the irony of all this is, even though you and your fellow gripers will rail against the impending election of president obama, you too will stand to benefit from his efforts.
i believe in accountability. too bad we can't insist every person who voted for president bush isn't obligated to pay the bills he has generated. ps, i love the simpsons but staying proudly ignorant paints a big yellow L on your forehead.
How am I going to be better off if my tax rate goes up? How am I going to be better off if my company contracts because it is cheaper to move operations overseas? How am I going to be better off if the government takes care of me and I no longer have the motivation to work hard?
When he implements socialized healthcare, he'll caution the big companies to continue coverage of their employees, but they won't. Not if they want to stay competitive.
We will restore the moral standing that we had when Bill Clinton was President - Barack Obama. 10/30/08
If you beleive anything said by a politician, I have some nice ocean front property here in Arkansas to sell you. And how can you tell what politician to vote for if you dont at least believe a small part or some things. It boils down to teh fact we are all sinners and lie and we need to look to ones fruits to tell teh character of a man.
it was the present president who has crushed the life out of america with gobs of debt. it doesn't matter who gets in. someone has to pay for this mess.
look past your borders. you don't have to be as commie as canada, but we are doing well thanks to not being so greedy.
why does it have to be about YOU? maybe you should start thinking about your country for a change.
It shouldn't be about the selfish capitalist called, Hermano. It's about ME, Karma. I want a piece of his pie because I suck at making pies. I want another piece just to punish the bastard for holding out on me. Want me to grab you a piece while I'm at it? :-)
With all of your messiahs proposals and programs, who is going to pay for all this?????? You talk about "gobs of debt", try multiplying it 3 times under the messiah......guess who is going to pay....you and I thats who.....WAKE UP!!!!!
Hey candidate for botox, We are thinking about our country. We are thinking that we must do everything we can to make sure it does not turn into a socialist country that robs the people who want to improve themselves and their country of the means and initiative to accomplish that.
Feel free to sit on your butt all day and do nothing but do not expect me to pay for your lazy ass lifestyle.
I have a little political science education for you:
The President does not set the budget for America - Congress does. The President presents Congress with a wish list and Congress (starting in the House) presents spending Bills to the President for his signature. All he can do is veto them.
The "gobs of debt" came from the Dimocrat Congress, not the President.
Thanks for playing "America's Constitution". Better luck next time.
they will not admit to the absolute failure of their democrat controlled congress.....smoke and mirrors for the ignorant. Dodd, Frank...et al....should be in PRISON!!
They will be cleared of all wrong-doing and it will be all President Bush's fault. The Raines - Gorelick co-chaired committee will find out where the blame should go.
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last." - Sir Winston Churchill
You're absolutely right. I've asked a lot of people if they know how the whole mess came about and I RARELY find people who do. Most people, probably MSM cows, just stare blankly at me when I mention names like Dodd, Schumer, Waters, Gorelick, Raines, etc. If the MSM hasn't told them about it, most people remain totally ignorant about what screw-ups the Dems are in government.
The present national debt can be traced back to our first communist president FDR. We had debt before him but he put into place the giveaway welfare programs we are saddled with today.
Ignorance on parade. You know about as much about the federal deficit as you do global climate.
The federal debt has been growing monotonically year-over-year since 1965 except for one interval: The first 5 years the Republicans controlled the Congress, FY 1996 - 2001, when the Republican reformers elected in 1994 held sway. Before that time back to 1965 and since, it has been business as usual, spend, spend , spend. Prior to 1965, back to the foundation of the current Republic, debt was stable, only expanding in time of war. Since 1965, the federal debt has been growing essentially exponentially, excepting the interruption mentioned above.
Other authors have already pointed out that Congress, and not the President, controls spending. To suggest that Bush 43 is somehow to blame for this ignores the basic fact: Its been going on since before Bush entered politics. One might better ask, what changed in 1965 to ignite this debt growth? Those of us who remember this time will tell you: "The Great Society" social programs of Lyndon Johnson and the liberal Democrats who captured the government in the election of 1964 were enacted in 1965, and have done nothing but expand since. I submit these programs are the source of this problem. It will only be addressed when these programs are curtailed.
Let's start with you. Whatever you earn now, 75 percent will now be automatically deducted to help other people on top of whatever taxes you were paying before. Don't complain, it's for the common good. You're not "greedy", are you?
And your car, assuming you have one, will be repossessed by the governement. Don't you care about global warming? You will now take public transportation to work. Or a bike. It's for the others past our borders.
That's a nice house/apartment you live in. Too bad that many more people can't afford one themselves. Well, you will now have lots of company because homeless folks will now be living there as well. It's not fair for you to have all that space while others freeze.
Gee, this is great! Thinking about others and making them share (by force of law) is wonderful! Soon we will all be toiling in the rice paddies for the good of our brothers!
Did Obama say anything different from what he said in debates or campagining in the last two years? I mean unless he did a complete 180 on everything he believes in I thought it would be a waste of my time to hear the same stuff I've heard.
I guess we know where your head was stuck. Was it cozy up there with Matthews, Olbermann and the rest of the MSM? I don't make choices based on a glitzy infomercial.
I was always taught that if it looks like shit and smells like shit, there is no need to taste it. You can go drink the kool-aid someplace else. The only people with the "loser" tattoo will be the ones who chose style over substance. The empty suit with neither the experience or accomplishments to cover a bar napkin will only serve to take a hard turn to the left and socialism. No thanks! You can keep that "hope & change" which looks a lot like the topic in my first sentence without the Obamunist goggles on.
Thomas Jefferson~ "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not!"
...my clients either give up, go bankrupt or overseas? It doesn't matter that I'll be raking in other taxpayers money in the form of refundable tax credits. All of Obama's welfare will still be less than my mortgage payment. His economic plan (Marxism) doesn't do much for those of us who have no wish to work for the government or his pork, excuse me, "favored" infastructure "investments".
Increase the capital gains rate in the US and more
Americans will send their capital elsewhere. That means
sending jobs elsewhere, so that even people with no capital to invest
lose employment opportunities.
Government cannot single out a segment of society to tax for the benefit of the remainder. If you own stock in a company, how can you forfeit earnings for the benefit of non-investors? And how will the proposals affect pension plans of those holding corporate stock?
I'm sorry - I thought you called yourself "abeautifulperson" but after reading your post I see I read it wrong. My mistake.
Consider this, little beady eyed commie wannabe: when the pilgrims first came over to this country to settle, they decided to help each other and agreed to grow what they could and then store their crops communally. As can be imagined, the slugs among them (you recognize the breed, of course, being closely related I'm guessing?) sat on their fat lazy butts waiting for a hand-out from the hard work of others and ultimately the experiment failed. Miserably.
So Bradford portioned the land between the pilgrims and told them to plant what they wanted and keep everything the harvested for themselves then sell or trade in order to benefit each other. And amazingly enough, the colony thrived!
SOCIALISM DOESN'T WORK! On any scale! How many times do morons have to give it a shot before they figure that out?
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." - Paul (Rom. 13:1)
Rush actually did talk about this either yesterday or the day before. That's where I heard it so I went just now to find it. I googled pilgrim+property and found this article.
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." - Paul (Rom. 13:1)
I listened to Walter a couple of months ago on CSPAN, he made a great case for Excessive Greed. One example the farmer in Idaho who wakes up at 5am to work his farm to put food on the plate of some guy in NY. Why because he is worried that the guy in NY will go hungry, no because of his own self interest.
How could you believe in accountability and vote for a guy who is giving people money they didn't earn, who is going to have the government pay for your medical costs, who refuses to be held accountable for 20 years of attending an afrocentric church with an anti american pastor, who refuses to admit to a host of radical friends and associates, who voted "present" 130 times while an Illinois state senator instead of being accountable, and who won't even show his real birth certificate?
Oh I get it. You made a funny! Well, I don't find it so humorous.
I don't buy anything from infomercials and I sure wouldn't chose a political leader based on one.
You make a great point. If we elect Obama it will really help us. After the next four years of inept foreign policy, surrender in Iraq, a resurgence of terrorism, terrorist strikes at home, executive indecisiveness, crushing economic measures, socialism, job loss, inflation, and emigration of the rich voters will be so ticked at the dems that they'll be lucky to get a mayorship. The whole dem party is going to crumble if he's elected and that can only be good for America. We just need to endure four years of pure hell...
Austrailia is one step from officially censoring the internet across all of Austrailia. True fact. The government will decide what's okay and what's not. Can you say "China syndrome"? The Fairness Doctrine is lurking just around the corner folks.
I fear for this country if Barry is in office even one day.
Thanks for the support. I keep telling people the same theory and you're the first to really support (or deny) it (I usually get a "we'll see"). Do you know where you read that article? I would love to see it...
Debating the modern emotion-based liberal is impossible..they are so profane, steeped in the petty and ignorant of economic or political history...its a waste of time. Its like teaching a dog Algebra.
They are sold on secular socialism, they are always angry, they are never satisfied, they think LBJ and Carter never lived, that the trillions spent to "equalize or whatever the lib buzz word is this year" society since the Great Society never happened, they always start with profanity or calling you dumb, they are not happy people and will die that way.
On TV they gang up and talk over you, they spit out serial distortions so fast time never allows the truth to emerge, (ooops, time is up again).
Elections? They use tombstone names and accuse us of suppressing the vote. The last year of any Repub admin is another soup-line depression...its all so tiresome.
They are masters of serial assertions that are FALSE! They spit them out along with profanity and juvenile personal attacks month after month and year after year.
When caught they always point to other bad behavior to justify their own! Its maddening.
They can only be exposed and defeated. The mental disorder of modern liberalism cannot be treated. Every website should auto delete the silly posts that contribute nothing to finding the whole truth...ooops, I forgot, truth died along with the network media.
That is the greatest tragedy of our times...truth is an unwelcome guest, just not the goal anymore...its so sad...and so deadly for any culture.
i am dying to know where all these rich voters will emigrate to. i hear there are great tax havens in dubai. good riddance to fair weather americans. ( "gee, if i am not making maximum profit, i'm outta here" ).
Remember that no matter how things are, they can always get much worse. I'd say five terrorist attacks under Clinton against us or our interests (WTC #1, Kenyan Embassy, Tanzanian Embassy, USS Cole, Kohbar Towers) and zero under the current pres since 9/11 (let's remember that the planning for that mostly happened under Clinton) means that things can be a lot worse. Also, the economy didn't get worse until the dems took Congress. The facts that Congress has power of the purse (as prescribed in the Constitution, which Obama should know since he majored in Contitutional Law at Harvard) and is the only branch that can pass laws means that it's their policies that have created this mess, at least more than the pres (who must follow the laws given by Congress).
The rich could emigrate to Ireland. Nice, beutiful place and a corporate tax rate of 11%. They will take their jobs and their tax revenue with them and give it to another country. Glad you're ready to admit that we're keeping our fairweather Americans now because you just conceded that the climate under the current pres is fair weather and they'll leave when Obama makes the weather stormy and cold. I love when liberal faulty logic proves mine right :)
"Remember that no matter how things are, they can always get much worse. Wonderful.
Unfortunately, it won't register with dimwits like ABP, who are just broken records of blinding, mindless, removed-from-reality falsehoods and talking points.
There are all sorts of spots around the globe where you can either keep most of your earnings or hide them from the tax nazis. Apparently you do not know how to make a large income or you would know how easy it is to move your capital to safe havens and then live off the proceeds in a low cost country.
The other tax dodge is to 'retire' and live off your proceeds. Many foreign countries do not tax 'retirement income'.
My wife and I are taking option number 2. We're actually retireing and taking advantage of a lovely country's tax code and low costs to live very comfortably beyond your ability to rape my wallet.
Most of us here don't have our head stuck in the sand, we've been following the campaign since the beginning. We don't need a one-sided commercial to tell us what Obama stands for: allowing for investigations of people who dare question his plans, denying access to tv stations that dare ask hard questions, not condemning a supporter that hangs the competition in effigy, discouraging hard work by taking from the worker to give to someone who hasn't worked so hard, allowing babies who survive abortion to be left untreated.
No thanks.

“The beauty of our system isn’t that we have the right to vote. No, the nice thing is that people who are too dumb or lazy or uninformed to bother casting a ballot aren’t compelled to vote.” —Burt Prelutsky
Those who have their heads stuck in the sand are the ones who blindly support the socialist agenda of the left in direct opposition to the Constitution. The Constitution defines our form of government and it is NOT socialism nor is it a democracy...it is a Republic. Our founding fathers recognized that our liberties derive from our Creator and not from man nor his governments. If you on the left cannot understand that and desire tyranny then I would advise you move to China or Russia or find some other place to set up your "utopia" apart from my Country. I don't need to watch Obama's 30 minute infomercial to know for what he stands. We have his writings and have heard many other of his words. What he is sellling is not American.

I believe in accountability too. So, I would like to know, WHAT is Barack Hussein Obama hiding???

What do you really know about the guy? Nothing... All he has been saying for almost 2 years now is NOTHING. Why waste another 30 minutes of my life watching NOTHING? I would rather be accused of having my head stuck in the sand than located where yours appears to be...
Voters need to be made aware of this paper tiger and his hokiewood casting. What do we really know about what he believes? As his wife says 'this is the first time I am proud of America' or something similar. First time when it is about you? How many countries do we help? WW1, WW2... Guess SHE never had a family member in those wars ehh? First time proud is disgusting! I CAN NOT believe the media are shoe-horning in a US hating person as PRESIDENT! WHO is he going to appoint!? People he trusts... and look who HE trusts prior to cleaning up his ACT for his run for president.
too bad we can't insist every person who voted for president bush isn't obligated to pay the bills he has generated - I will gladly do that if you pay for the bills congress generated. You do know the President has no say in how much money is spent or what it is spent on, except through his pen. So the congress made these bills. Pay up buddy. Ignorance on parade.
I would have tuned in if I thought I was going to hear something new; like:
I want to win and achieve victory in Iraq.
I want to be truthful and forthcoming about all my past relationships.
LAT: Tear down those barriers, and release that tape!
Yes, I will support my brother in Kenya, and my aunt in Boston -- I'm rich enough. And I'm tired of simply exploiting them in my memoirs.
Not only did Ayers perform despictable acts; he's a despictable, unrepentent terrorist that needs to recant his past deeds, and I'm sorry our paths ever crossed.
Same for that Palistenian guy I supported, with Ayers, at his going-away party.
PA residents aren't bitter, don't cling to their guns and religion, and I can't believe I ever said such hateful things about honest, hard-working American citizens.
I want ACORN to return every dime I ever sent them; and I want all federal funds to be cut immediately to this dishonest organization, and every single one of their bogus registrations nullified.
Here's a list of my very specific accomplishments in public office: bills that I submitted and were approved; specific Republicans I worked with; and projects accomplished.
But you're right, atf -- I did bury my head in the sand, and failed to hear these things. When, exactly, were they said last night? eh?

So true. Hope the voters can see through pure BS. BS is pretty hard to see through when the media helps make it so thick instead of wiping it away with the truth; like the media SHOULD do!
So, Einstein, it is necessary to repeatedly watch His Highness, on what amounts to a paid infomercial for himself? If we don't do this, WE are the problem? I know who Barack Obama is and what he stands for; I don't need to watch him in his narcissistic paid advertisement to know anything more about him.
In terms of "accountability". Do you promise to send me a check to cover my increased taxes under Obama? That's accountability. In truth, Barack Obama believes in exactly the opposite of accountability. He's openly favoring the forceful taking of money from one group of people and giving it to another group of people who did not earn it. Now, Einstein, what exactly does that have to do with "accountability"?
Obama has never benefitted anybody but himself. Take a look at his old district in Chicago and tell me who exactly he benefitted. The policies he is endorsing will benefit nothing but the government itself.
Wait until he gets started on educational reparations, a big tennet of little Billy Ayers, and all the federal money for education starts flowing into inner cities only. You'll hear the screams from the NEA rank and file from coast to coast. A lot of people have never looked at what this guy really believes. They've accepted the whitewash he has applied and the MSM stands by with cans of white paint to keep the image pure and buckets of mud for any opposition. We've never had a candidate about whom we knew so little. The MSM should be ashamed of the poor job they've done on educationing the electorate.
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last." - Sir Winston Churchill
“So McCain and Obama are walking through an inner city area and a man comes up to McCain and says “I’m hungry can you spare some change?” McCain stops, reaches in his pocket, pulls out his wallet and gives the guy a $20 then scribbles a phone number on the back of a business card. McCain says “Here you go - money for lunch and the number of the local employment office - tell’em I sent you.” A few blocks later another man asks Obama for some money. Barack reaches into McCain’s pocket and gives the man $100 of McCain’s money and then writes on the back of his business card “vote for me and there will be plenty more from where that came from”.
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference.
The MARINES don't have that problem."

Fortunately my nephew is here visiting and we went out to dinner last night. Deprived me of even the opportunity - as if I would have considered watching anyway.
What a tiresome "I love me and if you don't you're racist" tribute to himself.
I strongly believe that if there is even one so-called "undecided" person out there still, they're either idiots, deaf-blind-stupid, or living under a rock. I can't believe last night's "it's all about me! it's all about me!" wast of time garnered any votes.
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." - Paul (Rom. 13:1)
Speaking of fortunate engagements: My mother-in-law dropped in for a surprise visit; then I had my IRS audit; followed by a visit to the Dentist to get my eye teeth removed; before I rushed home to put out the chimney fire; with help from my brother-in-law that I just bailed out of the country jail; before I had to return to work for some emergency meetings that had to be completed before midnight. All-in-all, I think I came out ahead by missing this forced-feeding event.

You nailed Obama's narcissisism and arrogance with this phrase. Well done.
This extremely strange and untrustworthy man exemplifies what Carl Jung would call "The Trickster". And he's dragging along with him a cast of malcontents, Marxists, looney tunes radicals (Ayers, et al), many of whom will end up in his administration, including his Cabinet. We are about to witness the rape of the American body politic.
And the MSM has been party to all this from the beginning.
The truth is that the public person that Obama presents himself as is a complete fantasy, a fictional character created by David Axelrod and others whose names we shall never know. In reality, he has the heart of a fascist dictator, a reality we shall see within the first two months of his Presidency, should he win the White House.
Work, why work? LOL. Free home, free meds and healthcare, free food. Also $40 govt. digital converter box. Were set! So much for America's productivity... here comes Europe mentality.
Fox News had someone on last night that lived through the Depression. When asked to compare that economic situation with today's economy, I recall one great line: "Poverty? You don't know what poverty is. Poverty isn't defined by having a smaller or fewer computers in your home".

My grandparents lived thru the depression and told me the stories. Try having to eat lard sandwiches everyday or going without shoes type of poverty. What we have now is nowhere near that.
I grew up hearing about their struggles during that time. One of my grandfathers was in the Army, and even with that "job security," money, food and everything else was extremely tight. He used to go hunting a lot to supplement their food, and my Mom used to tell me about having holes in the bottom of her shoes and having to put cardboard inside her shoes to keep out the mud, dirt, etc.
Things aren't great today with the economy, but they are not even close to what people had to deal with during the Depression. I sometimes think that some real hardship and adversity isn't always a bad thing...It makes people appreciate all the more when times are good, and they learn not to take the good times for granted. I think we all can afford to be reminded of that lesson again, today.
"...peace is the highest aspiration of the American People. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it, we will never surrender for it, now or ever." President Ronald Reagan, January 20, 1981
The depression lasted for quite some time-- MY Dad and Mom moved to Boston because he found a job there. I was born there. After 6 months the job ended because it was a contract job. In those days they did not have to tell the prospective employees anything. My family finally went on welfare. Nothing like today. I do not remember whether the cycle was weekly, monthly or what. I do remember that it was sacks of dried potatos, flour, milk and believe it or not, a carton of cigarettes They were called "Twenty Grand". I do not know if that was the true name, but everyone called them that. My Dad sold the cigarettes for money for his family. There was a local grocery chain named "First National Stores". Somehow the local manager was allowed to let folks charge some of the goods. My father's loyalty to FINAST lasted until they went out of business, many years later. My brother was 6 years older than I. My mother was a good seamstress, so she changed the sizes of my brothers clothes so that I could wear them when he outgrew them.
My mother was also a gifted cook and of Italian heritage. We ate a lot of bread and pasta. Also some foods that are expensive today were very inexpensive back in the mid to late 30s. My Mom would cook up a batch of rice and mix it with Dole pineapple. My sibs and I thought it to be the greatest treat anyone could have. I never knew we were "poor" until later in life, because we were not poor except in a financial way. Both my Dad an older brother went off to war in WW2. I worked on a milk truck, before school in the morning and later on an ice truck. I earned about $5 bucks a week with tips. That bought a lot of bread and milk in those days. We were actually quite happy most of the time.
I think I was happier when I was poor than later on in life, and I think that is because we took greater pleasure out of the simpler things because---that's the way it was!
You may not agree with all of the following, but that's the way it was----
We had no rap--songs were love songs except some of the war songs (Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition)
We had no television, no %^^$^ cell phones, no smut in the movies, but we had loads of heroes (John Wayne, Ronnie, Jimmy, etc.) who never said "fuck" in their films.
I never knew about the capacity of various sanitary napkins nor did I care. I never knew or cared about Midol and why it was needed. It was advertised in women's magazines in those days.
There was a "bad" side to some of the above, but in my world, the good far outweighed the bad. I didn't learn about alternate life styles until I was a teen.
I wanted things to be more "open". I got my wish--shame on me.
God bless America--down with socialism, false accustaions of racism, bigotry and xenophobia. Up with America and its "good old boy" values.
Down with illegal aliens stealing jobs, sick ass Americans encouraging it. Down with the welfare mentality and socialist programs.
On 9/1/2001 and in the following days, I thought that America was heading back on track to the America I loved, The patriotism and love of country was seen and heard all over this land. School boys too young to enlist asked me if there was a way they could go in the military and avenge our country.
It didn't last long. All of our distractions, (cell phones, texting, PC games, more Goddamned TV shows than one can watch in a lifetime, Christian principles and teaching banned from schools, homosexuality changed from a defense of those who practiced it to a recruiting enterprise in all our schools and youth athletics).
Now, decent people are the outcasts, the downtrodden. A judge in Massachusetts locks up a father because he objects to his elementary school child being taught about sodomy and its "benefits", in school without the parents knowledge. Perhaps, understandable because it is Massachusetts which is quite like San Francisco, but it certainly should not be acceptable by the parents nor should it ever be mandated by an officer of the court. You silly bastard, your job is to protect America and uphold our laws.
I predict, based on the election results, there will be a surge of violence in this country. Even the "good guys" will become violent, just to win back the right to live in a decent Christian America with rights to decide what their chidren will be taught in school.
F*** diversity. God bless American Judeo-Christian principles and laws. God bless America.
Obama and his media friends have oversold this "misery" theme. This country is not in the shambles that they portray. Before this capital market crisis, the economy was, in fact, doing just fine. The frame of reference for an ideal economy seems to have been adjusted to that late 1990's period when, "irrational exhuberance" ruled the day. That was a bubble economy and market which could not be sustained. It was a house of cards and the bubble burst before Bush took office. Since that time, though, the media elites have managed to blame Bush for the inability to recreate the euphoria that everyone held. Obama has continued this mantra, going so far as to say the "last eight years" have been a disaster. Nothing is further from the truth. Unfortunately, too many numbskulls believe this story, and it will ultimately hurt us all.
LOL. You didn't have to grow up in the Depression to appreciate that -- just have parents who never recovered from the depression would do that. I remember cardboard shoes -- I thought that was the norm! And food -- you had to be inventive, there. No cereal --Milk toast (toast, warm milk, a little sugar); sugar bread (no jelly); meat once a week; dumplings; and a lot of mashed potatoes.

I would get more joy out of watching my neighbors dog shit in my yard than watching this clown descend from the heavens to deliver his savior proclamation.
Thomas Jefferson~ "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not!"
I watched O'Reilly. As usual. Even though he drives me crazy with his egocentric view of politics. At least he has some common sense, usually.
Does anyone know when the market share numbers come out? I am dying to know how many people refused to watch that self-aggrandizing display, paid for with money gained by cheating!
"Fool me once - shame on you... fool me twice - shame on me." ~ my Father
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" ~ Martin Luther King Jr.
I was home but chose not to watch. I usually watch what the other side has to say but I decided not to because I felt it was so terribly arrogant to put on such a spectacle. Not to mention that the $ he used to fund this were from illegal donors.
Did he finally explain his relationship to Wright/Rezko/Ayers/Khalid?
No? He just talked about he was the one to correct our so called moral bearing? What an arrogant pile of cr@p he is.
The most inexperienced person on this ticket with Socialist ideas and values that will destroy the economy and wreck this country should NOT even be in this position.
Thanks a lot MSM, you truly lost what ever ethics you might have possessed.
...the income level for his "patriotic" tax hike went from $250,000 to $200,000?
When revenues from his new taxes next year fail to materialize, how long do you expect that $200,000 will become $150,000, and then $150,000 becomes $100,000? (Biden has already let it slip that it will be in the mid-100's)
Remember Al Gore's "millionaires" tax? It started at $250,000 too. When asked "If it's a 'millionaires tax', why does it start at $250,000?" Al Gore responded with a straight face, "If you make $250,000 for 4 years, then you're a millionaire." Well gee, then even your average freeway-exit panhandler is a "millionaire"; probably more so since he doesn't even pay income taxes!
Oh, and he again said that those making over $200,000 are being "asked" to "pay a bit more". I'm sorry, but being "asked" implies that you have the opportunity to say "no", and we know that "no" is not a word the IRS recongnises.
Remember, the Alternative Minimum Tax was implimented to capture a mere 21 "rich" taxpayers! Next year, it will hit 26 million! Liberal greed knows no end.
Hell no I didn't watch the "Obama" bull flop session, I have my health to think about. My blood pressure is on the high side, no need to make things worse. From what I have been hearing this guy, "Obama", is going to change the rotation of the earth. He can do that? No I wouldn't watch, couldn't watch, for my sake and that of nearby structures and surrounding landscaping, I shouldn't watch. I would turn green and destroy things. Did I say the guy "Obama" is a fraud?
I'm with you on this one, Roscoe - if I had watched, I'd be out shopping for a new TV this morning. Maybe that's the obamination's plan to stimulate the economy - piss off everyone so much they destroy their surroundings in anger, then have to shop to replace everything they destroyed.
Well, probably not. But it sure makes more sense than any of his other idiotic Marxist economic schemes.

We moved from IL to Dallas TX in the late 80's. LOVE it! Home prices still way cheaper than anywhere we have seen and much better built for the same money. No bubble crash here; homes are a great deal since they were never over inflated.

Anxious to see how low the ratings will be for the Obamunist sermon. Now if we can just keep Philadelphia RED MANIA going for another 5 days... That would counter Pittsburgh, and the rest of the state easily goes RED

Hey Rick...this is very spooky what all the left is getting away with so far...via liberal judge rulings regarding the legality of voters who aren't really registered at the addresses they have or have duplicate votes in....
When I saw this about the high school kids getting free busing to the polls, I'm going what aren't thy going to do...I am furious...this is not how elections were meant to be...you take the responsibility all by yourself to vote, whether you are older or need a ride from a neighbor, or just asking for an absentee ballot...but this busing in is absolutely getting beyond belief...how many times are these people going to vote I wonder after the early voting...
Look at the remarks from that one kid who thinks spreading the wealth is the right thing to do...God help us all!
I pray the republicans are on top of this everywhere...that is all I can do.

gobs of debt
October 30, 2008 - 12:35 ET by wizardjrI have a little political science education for you:
The President does not set the budget for America - Congress does. The President presents Congress with a wish list and Congress (starting in the House) presents spending Bills to the President for his signature. All he can do is veto them.
The "gobs of debt" came from the Dimocrat Congress, not the President.

Ignorance on parade.
October 30, 2008 - 14:10 ET by NL207Ignorance on parade.
Good points, you'll set the example
October 30, 2008 - 18:54 ET by JnobleLet's start with you.

October 30, 2008 - 09:49 ET by HelenSI'm sorry - I thought you called yourself "abeautifulperson" but after reading your post I see I read it wrong.

DEBATING THE MODERN LIBERAL
October 30, 2008 - 18:13 ET by reelman46Debating the modern emotion-based liberal is impossible..they are so profane, steeped in the petty and ignorant of economic or political history...its a waste of time.

Dems sneer at the past and their policies make a worse future
October 30, 2008 - 12:34 ET by ChrisMillsABP,
Remember that no matter how things are, they can always get much worse.
Any more flimsy arguments, ABP? This is fun :)

October 30, 2008 - 12:47 ET by wizardjrThere are all sorts of spots around the globe where you can either keep most of your earnings or hide them from the tax nazis.

October 30, 2008 - 09:56 ET by ChaitealoverMost of us here don't have our head stuck in the sand, we've been following the campaign since the beginning.
No thanks.

Those who have their heads
October 30, 2008 - 10:04 ET by bradbenj5952Those who have their heads stuck in the sand are the ones who blindly support the socialist agenda of the left in direct opposition to the Constitution.

When, exactly, were they said last night? eh?

October 30, 2008 - 10:49 ET by SmartypantsSo, Einstein, it is necessary to repeatedly watch His Highness, on what amounts to a paid infomercial for himself?

You nailed Obama's narcissisism and arrogance with this phrase. Well done.
This extremely strange and untrustworthy man exemplifies what Carl Jung would call "The Trickster". And the MSM has been party to all this from the beginning.
The truth is that the public person that Obama presents himself as is a complete fantasy, a fictional character created by David Axelrod and others whose names we shall never know. Exactly! My parents lived through the Depression and...
October 30, 2008 - 10:39 ET by PrairieSkyI grew up hearing about their struggles during that time.
The depression lasted for quite some time--
October 30, 2008 - 11:13 ET by misterbillThe depression lasted for quite some time-- MY Dad and Mom moved to Boston because he found a job there.
Just an afterthought
October 30, 2008 - 11:43 ET by misterbillYou may not agree with all of the following, but that's the way it was----
We had no rap--songs were love songs except some of the war songs (Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition)
Obama and his media friends
October 30, 2008 - 11:13 ET by SmartypantsObama and his media friends have oversold this "misery" theme. Unfortunately, too many numbskulls believe this story, and it will ultimately hurt us all.
cardboard inside her shoes
October 30, 2008 - 11:15 ET by ThisnThatLOL.

October 30, 2008 - 10:08 ET by JohnMcGrew...the income level for his "patriotic" tax hike went from $250,000 to $200,000?

Maybe that's the obamination's plan to stimulate the economy - piss off everyone so much they destroy their surroundings in anger, then have to shop to replace everything they destroyed.
Well, probably not. But it sure makes more sense than any of his other idiotic Marxist economic schemes.
I demand real change - force a Democrat to speak the truth!

October 30, 2008 - 10:16 ET by SemperrightIf I wanted to see BO's vision of America I would look at south side of Chicago. He helped them out a bunch. Fixed em right up.

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?
Body count in the last six months:
292 killed (murdered) in Chicago;
221 killed in Iraq.
Chicago.... Who Runs it:
Senators: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin
Rep: Jesse Jackson Jr.,
Illinois Gov: Rod Blogojevich,
Illinois House leader Mike Madigan,
Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike),
Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley)
.....our leadership in Illinois.....all Democrats.
Of course, they're all blaming each other!
Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!
State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.
Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.
Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.
This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And
he's gonna 'fix' Washington politics for us?

IL to TX also for ME!
October 30, 2008 - 11:38 ET by MaximusBraveheartWe moved from IL to Dallas TX in the late 80's. LOVE it! Home prices still way cheaper than anywhere we have seen and much better built for the same money. No bubble crash here; homes are a great deal since they were never over inflated.

October 30, 2008 - 12:03 ET by LionKingI came down in 1984 to attend grad school at SMU and have not lived outside of Texas since. In fact, my bride of 20 years and my 4 sons are all TRUE Texans ... [ I got here as fast as I could!!! ]
I have enjoyed Texas. There are some things I miss from Chicago ... Greek town and "The Parthenon". Art Insitute, Field Museum, Shedd's Aquarium, Wrigley Field,...
About Texas
October 30, 2008 - 12:19 ET by cocodrieI've stayed in Texas a number of times but have too many roots here to leave. Texas is A-OK.
"all TRUE Texans ... [ I got here as fast as I could!!!"
October 30, 2008 - 12:26 ET by vrwc13...well it took us a little longer, but after one NV, 2 CA, one AL: we finally got to Texas and have two true Texans!
Yeah the museums were great, as where the beaches in the summer. And those Chi-town hotdogs! yummmm.
Still root for the Sox.
Love it here in Texas, great housing at affordable costs, and business in booming in Houston. Life is good.

btw: HelenS' post is sad but true. Grew up under "The" Mayor Daley. If it were not for Chicago, Illinois would be a solid Red State... http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/vote2004/countymap.htm
strict gun laws too
October 30, 2008 - 11:09 ET by dtaChicago also has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. It is enlightening to see how that has worked out for them.

Can't Wait To See The Ratings
October 30, 2008 - 10:18 ET by BigSpoon65BigSpoon65
Anxious to see how low the ratings will be for the Obamunist sermon. Can't imagine that most of his base made up of the welfare class, indigents, felons, and hollywood elitists really care enough to watch just to boost his ratings. All they care about is being in the bread line when the Obamunist is spreading other peoples wealth around.

SOME people have been evaluating 0bama for months, even years, now--not much a snow-job infomercial's going to do to change the conclusions drawn by genuine investigation.
Oh, and if you move the mirror a bit, you might realize where you actually saw that "big yellow L".

October 30, 2008 - 10:57 ET by DeskpilotSpent the 8 - 8:30 time making the last of RNC VICTORY phone calls in the RED western suburbs of Philadelphia. Nobody minded calls in that time frame, but we shut it off at exactly 8:30. NO WAY we were going to interupt the Phillies WORLD SERIES 1/3 CAHMPIIONSHIP game.
Now if we can just keep Philadelphia RED MANIA going for another 5 days... Imaging the Messiah's face if all the people who lined Broad St. last night, and during tomorrows parade, found a way to vote RED, there just might be a chance in Philadelphia. That would counter Pittsburgh, and the rest of the state easily goes RED
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read it in English, You're welcome - Deskpilot, AM(H)1 (AW), USN (Ret)

October 30, 2008 - 13:58 ET by bigtimerHey Rick...this is very spooky what all the left is getting away with so far...via liberal judge rulings regarding the legality of voters who aren't really registered at the addresses they have or have duplicate votes in....
<edit> by the way Rick, it didn't go unnoticed by me who are involved with sponsoring this...
Look at what the AFL-CIO is and has done with busing people everywhere early and often.

October 30, 2008 - 15:06 ET by FoolicanI subjected myself to one and a half hours of An Inconvenient Flibberdejibbit last year for my AP Computer Science (climate models) and my AP English (persuasive essay) classes.
