Liberal Radio Host Mike Papantonio Smears Scalia Elder as Fascist Leader

By Jack Coleman | March 04, 2013 | 20:40

A  A

I always look forward to Mike Papantonio's appearances on radio, since he invariably says something that leaves me shaking my head in bemusement and pity.

Papantonio, an attorney and co-host of the "Ring of Fire" radio show, was guest hosting on Ed Schultz's radio program Friday and talking about the legal challenge to the Voting Rights Act of 1965 before the Supreme Court. (audio clips after page break)

NRA Akin to Terrorists, Prostitutes Sneer Unhinged Ed Schultz Guests

By Jack Coleman | January 15, 2013 | 19:51

A  A

Central liberal tenet -- in lieu of a solid argument, resort to rhetorical hyperventilation.

As you'd expected given the host's default toward bellicosity, two guests on Ed Schultz's radio show yesterday climbed over the top in shabby attempts to smear the National Rifle Association for the thought crime of defending a constitutional right. (audio clips after page break)

O-kay ... Mike Papantonio Compares Tea Party to Invasive Fish That Feasts on Blood

By Jack Coleman | December 07, 2012 | 21:50

A  A

How can you tell when conservatives really annoy a liberal?

When his hyperbole exceeds even the broad parameters of absurdity embraced on the left. Case in point -- attorney and "Ring of Fire" radio show co-host Mike Papantonio's appearance on fellow libtalker Thom Hartmann's show on Wednesday. (audio clip after page break)

Libtalker Mike Papantonio Loathes Weak-Kneed Democrats, Especially Women

By Jack Coleman | May 29, 2012 | 19:15

A  A

Female attorneys may want to think twice before applying at Mike Papantonio's law firm.

Papantonio, who also co-hosts the "Ring of Fire" weekend radio show, was filling in on Ed Schultz's radio program May 25 and complaining with guest Cliff Schecter about what he considers spineless Democrats who aren't aggressive enough against Republicans (audio) --

Mike Papantonio Actually Claims Huffington Post is 'Not Left Leaning'

By Jack Coleman | May 07, 2012 | 12:49

A  A

... which proves one thing, namely that attorney and "Ring of Fire" radio show cohost Mike Papantonio doesn't read The Huffington Post.

How can you tell you're dealing with someone whose politics could not be more obviously, obliviously liberal? When he or she denies being liberal. Conservatives, on the other hand, don't scurry from their conservatism. (audio clips after page break)

Mike Papantonio Talks Down His Unhinged Claim That Fracking 'Killed Thousands of Americans'

By Jack Coleman | April 17, 2012 | 13:58

A  A

There might be hope for libtalker and attorney Mike Papantonio after all.

Papantonio, who co-hosts the weekend "Ring of Fire" radio program with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Sam Seder, was guest hosting on Ed Schultz's radio show on April 12 when he backpedaled on a claim he made about fracking earlier in the month. (audio clips after page break)

Moonbat Alert! Mike Papantonio Claims Fracking Kills 'Thousands of Americans'

By Jack Coleman | April 05, 2012 | 20:03

Move over, Mike Malloy -- you might not be the most unhinged man in media.

Malloy's competition for this dubious distinction comes from Mike Papantonio, co-host of the radio show "Ring of Fire" when he isn't chasing ambulances to drive up billable hours or appearing on MSNBC. (audio clips after page break)

NBC Ignores Death Threats to Koch Brothers, Hyped Threats to Palin-Bashing Author

By Paul Wilson | February 27, 2012 | 12:36

A  A

It’s terrible that an author got death threats, even if he’s a sleazy hack who invaded the privacy of a prominent conservative politician. It’s equally terrible that prominent conservative donors received death threats for how they choose to use their money. But according to NBC, only one of those two stories is worth telling.

In the first case, the network was warning in 2010 of death threats against Sarah Palin-sliming author Joe McGinniss. As for the second, NBC ignored reports of death threats against the libertarian Koch brothers and members of their foundation.

Libtalker Papantonio: Limbaugh, Coulter, Malkin and GOP Are Dimwitted, Anti-Semitic Racists

By Noel Sheppard | February 21, 2012 | 10:39

Libtalker Mike Papantonio - who happens to be a frequent contributor to MSNBC - said on Westwood One's radio program Ring of Fire Saturday that the entire Republican Party, along with prominent conservatives Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Michelle Malkin, are dimwitted, anti-Semitic racists (audio follows with partial transcript and commentary):

New Deal Apologist Mike Papantonio Praises FDR Scheme to Pack Supreme Court

By Jack Coleman | December 30, 2011 | 15:17

A  A

Leave it to a fringe leftist to tout a rarely-defended plan proposed by Franklin Roosevelt.

Angered by Supreme Court rulings that blocked many New Deal initiatives, Roosevelt in 1937 came up with what he considered an ingenious scheme to get around the court -- increasing it from 9 to 15 justices, the additional six most assuredly sharing Roosevelt's politics. Mike Papantonio Compares Donald Trump to 'Banjo Boy' in 'Deliverance'

By Jack Coleman | December 05, 2011 | 21:43

A  A

Once was the time that a dutiful liberal wouldn't dare impugn the downtrodden of Appalachia. Those days are ancient history.

Mike Papantonio, a toxic attorney who co-hosts the "Ring of Fire" radio show with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Sam Seder, had this to say Friday on "The Ed Show" about Donald Trump moderating an upcoming GOP debate in Iowa (video and audio clips after page break) --

Schultz Guest: Koch Brothers 'Purchased' Cain So They Could 'Kill More People' With Toxins

By Mark Finkelstein | November 04, 2011 | 22:12

A  A

How vile is Mike Papantonio?  For the second time in three days the trial lawyer-cum-radio host has actually made Ed Schultz look relatively reasonable.

Interviewed by Schultz on his MSNBC show this evening, Papantonio claimed that the Koch brothers had "purchased" Herman Cain in order to be able to "kill more people" with toxins.  Video after the jump.

Papantonio So Unhinged By Allegations Against Cain, Even Ed Schultz Defends Him

By Jack Coleman | November 02, 2011 | 06:26

A  A

Ed Schultz used to be conservative, then jumped ship more than a decade ago and became a left winger. Yet based on his conversation Monday with attorney and radio host Mike Papantonio, Schultz's conversion appears far from complete.

The two were talking on Schultz's radio show about allegations of sexual harassment leveled against GOP candidate Herman Cain in the 1990s while he was head of the National Restaurant Association. (audio clips after page break)

Liberal Radio Host: Hannibal Lecter More Respectable Than Cheney

By Tim Graham | September 01, 2011 | 06:31

A  A

Trial lawyer and liberal radio host Mike Papantonio really knows how to draw attention to himself. The Radio Equalizer blog reports he was subbing on Ed Schultz's radio show on Monday and not only claimed like Rep. Andre Carson that conservatives favored "lynching black people for real," but suggested Hannibal Lecter, the fictional cannibal/serial killer from "The Silence of the Lambs," was more respectable than Dick Cheney:

You know, it was easier to at least respect a character, a fictional character, like Hannibal Lecter in "Silence of the Lambs" because Hannibal Lecter at least readily admitted that he was a dangerous mutation and he was somebody capable of lying and manipulating and even killing to get what he wanted.

On Ed Schultz Radio Show, Talk of Perry/Bachmann Backers Being Just Like Murderous Islamic and Hindu Extremists

By Tim Graham | August 19, 2011 | 15:34

A  A

The ongoing panic and paranoia about the Fundamentalist Menace continues with Frank Schaeffer and liberal media outlets. On Thursday, he appeared on the Ed Schultz radio show with guest host and trial lawyer Mike Papantonio, who tried to freshen up the fright-wig dialogue by bringing up the assassination of Abe Lincoln: "The South got pulled into the Civil War over religious politics. They murdered Abraham Lincoln, the people that murdered Abraham Lincoln under that conspiracy. They were zealot nuts."

When they talked about Byron York's question to Michele Bachmann in the Iowa debate if she was "submissive" to her husband, Schaeffer compared conservative Christian Republicans such as Perry and Bachmann to "fundamentalist" Muslims and Hindus who murder in the name of their religion:

Ed Schultz Guest: Obama Carries Our 'Spear'

By Tim Graham | April 15, 2011 | 13:43

A  A

Brian Maloney at Radio Equalizer was stunned to hear trial lawyer and radio host Mike Papantonio (formerly of Air America) say on the Ed Schultz radio show that Barack Obama is "carrying our spear" for the progressives.

Maloney wrote: "JUST IMAGINE the reaction to a conservative host using ‘Obama’ and ‘spear’ in the same sentence! It would dominate the news cycle for days. But don't expect Sharpton & Friends to protest this one." Maloney’s blog has this audio from April 13:

Radio Host Mike Papantonio Condemns Reagan for Deaths 'Almost' Caused by Firing of Air Traffic Controllers

By Jack Coleman | March 11, 2011 | 17:34

A  A

Liberals rarely hesitate to express their disdain for Ronald Reagan, except when it's convenient to compare him to Barack Obama.

Now comes a novel criticism of Reagan from radio host and environmental lawyer Mike Papantonio -- the Great Communicator as Almost A Mass Killer.

Here's Papantonio explaining this while guest hosting on Ed Schultz's radio show yesterday, to a caller skeptical of demands for nationwide strikes in support of  public-sector unions (audio) --

Elderly 'Teabaggers' Not Dying 'Fast Enough' Laments Libtalker Mike Papantonio

By Jack Coleman | February 23, 2011 | 22:41

A  A

Looks like yet another left-winger missed the meme on the New Civility.

Attorney and "Ring of Fire" radio show co-host Mike Papantonio, guest-hosting on Ed Schultz's radio program yesterday, revealed two things -- he hates old people and wants tea party retirees to hurry up and die.

Don't take my word for it, listen to Papantonio's remarks after a caller said he saw "one of these baggers" push a woman during dueling protests over the weekend in Madison, Wisc. (audio here)-

Liberal Radio Host/Lawyer Perpetuates Slander That Dallas Schoolchildren Cheered News of JFK's Death

By Jack Coleman | January 16, 2011 | 11:51

A  A

How do we know that grade-school students in Dallas spontaneously cheered the news that President John F. Kennedy was murdered in their city?

Because it's been repeated ad infinitum for almost half a century. Therefore it must be true, right?

It's a belief that's taken on the aura of holy writ to liberals, thanks to propapandists like radio host and lawyer Mike Papantonio in preserving its mythology for each new generation of true believers.

You'd think someone who practices law would know better. Then again, you might not.

Ed Schultz Guest Mike Papantonio Claims 'Industrialists' Staging Coup to Topple Obama

By Jack Coleman | November 26, 2010 | 21:49

A  A

How about that, there's someone on the airwaves more unhinged than liberal radio talker and MSNBC heat miser Ed Schultz. And go figure, that someone happens to be a frequent Schultz guest.

But between his appearance on Schultz's radio show Nov. 22 and Schultz's MSNBC program several hours later, the caffeine apparently wore off for Mike Papantonio, a lawyer and co-host of the radio show "Ring of Fire," seeing how Papantonio dialed down his remarks from what he initially told Schultz.

Here's what Papantonio said during the first hour of Schultz's radio show Monday between noon and 1 p.m. while complaining about President Obama's upcoming appearance before the US Chamber of Commerce (audio and video below page break) --

Schultz Guest: Beck & Koch Brothers Plotting To Provoke Race Riots

By Mark Finkelstein | August 24, 2010 | 20:49

A  A
I was going to say the left has now officially hit rock bottom.  But it's still a long way to Election Day for the desperate Dems . . .

On this evening's Ed Show, trial-lawyer guest Mike Papantonio accused Glenn Beck and the Koch brothers of consciously plotting, via Beck's DC rally, to provoke race riots.

In Papantonio's fevered imagination, the Beck-Koch axis is attempting to recreate the race riots of 1968 . .

Lead Prosecutor Chris Matthews Indicts Dick Cheney for Oil Spill

By Geoffrey Dickens | May 12, 2010 | 16:24

A  A

Chris Matthews simply can't get Dick Cheney out of his mind. On Tuesday's Hardball, the MSNBC host once again attempted to pin the blame of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on the former vice president, a theory he first broached last week, as he sinisterly questioned "What role did Dick Cheney play in all of this?" Matthews, going after one of his favorite punching bags, brought on Democratic Congressman John Garamendi and an attorney suing BP, Mike Papantonio, to prosecute his case as he accused Cheney and Halliburton of weakening regulations, which in turn led to the oil spill. Matthews even went as far to liken government in the Bush/Cheney years as reminiscent of "a third world banana republic." [audio available here]

MATTHEWS: And I look at this situation, the President of the United States is allowed to have a vice president who in many ways looks more powerful than he does. And Dick Cheney, of his own volition, says, "I'm bringing all the oil industry tycoons into the office with me. Absolute secrecy. We're gonna set energy policy for a democratic country." We're supposed to be a democracy. Yet the policies made in the secrecy of the White House, no press allowed, no records kept. Absolute secrecy. And then we find out that these guys at Halliburton, one of these companies, in fact the company that paid him $34 million into the vice presidency, has gotten their pick of the regulators to regulate Halliburton. How do we stop this?! It seems like a third-world banana republic would do it this way.

The following teaser and exchanges were aired on the May 11 Hardball:

FNC's Varney Heatedly Debates Porkulus With Air America Host

By Noel Sheppard | July 02, 2009 | 10:28

A  A

Fox News's Stuart Varney had a heated debate Wednesday with Air America's Mike Papantonio about the state of the economy and the effectiveness of the $787 billion stimulus package.

Subbing for Neil Cavuto on Wednesday's "Your World," Varney tried repeatedly to get his liberal guest to admit that porkulus hasn't worked and that the economy is getting worse.

Papantonio wasn't having any of that hypocritically and amnesiacly claiming, "We have to get behind this President and be more positive" adding "You cannot be ankle-biting every day this man says something, you can't be attacking"  (video embedded below the fold, h/t NBer Dan Scott):
