Michael YonMilblogger Michael Yon Considers Suing Michael Moore
Since last May, Yon has been trying without success to get Moore to remove from his website an award-winning picture the milblogger took back in 2005 (photo available here). Yon explained the situation to his readers on Monday (photo courtesy AP via NYP): A Stirring Iraq Photo You Won't See on the Cover of Newsweek
Yet the picture of Muslim and Christian Iraqis working together to affix a cross atop St. John's Church in Baghdad is creating buzz throughout the blogosphere on sites such as Captain's Quarters, Michelle Malkin, and the Anchoress as a sign of everyday progress -- not just militarily but in the battle for the "hearts and minds" of the Iraqi people. Here are some of the Anchoress's thoughts on the matter:
More Evidence Good News From Iraq Not Getting ReportedOn October 7, NewsBusters shared the astonishing statements of journalists from the Washington Post and CNN as to why good news from Iraq should not get reported. Two weeks later, the Iraq Interior Ministry announced: "Violence in Iraq has dropped by 70 percent since the end of June, when U.S. forces completed their build-up of 30,000 extra troops to stabilize the war-torn country." Such was reported by Reuters at 1:01 PM EST Monday. Not surprisingly, the major American media outlets ignored the good news. Deliciously coincident, military blogger Michael Yon posted a piece at his website Monday appropriately titled "Resistance is futile: You will be (mis)informed" that should be must-reading for all Americans, especially elected officials (emphasis added throughout): NYDaily News Distorts Fred Thompson's al Qaeda/Smoking Comment
The NYDNews reported Thompson's comments on Saturday. |
