Hey MOD,

Same age here. Well, just a couple months younger actually. I'll be officially adding the 1 in just over two weeks.

I remember watching the first episode of Happy Days.

Did anyone see the episode of the Brady Bunch when Gregg almost drowned? It was a two-parter.

Did anyone ever watch Rex Trailer?

Sam and Henry! We used to play rock music with real rocks, that's how dirt was made. Later we had rotary phones, really BIG cars, low gas prices and very little governmetnal interference. AND, democrats cared about US security, that's how old I am.

It was that darned cursed

It was that darned cursed Tiki's fault. I blame Bobby for giving it to Greg in the first place.

TWIB note: Greg (Barry Williams) did actually got seriously hurt filming that scene. If you watch his wipeout closely, when he wipes out on the surfboard, he does a face plant right on a rock. So there was no "retake" of that scene. And yes, he was the one out there surfing.

Go about 2:35 into this video:

And actually, I think it was a 3-parter, much like their excursion of mayhem to Arizona.

So yes, I guess I'm old, too.

30-40 was my best decade

The ten years between 30 & 40 turned out to be the best, but I was really depressed on my 30th (thinking life was over - so funny to think about that now!!) At 40, I started to realize that I couldn't "do" the things I used to be able to do anymore....and relatives stopped asking me to join the baseball game at the family reunions!!! At 50, I first acknowledged that the guy starring back at me in the mirror was "starting" to show his age....

Ah, yes...I remember gas wars when gas would drop from 22 cents/gal all the way down to 13 cents (lowest price I remember - happened at Goebals gas station around 1965). The owner would call my parents right before the "gas war" (against the other area stations) was over so we could fill the tank before he raised the price back up to 19 cents the next day!!!
