NBers
June 25, 2008 - 12:02 ET by Noel SheppardNBers,
This poll was the idea of Anthony Watts. We are going to combine, compare, and contrast results in a few days. ns
Thanks for the explanation
June 25, 2008 - 12:13 ET by CaringwhiteguyI still don't get the purpose of the poll. Does it have anything to do with NB trying to be more like the Onion?

June 25, 2008 - 12:15 ET by TruthMongerwhat does NASA use for fuel?
does the shuttle leave a carbon foot print when it blasts off - or is it hydro and wind powered?
isn't nasa polluting space with satellite junk - which rains down on us from time to time?
hasn't nasa raped and pillaged from the moon and mars for years now?
NASA makes big oil look pretty damn Amish to me...

my mistype there... I did remember that the boosters were solid. But it was the solid what, I wasn't sure about.
As you're combining.
June 25, 2008 - 13:18 ET by danboThen drop one vote for fired. I already voted over at Anthony's website.
I wouldn't want to give the wrong impression like warmers who sign petitions claiming to be a scientist. Then claim the petition and list is a lie.

June 25, 2008 - 12:20 ET by ConservativeRexWith this knucklehead Hansen, you get a preview of what every cabinet head will sound like under an Obama administration. It'll be a tough four years for any of us that pay taxes.

June 25, 2008 - 12:21 ET by bassndudeHansen is a lier and a propagandist. He is Algores lap dog and I am sure he has investments, altho quiet, in Algores carbon credits scam. Fire him, and then have all of his data and reserach seized and scrutinized.
Save a SeAL, club a liberal!!
Not only fired, but...
June 25, 2008 - 12:23 ET by Parker1227Hansen and all other anti-oil, Global Warming fanatics (like Al Gore), should be banned from all forms of combustion travel, and have their combustion vehicles confiscated.
Live the dream, baby!
completely agree.
June 25, 2008 - 13:34 ET by mbuelThey should also do what Rush suggested. Tax newspaper use... hit em where it hurts... Do they realize how idiotic it is to sue the oil companies?
Do these morons realize how easy oil has made our lives? I just want SOMEONE to B**** slap these morons into common sense!
Yes
June 25, 2008 - 14:16 ET by BelnumCreeI like your suggestion.

right on
June 25, 2008 - 13:55 ET by mbuelThat's precisely where Hansen's money is coming from. God forbid we question where the greens money come from though, they are purer than driven snow.

June 25, 2008 - 12:43 ET by mattmI picked 'fired' but "tried for malfeasance" should have been a choice.
What a silly question!
June 25, 2008 - 12:50 ET by Dr_LibertyOf course oil execs should be tried for crimes against humanity. So should anybody who ever owned an automobile.
And so should people who ever rode in a car.
And that goes as well for people who just even looked at a car on the road with lust in their heart because they are only justifying the ideological hegemony of the "other."
And if you used plastic? To the slammer you go!
Have you had the heat on too high in your house? Blammo! See you behind bars (and not the kind that serve Bud Light!)
Those french fries lookin' good? Nope! Trans fat. We're putting you on ice for a time to think about your crimes against humanity.
Soon, all of humanity will be jailed for crimes against humanity and Gaia (or whatever) will rise up and rejoice. May the trees release toxins that only spare Marky Mark.

No--Hansen should be tried for manipulating science. Oil execs and CEO's need a little more backbone when it comes to eco freaks.

And sine they won't investigate the Dems and their sweetheart mortgage deals, we may as well watch a bunch of kangaroos boxing.

Perhaps the liberals can
June 25, 2008 - 13:22 ET by Chris NormanPerhaps the liberals can expand Hanson's proposal to all kinds of things: if someone actively opposes the cuts in the military that are sure to happen under an Obama presidency, they could be tried as "war mongers". If someone opposes increases in public assistance programs or education, they could be brought up on charges of "reckless endangerment of children". Hell, with this midset as policy, they could shut down any and all opposition. This guy is a "public servant"?
And why stop with trials
June 26, 2008 - 02:19 ET by lnthompAnd why stop with trials for those opposing military cutbacks -- maybe they can just execute all current and former military personnel because we are all blood-thirsty savages. And they won't even see the irony in that suggestion.

He is an absolute NUT paid for by the money man Soros!
This country is going to hell in a hand basket and I feel totally helpless.

June 25, 2008 - 14:09 ET by MassConservI chose that he should apologize and keep his job.
I think it would cause him more pain to have to apologize than would just simply firing him. He'd just consider himself a martyr if he were just fired. Like we need that.
Of course, if he shows no sign of contrition upon having to swallow his pride and continues his BS, THEN can his arse.
No, he should be...

June 25, 2008 - 22:24 ET by DemonhunterHansen should be tried for "crimes against humanity". He is the one spreading fear, flawed science, and false data. How many will starve and go hungry this year because of food shortage and higher prices caused by the false claims of the AGW crowd?
Hansen's projecting, he is the one guilty of what he charges oil execs with. Let him stew in his own juice.

Fired and Tried For Theft of Public Funds
June 26, 2008 - 13:07 ET by PSPCplIf I believed in reincarnation, I would say that this guy Hansen was one of the Roman Catholic bishops who was condemning Galileo for telling them that we lived in heliocentric solar system and showing them the evidence to prove it.
This man should be fired post-haste for at the very least, incompetence and at the worst, fraud. I believe it is the latter. He claims to be a scientist, yet he allows his personal orthodoxy/ideology to dictate his beliefs not the evidence or lack thereof, and that makes him a fraud. We jail all snake oil salesmen, don't we? Especially when they are taking a government paycheck (i.e., taxpayer money).
And if it's the former, he should be taken out of the building by security right this minute. If he can't look at the evidence and come up with the right conclusion, how can he be trusted to make intelligent decisions? That puts an entire program and everyone who has to go in harm's way in danger. Would you allow an incompetent doctor perform surgery on your child? Of course not!
