really offensive but I will pick Jane Fonda I know that is a really easy choice.

May 12, 2008 - 20:38 ET by Noel Sheppardm,
I don't see Moore on this list. He's a different kind of Hollywoodan in my view given that he's a producer/writer/director. He's not some pretty face or pretty voice taking advantage of his "talent" to espouse his simplistic views of the world.
Whether we like him or not, what Moore does with one film takes a lot more thought, creativity, and hard work than what the rest of these dolts cumulatively have contributed to society in their entire lives. I kid you not.
Please understand that doesn't mean I like him, or his message. And, he certainly is part of the "vast left-wing conspiracy." :-)
However, he needn't be on this list. ns

May 13, 2008 - 14:14 ET by ricklailI agree about Hanoi Jane. But she has been out of the limelight so long that most people have no idea who she is or what she did. Bill Maher is as you said breathing up good air that someone else could be breathing.

They are prime for a mind-set based on the rejection or denial of reality and that pretty much defines the whole liberal agenda. The way things should be or the way we imagine them to be is so much more important than the way things are.

Bill Maher
May 13, 2008 - 09:13 ET by Tom in NCI picked him, but they are all worthless human beings with no real talent and zero intelligence, in fact I would pretty much put all of hollywood in that category with very few exceptions. I don't go to many movies anymore, I figure why waste my money that I work hard for, on this tripe.
I know boycotts don't always work but if you really are disgusted by the garbage coming out of hollywood then don't pump money into it, don't go to their movies, don't buy their DVD's, cancel your HBO, and don't buy products from sponsors of shows that are offensive.
The quickest way to shut these people up is to cut off their money and influence, after all hollywood is money driven and their products for the most part are nothing but drivel.
I can't speak for the people here but I can think of numerous other things to spend money on, such as a romantic dinner with my wife, a round of golf, vacations, etc.

Tom,
May 13, 2008 - 13:22 ET by fonzie2178To me you aren't boycotting if you make a personal choice not to support something you disagree with. It's only a boycott if you do it publicly and call on others to join you in the ruckus.
I agree, what other services/products, etc. do you pay for and get so little or nothing in return? Hollywood is a big money making scam based on the hope that somehow they can turn fantasy into real life. Hollywood types aren't competent enough to succeed in the real world so they have to make up their own. That's how you get clowns like Tom Cruise acting as a Navy pilot. Could you imagine that bozo trying to do it in real life?? ROFLMAO
