I picked days because you
February 22, 2008 - 13:41 ET by bigtimerI picked days because you didn't have 'who knows'...
I have a hard time believing there isn't more coming down the road, whether it is the NYT's or other vehicles.
That is just how I feel for now anyway...one thing about it, time will tell...lol.
Sure they did
February 22, 2008 - 15:57 ET by Gat New Yorkyou didn't have 'who knows'...
Sure you did. It was "what's his name" and "you know" as well as "it's on the tip of my tongue." They were all former aides.
There wasn't more beyond the slander they committed to the three Duke players. Keller is a no talent scrub editor who is Sulzberger's hit man.
Thanks for filling me in

Old Gray Lady has joined the Star, Globe, & National Enquirer
February 22, 2008 - 14:29 ET by PSPCplThe reason for the quick fizzle is that the dementia at the Old Gray Lady is a well known fact: the McCain hit job was just another manifestation of that dementia. They have obtained the same status as the rest of the supermarket tabloids as a prime source of pet cage liner.
Fizzle Now - But a historical fact
February 22, 2008 - 18:07 ET by pilsenerThe story will quickly die, the NYT won't even try to defend or follow-up - UNTIL - 3 months from now the story will be resurrected in other hit pieces as proven historical fact.
Just like "swift-boat" joined the lexicon, McCain's "inappropriate" behavior with lobbyists will be casually inserted into story after story. It has now become part of the narrative.
Suggestion for a new poll...
February 22, 2008 - 14:30 ET by c5thenHow many more hit jobs directed at McCain will there be between now and elections day?
The day that "politician" became a career choice is the day we started losing the Republic. Let's get it back! Alan Keyes '08.
c5then, How many days till Nov 4th. 008
February 22, 2008 - 15:14 ET by upcountrywater1 hit a day, and 2 on Sunday.. NYT is a rag, they can do whatever they want. NYT is just a hobby, no need to make a profit.
Iranian uranium; Iranian ICBM's; Iranian satellites..CHANGE is comming BELIEVE in that!
Age
February 24, 2008 - 10:33 ET by ThisnThatThe big hit will be on McCain's age, especially when they compare McCain with Obama's youth. You will see videos played side-by-side; you'll get close-ups; McCain's skin cancer will be mentioned; and any and all hesitation in McCain's speech will be analyzed to death and reported to us as a sign of dementia.
This will be a very sophisticated, well-funded, and long-term attack. It will not be portrayed as a "hit". Instead, the MSM will play this as sympathy, and simply repeat the idea until it takes hold: "McCain is too old to protect the U.S. His reaction will be too slow. He'll miss key points before it's too late. The poor man, he doesn't even know it".
I suspect it's being put together now by George Soros.

A welcome respite
February 22, 2008 - 14:30 ET by pocomocoWhat we are now seeing from all media sources is ‘overkill’.
Every time I turn on any of the media news, there it is. It is impossible to get away from it unless you do what I do, turn them off.
Hopefully, though, this news cycle will be short-lived as they are starting to run the story into the ground.
It does, however, have one saving grace as it is a welcome respite from the now ever-present tabloid news of Princess Di, Brittany Spears, and Drew Peterson.
poco... It does, however,

....Bingo!
The reaction to the story didn't fit the template
February 22, 2008 - 15:02 ET by timotheThat's why the story has no legs. Compare this story to something completely unrelated like say...Alberto Gonzales. In the Gonzales case, there was an axe to grind. This man had to be removed!!! So the stories kept on coming until he resigned. Mission accomplished.
What came out of the NYT story is that the NYT may have alterior motives. Can't grind that axe...the NYT is the paper of record, ya know.
Which "buzz"???
February 22, 2008 - 15:15 ET by sarcasmoThe totally-unproven but interesting to the media sex-buzz? Or the less-interesting to the media but likely-true lobbyist-influence buzz? Because NB's poll did not differentiate, I had to average my 2 answers, yielding (once-again) an even-more-meaningless result than a NOTA choice (which is always meaningful) would have yielded. I'll say it again, NB-polls would be improved if they included a NOTA choice. Always.

A corruption-story the TV media will-not cover.
You need a button that....
February 22, 2008 - 15:45 ET by paddy...says: "Until the next one"
I went with "already"
February 22, 2008 - 16:29 ET by FastEdknowing what was being asked - the McCain hit piece ;)
And, it kinda points out the irrelevance of the new yellow tabloid and the rest of the msm(Lsm) in regards to pushing their agenda. Their power is slipping away and as much as they try to carry the water, their pail is full of holes.

I noticed the Local News stations are still running with it
February 24, 2008 - 11:54 ET by JayTeeAfter the National news Orgs. get front and Center with McCain/NYT's rehash, the Local news stations follow up on it.
Just last night, a Local Baltimore station put Obama front and center with his "Mortgage" campaign comment (with BHO Video) with a story on Foreclosures. So the Local alphabet networks jump on the bandwagon long after the National MSM parks the wagon.
The MSM works the public like propaganda Guru's.
