Jamie Foxx: 'Black People Are The Most Talented People In The World'

By Noel Sheppard | February 08, 2013 | 20:14

It seems Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx just can't avoid saying something really stupid at awards ceremonies.

After calling Barack Obama "Our Lord and Savior" at last November's Soul Train Awards, Foxx, during his acceptance speech as Entertainer of the Year at last Friday's NAACP Image Awards, said, "Black people are the most talented people in the world" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Rush Limbaugh: Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson Try To Convince Blacks They're Still Slaves

By Noel Sheppard | January 07, 2013 | 19:28

As NewsBusters readers know, actors Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson have made some rather inflammatory comments of late.

On Monday, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said of the two stars currently featured in Quentin Tarantino's controversial film "Django Unchained," "[They] try to make the case that there's still slavery in this country" (video follows with transcript):

MSNBC: Matt Drudge Is Racist for Criticizing N-Word in Movie

By Randy Hall | December 14, 2012 | 12:07

A  A

Riddle me this: How can a cable news program be so sensitive regarding the use of the “n word” that they blur it out of a website headline shown onscreen, then turn around and defend a film in which that same word is used more than 100 times?

That's what happened during Wednesday's edition of Martin Bashir's MSNBC talk show. The host and both of his guests attacked editor Matt Drudge as a “race baiter” and “race peddler” for using the word seven times as a headline for a story on the popular Drudge Report website about “Django Unchained,” liberal filmmaker Quentin Tarantino's latest movie.

Jamie Foxx Defends SNL 'Kill All the White People' Joke on NBC's 'Today': 'I'm a Comedian'

By Kyle Drennen | December 12, 2012 | 14:05

In an interview with actor Jamie Foxx on Wednesday's NBC Today about his upcoming movie Django Unchained, co-host Savannah Guthrie brought up offensive comments Foxx made while hosting Saturday Night Live: "You said your character gets to, quote, 'kill all the white people,' adding, 'how great is that?' I know you know about the criticism, do you think it was fair?" [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Rather than show any regret for the remark, Foxx simply replied: "I'm a comedian. So, I mean, I'm not a – I don't even know what to say." Instead of following up on that non-answer, Guthrie made the awkward transition: "Back to the movie..."

Bozell Column: The 'Black Howard Stern'?

By Brent Bozell | April 17, 2009 | 23:11

A  A

Ever since he left real radio in favor of the satellite kind, Howard Stern and his faded Dirty Old Man strip-club radio act have been invisible. But now, some people are apparently trying to match him on the struggling Sirius/XM radio system. Actor Jamie Foxx has a weekend show called "The Foxxhole." It, too, was virtually invisible – until he unleashed a vicious attack on 16-year-old Disney teen queen Miley Cyrus.

Don Imus was publicly and noisily removed from MSNBC two years ago for his dismissal of the Rutgers women’s basketball team as "nappy-headed hos." If you think that was bad, compare it to what Foxx said about Cyrus: He demanded this young girl become a "ho," develop a drug habit and a sexually transmitted disease.

Networks Ignore Jamie Foxx’s Verbal Attack on Miley Cyrus

By Erin R. Brown | April 16, 2009 | 10:03

A  A

The 41-year-old Oscar winner Jamie Foxx dished out some disgusting advice for Disney teen sensation Miley Cyrus, telling her to, among other things, “make a sex tape and grow up.” This tasteless “advice” coming from the father of a teen to a sixteen year-old girl didn’t seem to outrage anyone at ABC, CBS, or NBC.

“The Foxxhole,” Jamie Foxx’s weekend radio show was the forum for a discussion of what makes an artist respectable. Foxx and his co hosts suggested that famous pop idol Miley Cyrus could gain respect as an artist if she would “make a sex tape and grow up... get like Britney Spears and do some heroin... do like Lindsay Lohan and get some crack in your pipe... catch Chlamydia on a bicycle seat.”

As if the “advice” wasn’t enough, Foxx also made fun of Cyrus’ appearance. To assure himself that he had identified the correct Cyrus, Foxx asked his co host, “The one with all the gums? She gotta get a gum transplant… s**t. Uh, uh, let me get an order of mouth, light on teeth, uh heavy on the gum.”
