EL RUSHBO...
November 25, 2007 - 18:07 ET by danybhoyThe MSM has been losing it's grip ever since El Rushbo went national. He, along with Matt Drudge & Rupert Murdoch have figured out how to outwit the halfwits in the MSM. The MSM in turn have gone overboard to kill off these 3 media titans after trying to ignore them in hopes they would go away. I'm loving this. I love watching a guy like Dan Rather get burned, I love the NYT & other newspapers cutting jobs because the public has caught on to their bias.
Now it's really starting on GE owned news outlets. The fact that MSNBC "talent" gets rewarded for having it's @$$ handed to them in every ratings book amazes & confuses me. I love seeing the wreckage from BathTubBoy's nightly "special comments". This guy will flame out, it's not a question of if, but when. I'm loving every minute of it.(Sorry for quoting Loverboy)

Oh... but they believe
November 25, 2007 - 13:12 ET by MidAmericaOh... but they believe that their 'filtering' of the news by 'professional' news journalists is necessary so that the public can understand what is important and what opinions are the most correct.
In other words, they think they are a news factory that takes raw unusable (in it's raw state) information and transforms it into a product that is useful, helpful and digestible to the social good of society. The new media, however, is feeding this raw undigested material and is loosening and coarsening the fabric of society.

November 25, 2007 - 12:33 ET by dmntd1My sister was trying her best to convince me that the economy isn't doing as well as "THAT" administration would like us to believe. Seems like they heard a factory would be closing down in the next year, putting 1400 people out of work, and since they only get a year to prepare, the economy must be really bad.... BDS at its best!
I really think that questioning others' masculinity is a game probably better left to people who haven't had more cock in and out of them than a Tyson Chicken regional distribution center. AceOfSpades 06162007
Christians
November 25, 2007 - 12:43 ET by timotheTough call, but I think Christians are enemy #1 of the current secular/progressive movement. We don't hear about it so much now because there isn't a current threat against Roe v Wade, but I have no doubts that the MSM hates Christians. It is at least a small part of the reason they hate George Bush so much.
Puzzled if Newsbusters is really this bright
November 25, 2007 - 12:59 ET by Lame CherryI still have not concluded if Newsbusters is this bright in zoning questions (as Rush Limbaugh says words mean things) to gauge their bloggers and lurkers or if it is more just God coming up with inspiring fantastic questions.
The reason I ponder this is your polling questions for the majority are very profound in the nuance of what you are really asking thinking people.
The answer to the above is the MSM is most AFRAID of Christians for Christians remind them of the reality of what judgment is coming which they try to deny so they can exist in failure.
The MSM is most at angst about the economy doing well under the GOP as it makes their job more difficult in herding the sheep to vote liberal to employ their elitist agenda.
The MSM if furious over the new media sweeping it away. The classic example was Charlie Rose peeing in Markos' face in an interview showing Marcos as stupid and in turn slapping him down to show Rose is the real media and has marked his territory.
The MSM is most addicted to the global warming scam as they relish a story of terrifying people as it brings ratings, herds people and they just live self inflicted pain. It is their piercing psychopathy.
and finally, the MSM is most aggravated to any policy other than a non voted for UN policy taking control as the UN implements policy by mandate dictatorship and there is not in any way any US citizen would vote for such nonsense.

MSM meet buggy whip
November 25, 2007 - 14:14 ET by pocomocoThe fact the old media are afraid of being swept away by the new media is evident by the increasing stridency in their news reporting as they realize that decades of monopolistic ‘we will tell you what we want you to know’ - is gone.
Like the buggy whip, the old media are no longer needed.
The sad part of it is that it doesn’t have to happen, but their political agendas seem to trump reality and they are bound and determined to go down in flames professing them.
the truth.....in any form
November 25, 2007 - 14:44 ET by doug1950Agree..because if they did, they would then have to tell the unvarnished truth and that is just NOT in them to do that. A true die hard liar will always go down in flames rather than admit they have been lying for decades. The pathological liar will tell a whole series of lies just to cover one big lie. I do not think it is any one thing they are most afraid of. They are afraid of everything remotely like the truth. If Americans only knew the truth, they would know they no longer need any of the MSM and the MSM media would be found out to be little more than a sandwich board.

November 25, 2007 - 16:59 ET by JerryI think they fear the economy doing well during a GOP administration, since they can't "spin" away the facts that are lining your wallet.
They don't fear the Christian fundamentalists as much as they HATE them.
They don't fear being swept away by the new media, otherwise they would change the way they operate. Though they SHOULD fear it, their delusions of self-importance prevent them from doing so.
They don't fear global warming, they welcome it as a political issue, they welcome it as a "cause" to champion, and they embrace it as their new religion.
And lastly, they do not fear a non-UN controlled foreign policy, at least not when a Democrat President is in office. What the UN thinks is inconsequential when a "Clinton" calls the shots. They do claim to fear it when a Republican is in office, so ultimately, it is just another political wedge.

Christian "fundamentalists"
November 25, 2007 - 19:48 ET by nythatesusaChristian "fundamentalists" are considered by the Academia-Media Complex to be the impediment to "Progressive" policies in many areas, including the ones mentioned above. Even if you are not Christian and/or religious, you will be called a schill for the "Religious Right" if you fall on the wrong side of many issues.
The book "What's the Matter with Kansas" argues that red state voters would support higher taxes, environmental regulation, etc. if they weren't so blinded by their opposition to gay marriage and abortion, among other things. Paul Krugman argues in his new book that the switch by "southern white voters" to the GOP was motivated by racist signals given by Republicans. He says this has prevented the expansion of New Deal policies.
To me, the views of Christian "fundamentalists" are mostly the views of mainstream Americans. But I think Media Center Leftists have had some success in this decade in convincing this mainstream that they are out of the mainstream.
