October 29, 2008 - 09:07 ET by ThisnThatThis is a no brainer. The media has a clear objective -- promote the welfare of all women, beginning in the U.S., and expanded everywhere. They have clear examples of how to do this promotion:
Job well done, MSM. And don't worry about all those spurious charges of bias and double standards coming your way. None of these comments come from your leftist and marxist buddies, so I'm sure they don't mean a thing -- especially to your ever-decreasing readership and viewership. Some sacrifice is necessary, you know, to achieve your objective of destroying America.

October 29, 2008 - 09:16 ET by R D HelmA lot, for the worse.
The Marxist Socialist Media has been very successful in harming Sarah Palin's public image in their over-the-top effort to put a fellow freedom-hating Marxist in the Oval Office.
So much so that many conservatives have come out against her, never mind that John McCain appears as a lefty New-Dealer next to her staunch conservatism.
Somewhat, for the better has two votes? LMAO!-Must be Josh and Jeffro's votes.

October 29, 2008 - 14:57 ET by abeautifulpersonfolks on the left like folks on the right use the MSM to provide them with information. one can take that information and do what one wants with it.
you and noel choose to attack its presentation. okay, fine. others take the information, confirm the facts from different sources and form and opinion.
don't get angry because people who are conservative see palin as the disaster the folks on the left see. and don't insult intelligent conservatives accusing them of being manipulated because they happen to have gathered lots of information and decided to disapprove of palin and disagree with you.
there is a difference in two groups of people not agreeing with each other AND two groups not agreeing with each other + one group having inept candidates; which is the case in this election.
Obama/Biden?
October 29, 2008 - 15:17 ET by BigSpoon65BigSpoon65
I'm guessing you are talking about the Obama/Biden ticket. One candidate has no experience or accomplishments to speak of and hangs with people who hate America. The other half of the ticket is a circus clown posing as a U.S. senator, Joe "Plugs" Biden. Anyone who thinks Joe Biden is qualified to do anything other than unclog your toilet just hasn't been paying attention.

I have been trying to get to the reason why my stepdaughter does not think very much of Palin(if fact she dislikes her)....light went off last night...she and her husband are O'Reily fans and I know he has said some disparaging things about her, of course he's an ass. :)

October 29, 2008 - 09:56 ET by Dan The Man 2Your comment "i do not think" probably fits you to a tee. The relentless basesless attacks against Plain have done her much harm with the voters who only read headlines or get their news from MSM outlets. Wash the scales away from your eyes so taht you may see the truth.

The Media's Objective Was Clear: Discredit Palin
October 29, 2008 - 09:30 ET by BigSpoon65BigSpoon65
I am still waiting for the stories about Obama's suits or his shoes. Clearly he is not wearing J.C.Penney's suits or getting his shoes at Payless. We have been shown by the democrats that sexism is alive and well within their party. Has their ever been a dumber candidate than Joe "Plugs" Biden? His gaffes in this election are too numerous to count and if you don't believe me just ask Joe. He displayed his superior intellect when spelling that three letter word for us J-O-B-S. Bottom line is that the vitriol and hatred we are seeing against Sarah Palin can all be explained by her position on one issue....ABORTION. The liberals have worked too hard and too long to advance their right to slaughter the innocent to let some Christian woman erase it all. That is the bottom line! God help us all if women lose the right to act immorally and eradicate the consequences of their actions. To liberals this would be a bigger setback than the loss of the invention of the wheel or the light bulb. We're talking dark ages! I love this womans conservative principles and would enthusiastically support her should she choose to run for president in 2012! Go Sarah!

Lest We Not Forget
October 29, 2008 - 09:48 ET by Southern voterYou can't forget the outrage from our society to arrest, prosecute, convict and demand prison of a NFL football player for killing DOGS (Michael Vick)....but how dare Sarah Palin stand up for the protection of life ....
Go Sarah !!!!

October 29, 2008 - 09:46 ET by SemperrightI have no doubt the MSM wanted to make her look like Hitler in heels but I also think people looked at her closer to "See what all the fuss was about". I think a lot of people liked what they saw.
All the negative piling on also brought out a lot of Hillary supporters.
Some say there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Nothing less than out and out character assassination
October 29, 2008 - 09:50 ET by CTThe leftist agenda driven MSM has led the charge for the DNC and the Obamunists to destroy Sarah Palin. Wait till they see what happens to them when their Hugo Chavez wannabe dictator doesn't like what they are saying.
Cognitive Dissonance...
October 29, 2008 - 09:50 ET by AuVox...Is when evidence points to conclusions not supported by one's beliefs.
According to the media, and the pundits, Palin is a "lightweight", a "joke", "dragging down the Republican ticket"... yet she attracts SRO or turnaway crowds wherever and whenever she appears.
It appears to me that the MSM is getting its impression of Governor Palin from every group but one.
The voters.

The Press has treated Palin and others in their usual dishonest.
October 29, 2008 - 10:50 ET by ThalpyThe Press has treated Palin and others in their usual dishonest way. If you were given the task of writing a job description for reporters or talking heads today, how would you go about it? Just what is their function? Who do they serve and why?
I had to go against the group.

Media Bias against Palin
October 29, 2008 - 10:33 ET by Mike SEasily the biggest story about Governor Palin should be her 80+% approval rating. That is absolutely unheard of, and is the biggest difference between her and every other politician this year. What is the approval rating of the congress that Barack Obama, John McCain and Joe Biden belong to? It's 9%.
There has been virtually no reporting of her approval rating, and absolutely no analysis of it. Why is she so popular in Alaska?
The notion that the media
October 29, 2008 - 10:34 ET by Chris NormanThe notion that the media has treated Sarah Palin in a sexist way is wrong. Rather, they deliberately set out to belittle, mock, and downgrade her in anyway they could and this was all about rank gutter politics and has nothing to do with anything as complicated as sexism.

I don't know, Chris
October 29, 2008 - 10:57 ET by BlondeThey've certainly used Palin's sex as an easy hook to denigrate her...painting her as a bimbo, beauty queen, etc. while discounting her accomplishments.
Remember, they went after Hillary too (sorry to bring this up, but HRC's cleavage?). But the manner in which they've gone after Sarah Palin has been obscene in its viciousness. I believe when all is said and done, "Palin" will become a verb, just like being "borked".
An altogether disastrous legacy for the MsM, I hope.
In his own words (19 seconds): This man is qualified to be VP?

October 29, 2008 - 11:34 ET by Chris NormanWhat they've done may, in effect, be sexist - but they've tried to destroy her not because they are sexists - they would have attempted this with anyone they feared could help McCain win - woman or man. I think there's a difference.

Anecdotal Evidence
October 29, 2008 - 11:01 ET by HermanoMy wife's grandmonther is 85 and lives in Philly. It is no secret she is voting for 0bama. We chatted a little about politics the other day and she said the not even her hometown newspaper was supporting her. I told her it was interesting especially since she has an 80% approval rating in AK. She had NOT heard that. If you are not going to do your own research, you are going to get stuck with the somethi9ng you may really not want. And by "you" I mean We the People.

somewhat.... only for indies
October 29, 2008 - 12:14 ET by wizardjrI think that their rancid attacks have done two balancing things:
1) swayed the lazy to be against Gov. Palin based on MSM lies
2) fired up PUMAs and others based on this horrid treatment
I'm not sure if its a wash or if it'll tilt the numbers sufficiently for McLame/Palin. I certainly hope so. I was not going to vote at all this time around (first time in decades), but Gov. Palin is an inspiration of level headed conservatism. How can I not go out and vote for her?
There Would Be No Stopping Sarah
October 29, 2008 - 12:24 ET by BW222If the American public ever gets to know the real Sarah Palin, without the smears and distortions, there will be no stopping her.
MSM realizes this and that's why it's working 24/7 to destroy her.

October 29, 2008 - 12:50 ET by GlennMorning Joe had a intresting fact on the media's coverage of Sarah Palin. Postive coverage or stories were at a blistering 7%! Negative stories were over 60! Nice balance.
Even though we do have an alternative media, there are still a lot of folks that give their news from only one source...and that might be ABC,CBS,NBC, MSNBC....you get the picture.
