If you were a cable news executive, and one of your hosts was going on vacation, would you allow far-left entertainers to fill in?

As TVNewser reported Friday, Rosie O'Donnell and Jane Lynch are actually guest-hosting for CNN's Piers Morgan next week:

Both MSNBC and CNN have devolved into a feeding frenzy over Rush Limbaugh’s crack last week about a Georgetown law student, with hosts on both networks scolding Limbaugh for his words and fantasizing the conservative radio powerhouse will get knocked off the airwaves.

But an MRC review finds those networks had no negative reaction to far more vulgar and sexist language used by HBO host Bill Maher. Instead, both networks have hosted Maher repeatedly (12 times in the past year) in softball formats where the journalists ritually flatter the vulgarian: “Your show is brilliant,” “I love your show,” “You’re the funniest, smartest guy around.”

On his Monday night show, CNN's Piers Morgan branded Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) as "one of the most judgmental people in American politics." Bachmann shot back that he was being "absolutely rude."

Morgan's interview with her was relatively tame until he broached the topic of homosexuality, where he promptly accused Bachmann of being "judgmental" and "vociferous" in her views. [Video below the break.]

Dear Mr. Morgan,

I am disturbed by your ongoing double standard when it comes to coverage of political rhetoric. On your show, you recently called Rush Limbaugh out for his insulting comment about a Georgetown law school student: “Limbaugh’s disgusting comments are the work of an archaic old dinosaur living in a warped, ugly swamp, who thinks it’s okay to degrade decent young women for sport and ratings. Well, it isn’t it. Shame on you, Rush Limbaugh.” Fair enough. However you have seemingly turned a blind eye to the similar rhetoric of one of your guests – Bill Maher.

After Tuesday's Arizona GOP primary, CNN's Piers Morgan accused Gov. Jan Brewer (R-Ariz.) of "jabbing him [Obama] in the chest and threatening all sorts of things," in reference to Brewer's tarmac meeting with President Obama where she was photographed pointing her finger at him. Brewer immediately called Morgan out for embellishing the story, during the interview early Wednesday morning.

"Now Piers, you don't know what I was saying," she corrected her host. "I was not threatening him." It certainly was not the first time Morgan had characterized the President as a victim of Republican behavior. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

In light of Monday's deadly school shooting in Ohio, both CNN host Piers Morgan and liberal comedian Bill Maher embarked on a lengthy liberal screed against the current gun laws in America. Maher went so far as to castigate gun owners for making their ownership a "theology," on Monday night's Piers Morgan Tonight.

"And Rick Santorum likes to talk about theology. This is a theology in this country. Guns are a religion. They're next to godliness for a lot of people," he ranted. Host Piers Morgan found America's gun laws "incomprehensible" and balked at the "ideological dream" of the right to bear arms. [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

On Thursday night’s Piers Morgan Tonight, host Piers Morgan ended his fluffy interview with former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm (D) by encouraging her to run for higher office.
 
The interview started off in typical Morgan fashion with the former editor of the left-wing Daily Mirror newspaper distorting the facts on the auto bailout in reference to an interview New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) did on Thursday’s episode of Morning Joe on MSNBC: “And the conclusion I drew was he didn't say what he really wanted to say, which is actually the bailout has been a good thing.”  [See video below.  MP3 audio here.]

When CNN's Piers Morgan preached that corporations should consider actions in the national interest over the wants of their "ever-fattening shareholders," New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) called him out for "demagoguing" the issue. In an interview that aired Tuesday night, Morgan suggested that companies like Apple should "take a hit" and bring a percentage of their jobs back to America from China.

Christie also challenged the liberal CNN host to act on his words and "leave CNN, be the CEO of a company, and lead them in a way that's both profitable and beneficial to all the different people you want to be beneficial for." [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

CNN host Piers Morgan joined comedian David Steinberg in mocking the Republican field on Monday night. On his prime time show, Morgan teed up Steinberg to rip the field as a "ship of fools." [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

On Tuesday morning, the anti-Republican abuse continued on CNN as Muslim comedian Dean Obeidallah quipped that "There are people in the Taliban who would call Rick Santorum a radical conservative. I'm not even kidding."

As NewsBusters reported Saturday, CNN's Piers Morgan and Soledad O'Brien accepted an "Obama bump" from singer Roberta Flack at Whitney Houston's funeral.

O'Brien took to Twitter shortly after the incident to defend herself:

After CNN's Soledad O'Brien took some heat a few weeks ago for accepting a high five from Roland Martin as congratulations for skewering Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, you'd think she be careful not to demonstrate such overt partisanship while on the air.

Apparently not, for during CNN's broadcast of Whitney Houston's funeral Saturday, O'Brien and Piers Morgan "Obama bumped" singer Roberta Flack (video follows with commentary):

Leading into a commercial break, CNN's Piers Morgan wished to leave his viewers on "a knife-edge" by assuming the possibility that Rick Santorum is a sexist. Morgan popped the question during his Wednesday night interview with the candidate.

"If Rick Santorum becomes president, does he actually like women?" posed the CNN host, just before a commercial break. On the other side of the break, he asked it again before telling Santorum "I know you do." [Video below the break.]

Appearing as a guest on Thursday's Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN, former CBS News anchor expressed agreement with GOP presidential candidate  Ron Paul in opposing U.S. involvement in the civil war in Syria to protect the civilian population from the terror regime of authoritarian ruler, President Bashar Assad. After describing what he believes should be done to put pressure on Assad, he brought up Congressman Paul's left-leaning views on the Middle East:

A week after he pushed liberal actor Alec Baldwin to enter politics, CNN's Piers Morgan lauded Jerry Springer and told him to "Get into politics." Apparently, Piers Morgan Tonight has become a place to encourage liberal celebrities to run for office.

Alec Baldwin is part of the Hollywood liberal elite, but that didn't stop CNN's Piers Morgan – whose job is to be an objective and fair interviewer – from pressing him to run for office. Morgan slobbered over Baldwin's intelligence and expressed that he is a "political fan" of him in a Wednesday night interview.

"People will be watching this, Alec, saying, look at this guy. He looks razor smart tonight. He lost a bit of weight. He's talking like a president," Morgan kissed up to Baldwin. He mourned that Baldwin's passion for comedy "is a bitter disappointment to political fans of yours like myself who would love to see you run for office." [Video below the break.]

According to CNN's Piers Morgan, former President Jimmy Carter was "right" for criticizing the "self-indulgence and consumption" of many Americans in his infamous 1979 "Malaise Speech."

Morgan might find himself with a minority of Americans who actually favored Carter pointing the finger at the country, but that didn't stop him from blaming the recent financial meltdown on a failure to listen to voices like Carter's. [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

CNN's Piers Morgan never even tried to conceal his support for gay marriage while he hosted "special guest" Rosie O'Donnell for the one-year anniversary of his prime-time CNN show. The Tuesday interview morphed into a GOP-bashing festival as the two liberals derided some Republicans for their "anti-gay" remarks. Morgan never pressed O'Donnell about her past espousal of 9/11 "truther" conspiracies.

O'Donnell slammed America as a "backward nation in many ways" after being egged on by her interviewer on the topic of homosexuality. Morgan had branded certain GOP presidential candidates as "anti-homosexuals" and expressed his dismay at "the virulence of their rhetoric." [Video below the break.]

As NewsBusters previously reported, CNN's Piers Morgan on Tuesday told Andrew Breitbart that he's "notoriously evil about almost everybody."

The following morning, comedian and syndicated radio host Dennis Miller called Morgan out for this affront likening him to "Norah O'Donnell in an ascot" while advising him to check the Neilsen ratings "to see how long people are bumping into [his] show" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):

CNN's Piers Morgan on Tuesday displayed a remarkably horrid bedside manner toward his guest Andrew Breitbart saying "you are notoriously evil about almost everybody."

An obviously shocked Breitbart responded, "Well, I don't think you know me, Piers Morgan. I think we've maybe spent eight seconds together" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Appearing as a guest on Wednesday's Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN ,as he discussed the Occupy Wall Street protests, former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw warned that a "class war" could develop unless "income inequality" is addressed. Brokaw:

After the Parents Television Council (PTC) denounced NBC's appointment of shock jock Howard Stern as a judge on "America's Got Talent," Stern issued his response on Thursday's Piers Morgan Tonight.

"I guess they get their printer out and they make a letterhead and they start to complain that I'm some sort of weird pervert who's going to convert Americans into some kind of zombie sex fiends," Stern mocked the PTC. Appearing as a guest on Wednesday's Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN, former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw recounted some of the rationale behind why the Bush administration believed that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction before the invasion of Iraq, even noting that President Clinton had also believed in the presence of WMD. CNN's Piers Morgan easily could have been mistaken for Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod on his Monday night show. In two separate interviews -- with RNC chairman Reince Priebus and Hollywood Obama supporter Harvey Weinstein -- Morgan kept chipping in on behalf of the President's re-election in 2012.

When RNC chairman Reince Priebus attacked Obama's low poll numbers, Morgan countered that the President has lately garnered "a few ticks in the box" to use in his behalf, including improving jobs numbers and the end of the Iraq War. The CNN host used the same argument in his interview with David Axelrod last week, emphasizing the positives in Obama's record of late. [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore claimed on CNN Tuesday night that he would never question a Republican's patriotism and love for country, although he has done all but actually say those very words in the last decade.

"I would never question a Republican of whether or not they loved America or whether they were patriotic or whatever," Moore claimed innocence on Tuesday's Piers Morgan Tonight. "I would assume that they love this country and I assume that what they're doing is what they believe is best for the country." [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

Yet Moore's past words belie his present claims. Just last year he linked the catastrophic death toll of the Haiti earthquake with what would be a "Republican paradise" of no building codes and regulations there.

Obama's re-election campaign received a huge boost Monday night from CNN's Piers Morgan. The host groveled before Obama's campaign strategist David Axelrod, gushing that "A lot of things are just perfect about Barack Obama."

The interview could have been served on a silver platter for the Obama campaign. Morgan's first question went thus: "I would imagine that you guys are feeling fairly chipper, aren't you? I mean you had an extraordinarily successful week in many ways." [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]
