Corzine wins by a substantial margin, raising eyebrows, but no investigation.

It matters. BUT whatever happens media will declare Democrat victory. BUT people are getting wise to their leftist propaganda.

I don't have much hope for
November 3, 2009 - 10:45 ET by pwozI don't have much hope for my state of NJ. Daggett is a CorSLIME plant.
Ugh.
You bring up an
November 3, 2009 - 10:51 ET by doug1950interesting question I have had. What is Daggett's pedigree? What is his background as far as Party affiliations? I thought he was the spoiler from the beginning; running to siphon off votes from the Republican because without Daggett in the race I think Corzine would be beaten like a rented mule. As soon as I read of the three way race in NJ I told my wife.....Ross Perot all over again or as Rush referred to him...."the little hand grenade with a bad haircut."
I believe Dede Whatherscuz in NY23 is the same thing
Corslime hired Daggett for
November 3, 2009 - 10:56 ET by pwozCorslime hired Daggett for some bs in-state position a few years ago, so Daggett owes him.
Daggett just mirrored Christie's responses in the debates, while he'll raise taxes just as fast as Corslime.
The unions and public sector PARASITES in New Jersey are SCARED of Christie.
I'm moving out of this rathole within 2-3 years anyway, but I'd like more $ in the process.
Is he the same Lawyer Daggett

Moderate Republican
November 3, 2009 - 10:48 ET by Jerry MackThe New York 23rd congressional race is already being touted as a victory for the Democrats. The reason given is that the moderate Republican was forced out by right wingers. Thusly decreasing the size of the tent.
What they ( Tingles, Olberwhacky, et all ) fail to mention is that if Nancy Pelosi was a Republican, she would be called a moderate by them.
They can spin it anyway they want to
November 3, 2009 - 10:53 ET by doug1950they are the only people who believe that nonsense. They think all Americans are just one genetic element away from hanging in the trees by our tails and are too stupid to see through their BS.
Exactly, Doug.
November 3, 2009 - 11:01 ET by BlondeIf I could, I'd wrap up DeeDee & Arlen and hand them to the democrats as a gift.
All of these idiot Dem talking heads (just had Wasserman Schultz on....sheesh I can't abide that liberal hack but my fellow Broward residents are too stupid to get rid of her....she's from the next district south of me) keep trying to paint Scuzzafava as a "moderate".
I'd suggest these (R) talking heads come up with our own talking point....."well, if these moderate republicans choose, they can register independent. And then vote for us or against us in the general".
That's what I'd do.
I hope he fails, too.
Blonde
November 3, 2009 - 11:18 ET by doug1950Agree. I sense a wee bit of panic in their expressions and verbal diarrhea. They are spending too much time on their talking points, as if saying it over and over will somehow make so. More like wishful thinking on their part. I can't stomach any of the usual talking heads we routinely dissect in here as I refuse to suffer fools and liars. My threshold for traitors to America is non existent.
I get the sense that "Republican" is uncool
November 3, 2009 - 11:24 ET by Blondefor many of these indie voters to use as a self-identifier.
Like almost all of us here, I am a conservative, and vote republican because the alternative is just too awful.
And I wish the (R) leadership would get a clue. FIX THE PRIMARIES to disallow the indies and democrats from fixing our candidate choices (McRinos) and platforms.
I have no problem with someone being an Independent....but don't expect to have your cake and eat it too. If you can't pick a side, you get no choice until the end game is on.
I hope he fails, too.
The Republicans need to
November 3, 2009 - 12:44 ET by fitzfongThe Republicans need to portray the removal of Scozzafava (and those like her) as nothing but fat trimming, addition by subtraction, the purge of a liability. The sooner we rid the Party of passengers like David Frum, David Brooks, Mark McKinnon, Lindsey Graham, Olympia Snowe and Scozzafava, the sooner the Republican Party will emerge leaner, meaner and with a clear purpose...a blueprint for victory. The longer we're forced to tolerate this "New Majority"-type dead weight, the longer it will take for the Party to pull itself out of the swamp.

Moderate Republican
November 3, 2009 - 12:54 ET by GeneralAlModerate Republican by MSM definition is anyone not Conservative! Did you ever notice, however, that Conservative Democrats are either Blue Dogs or Moderates? I guess Conservative is a dirty word to these clowns! That being the case:
Hey Matthews, Olberman, Maddow, Todd, you dirty Conservatives! Rush you you Sarah Palin, you!
Re Drug Bust
November 3, 2009 - 10:54 ET by slickwillie2001Regarding the drug bust in NJ, it looks like Corzine and his campaign are lying their faces off trying to distance themselves from this. From an article yesterday:
"A Paramus man who claimed to be the assistant deputy director of Gov. Jon S. Corzine’s re-election campaign was arrested by East Rutherford police Friday, Oct. 30 for possession of Ecstasy."
"...Throughout the course of the investigation, Shih said he was the assistant deputy director for Corzine and that the campaign rented the 2008 Toyota he was driving."
"...Shih also reportedly had 10 paychecks from the Middlesex County Democratic Committee in his possession. One paycheck for $1,500 was payable to Shih from the MCDC, according to reports."
Man Busted For Drugs Claimed He Was a Corzine Campaign Staffer: http://leadernewspapers.net
If this man was claiming to be a Republican staffer, his story would be accepted as fact and on the front page of the New York Slimes.
If Hoffman wins in NY23 not
November 3, 2009 - 11:02 ET by MassConservativeIf Hoffman wins in NY23 not only will the minions in the media and the Dims say this is bad news for the Republicans (i.e. divided party) they will claim it was not a surprise because the Republican should have won based on the district. They will completely brush over the fact that the only reason this election was even being held today is because of Obama's move to nominate the incumbant to get the popular Republican out of there and try and steal the seat.
In NJ the question is whether enough voters will break from the wasted vote on Dagget to overcome the Acorn/Karzhai gambit by Corzine to steal the election. I for one do not think this vote is as close as the media is projecting. If Christie wins by 5 points or more say goodbye to "ObamaCare" as the Dem moderates race for the lifeboats.

Re Daggett
November 3, 2009 - 11:52 ET by slickwillie2001Re the Daggett a Corzine-plant theory, this is further evidence:
Dems Admit Paying for Pro-Daggett Call: http://www.politickernj.com
Corzine is enough of a typical New Jersey sleazeball that I would not put anything beneath him. There's always been a double standard re Corzine in the liberal media. He essentially bought his position as Governor, and he bought his earlier US Senate position. If he were a Republican every story on him would call him 'billionaire John Corzine' and we would be reminded that he has bought his way into politics and made his money on Wall Street.
Stealing an election
November 3, 2009 - 12:36 ET by saintknowitallDon't underestimate the ability of the Chicago machine to steal an election in NJ. The polls showed Al Frankin behind going into his election. There are already reports that requests for absentee ballots has risen today (NJ allows for absentee ballots on the day of election). You can walk in and request up to 10 absentee ballots and go and get them filled out and returned on the same day.
I am sure the cemeteries in NJ are going to go heavily for the Democrat.
Going out on a limb....
November 3, 2009 - 12:47 ET by Calypso JonesRepublican sweep BUT i still voted, democrats will spin it. That might work for about half the country who head is either up their ....or in the sand. The rest of us will know that this is just the beginning. Conservatives are feeling their power. YEAH.
Imagine this. Republican sweep and THEN we show up in DC on thursday! That oughta cause a few of them a little stress. We're going...6 of us.

Sweep due to high GOP turnout
November 3, 2009 - 12:53 ET by RpeggioHigh turnout isn't factored into the polls we've been seeing where Corzine is just 1% behind Christie. A telephone poll asking likely voters who they'll vote for doesn't account for the reality that the passion is on the right this time and conservatives and many independents are ticked-off about our gov't and Corzine's insane tax policies etc. so I foresee a high turnout on the right, lower turnout on the left, and Christie wins by 5%+ And NY23 and Virginia much bigger for the GOP. Acorn and voting from the dead can't swing it to the Dems this time. Gonna be a fun night to watch the liberal news networks squirm out of the clear message these elections are sending about dissatisfaction for Obama, Pelosi and team.

November 3, 2009 - 17:00 ET by bigtimerHoping for a Trifecta this evening...
Christie will win in NJ...
...but they have already cheated in so many ways using ACORN/SEIU via absentee ballots etc as I posted about yesterday they are making sure Corzine wins come hell or high water.
I do hope it is challenged...big time.
...Not holding my breath though.

Watch the media spin on the Republician resurgance!
November 3, 2009 - 19:05 ET by Cambell1662As the independent candidate comes from nowhere to win in NY, gee what can it mean? Must mean the end of the Republician party, right? Hardly, we conservatives know that the Republician party is our best hope. So many have been turned off by the liberal Marxist regime going on in this administration. We are flocking to the Republician party, it probably is our only hope.
And by the way, I have voted Democratic all my life, but no more. If we don't stop this present far left take-over of our country, we will have to no place to vote either Democratic or Republician. We'll all be Marxists.
