wow, 0 vs 55 at this

wow, 0 vs 55 at this point.

I think that says a lot.

I hope that goes nationwide.

What value is there in

What value is there in watching this Hollywood freak show?

Hollyweirdos

They're dying. "I'm melting--oh,what a world, what a world"--so nice to see!

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

I'm watching, 'cause I wanna

I'm watching, 'cause I wanna see Stewart host, but I don't have any movies I'm pulling for, I guess other than Juno.

I'm watching

because I don't want to miss any Tim Robbins/Susan Sarandon speeches.  This way I'm set for the rest of the year.

(And also to see what Halle Berry is wearing.  Mmmmm.)

If I want to see rampant

If I want to see rampant anti-Americanism, I'll just tune in to JTV (Jihad TV). At least they are not elite, egotistical snobs. Plus their "Death to America" message is consistent and doesn't just come out during Republican administrations.

When asked if he went to war with Iraq to derail the impeachment vote: “I don’t think any serious person would believe that any President would do such a thing." - President Clinton (Dec 1998).

watching Jane Austen

The third episode of "Pride and Prejudice" is on PBS. Why would anyone want to watch Hollywood crapsters arm-in-arm and patting each other on the back for the worst lot of films in a decade.

And I wonder how many of them will take the time to laud and praise good old Fidel?

No offense but ...

... I never did get any sort of need or thrill in watching someone else's practice of "self-gratification" ...

When you men get home and face an anti-war protestor, look him in the eyes and shake his hand. Then, wink at his girlfriend because she knows she’s dating a pussy… ~ Attributed to General Tommy Franks

THANK YOU

That is exactly the answer I was searching for -- your words are better than mine

where's the 'not even if you paid me' option?

No Poofdas

Where's the "Oh, is that tonight?" option?

I admire FDR for not insisting on getting the approval of France and Germany before going to war.

Racing

If the weather clears in CA, I'll be watching the NASACR races both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide series. After that there is drag racing. I don't hve to get any where near the Oscars. I am just wondering which one will make the most ignorant comments.

If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes.-Lewis Grizzard

There you go! Rain at

There you go! Rain at Fontana, but the weather is good in Chandler!

Did you qualifying? I couldn't believe Doug Kalitta. That's 300 inches of wheelbase, and he had to still be going 100 mph when he took the turn!

who cares about the oscars

i don't care to watch a bunch of super rich america hating liberals tell me how bad a person i am in their acceptance speech for a quite frankly some mundane pedestrian acomplishment. these people aren't important to the real world, so why are they exhaulted to a near godlike position. i go out of my way to avoid, ignore, and keep my time and money away from them.

Kinda hafta

want to see how wins in the annimation category. Might be switching back and forth, to lessen the pain.

There is no sense in being stupid, if you can't prove it! - my dad V

You can read about it

You can read about the animation winner on Page C9 of tomorrow's LA Times, unless the winner comes up and makes a statement more totally outrageous than other "winners".

I'm not watching only because I have tickets to a show

tonight. Otherwise I would be. I have a long standing tradition of watching them with a friend and she was upset when I was going to start boycotting a few years ago. I told her that I would only watch if she promised to make fun of the asinine things they said with me.

This friend is a liberal - but a more reasonable one then most and she agrees that they say really idiotic things also. She is a huge George Clooney fan but even had to agree what a pompas jerk he was the year he snubbed that average woman (who won a minor award like sound editing or something) by rolling his eyes in disgust when she thanked the academy for sitting her at his table for lunch. He ate up similar comments by an attractive comedian at the Spirit Awards. She also thought he was an idiot for saying that Hollywood was responsible for solving a bunch of world problems. I can't remember exactly what he said but it was really stupid.

Pride and Prejudice

I will be watching Pride and Prejudice on PBS Masterpiece Theater.

You know real actors with talent unlike Hollywood actors there because they were sodomized by perverted studio heads.

Oscars

When they started talking about Michael Moore getting an Oscar, that's when I knew for sure I would not watch.

I used to love to look

I used to love to look forwrd to the Oscars with great anticipation, you also used to do something called go to the movies, which was a great treat back then for some of us, almost a luxury to have the money to spare plus the cost of a baby-sitter....we didn't have VCR's or DVD's then or place to rent a movie instantly or HBO/Star repeats of the movie if you just waited long enough...let alone pay per view...it was fun hoping for the movie you liked best, plus the actors you hoped for to win ect...

That is until Marlon Brando and his spokesperson Sacheen Littlefeather...for me the Oscar's has been nothing but a political show one way or the other since then...I may catch part of it towards the end now then if I remember and nothing else is on...

...for instance I didn't give it a second thought until you mentioned it here...lol.

Sad what the Oscars have become.

Sorry I gotta pluck my

Sorry I gotta pluck my eyebrows while they're on. If I didn't have to I totally would watch them, though!

The Rocky Mountain Collegian: Illustrating Idiocy

The oscars represents

The oscars represents everything wrong with Hollywood and those who worship them. No humility and recognizing there are things bigger than they. On top of that, they have to use the opportunity to screech their pet socialistic garbage, but how many of them actually gave to a real charity?

Hey Michael Moore, maybe instead of complaining about how awful the medical program is here, open up a hospital and offer free healthcare to all.

Will skip the America-hater

Will skip the America-hater jamboree.  Please Newsbusters, somehow get ahold of the video of this incident from the 1975 Academy Awards and post it.  From Frontpagemag.com:

The award for Best Feature Documentary went to the film Hearts and Minds, a vicious piece of propaganda that assailed American cultural values as well as our effort to assist South Vietnam's struggle for democracy.  The producers, Peter Davis and Bert Schneider.....jointly accepted the Oscar.  Schneider was frank about his support of the Communists.  As he stepped to the mike he commented that "It is ironic that we are here at a time just before Vietnam is about to be liberated".....................Schneider pulled out a telegram from our enemy, the Vietnamese Communist delegation in Paris, and read aloud its congratulations to his film.  Without hesitating, Hollywood's most powerful people rewarded Schneider's reading of the telegram with a standing ovation.

The Osctards is a joke-fest

The Osctards is a joke-fest -- I have much better things to do with my life than watch a bunch of selfish egoists parade their "talent" on stage only to hear them spew leftist rhetoric and nonsense.

Academy Awards Use Troops to Push Agenda?

There’s some talk out there about how the military was used during the Academy Awards presentation. Apparently they introduced an award given to a homosexual film (less than ironic re: don’t ask/don’t tell), which was followed by an award for an anti-WOT documentary in the same category as Moore’s Sicko and some anti-Iraq war film. The winner of the second award said some anti-Bush/Cheney dark side nonsense. Commenters on the Malkin site and freerepublic picked on some of this, might be worth exploring. . .  http://michellemalkin.com/2008/02/24/the-oscars-open-thread/#comments

biasfighter...

Thanks..that was fun and interesting...I liked the post that said "military abuse" a lot.... along with others.

For me this is a crying shame...I will have to read more about this tomorrow evening or the next day...

I bet there may be something here on NBs about this too.

I watched them only because

I watched them only because my wife and daughter likes them.  I was in the living room on the computer playing games.  I nearly puked when the anti war BDS sttuff came up.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.
