Alan GraysonBill Press: Beck a 'Ticking Time Bomb'; Warns Ailes Will 'Be Sorry' They Gave Him a ShowGlenn Beck - he has one of the highest-rated shows on the top cable news network. He's had a number of bestselling books and he's called attention to some unsavory characters working in the Obama administration. Yet - he's somehow considered to be a risky business decision for the powers in charge at Fox News. On CNN's Nov. 29 "Reliable Sources," host Howard Kurtz pointed out Glenn Beck accusing Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., of "hooking" for the so-called $300 million "Louisiana Purchase" provision of the health care bill. "He's talking there about Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu, who did get a provision in order to get her support for breaking the filibuster on the health care bill - $300 million for Louisiana," Kurtz said. "He said she was ‘hooking,' basically called her a prostitute." Alan 'GOP Wants You To Die Quickly' Grayson 'Apologizes' a Month Later for Vicious Sept. Sexist Insult
Grayson's supposed apology for these over-the-top remarks on the House Floor -- remarks that would surely have earned him censure and relentless media coverage had he been a Republican criticizing a Democrat -- consisted of saying, as paraphrased by Clay Waters of NewsBusters, that his "remorse was not for Republicans, rather for the dead .... comparing the existing health care system to the Holocaust." This is from a guy whose party has several go-to health care "experts" and others (e.g., Zeke the Bleak Emanuel, John "Sterilize The Water Supply" Holdren) who advocate what Sarah Palin correctly characterized as "death panels." Little did we know that in September, Grayson made himself a House ogre with his floor remarks, he hurled a grievously sexist and offensive insult at a senior Federal Reserve adviser. Wait until you see what he called Linda Robertson on the apparently syndicated but apparently lightly heeded Alex Jones show (relevant audio begins at about 0:35 of the 1:43 YouTube video; Warning - Objectionable language follows): Overbearing in Role as Liberal Savior, Rep. Alan Grayson Alludes to Himself as The AlmightyPotential title of Tom Wolfe novel with protagonist based on Congressman Alan Grayson, Democrat of Florida -- A Man in Fulsome. Maddow was talking about Florida Republicans gearing up to unseat Grayson --
On Radio, Ed Schultz Urges Alan Grayson as Obama's Speechwriter, Jokes About Shooting GOP AideUltraliberal talk show host Ed Schultz took to his radio show Thursday to raise the roof for Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Florida) and his charge that Republican health plan is "die quickly" and their neglect has led to a "holocaust." Schultz thinks he should write speeches for Obama. That wouldn’t exactly match Obama’s whole unite-not-divide campaign, but Schultz doesn’t care:
Chris Matthews Encourages Dem Rep. Grayson to Be A Proud Liberal Of all the ignorant, boot-licking interviews in Chris Matthews' long career, this one may be the most hypocritical.
Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.), he of "die quickly" YouTube fame, appeared on the October 2 edition of MSNBC's "Hardball," and Matthews wasted no time in teeing up the GOP for Grayson: CHRIS MATTHEWS: I'm looking for some insight here. I'm a reporter. I'm trying to find out what you know and what you don't know. When you walk around the floor. When you walk past the Republican cloak room. When you get on the elevator. When you get on the subway over there in the Capitol building. Do these Republicans come up to you and say your number is up, buddy? What do they say to you? Chris Matthews: Joe Wilson 'Wrong' But Would Be 'Absurd' for Alan Grayson to ApologizeIt would be "absurd" for Florida Rep. Alan Grayson (D) to apologize for insisting recently that Republicans stand behind a health care "holocaust," MSNBC's Chris Matthews argued on today's "Hardball" program. While Matthews felt Grayson's Nazi comparison was over-the-top, Matthews cheered Grayson's display of "cojones," even chuckling at video of Grayson calling Republicans "knuckle-dragging Neanderthals." Matthews made clear to guests James Warren of the Huffington Post and Politico's Roger Simon that he thought Grayson was just the shot in the arm liberals needed for their health care push (audio available here, video embedded at right): Dem Congressman: 'Republicans Want You To Die Quickly'; What Will the 'Civility' Crowd Say?
The Politico's Jonathan Allen reported last night that Democratic Congressment Alan Grayson of Florida let loose on the House floor. (UPDATE: Politico now has a YouTube video of Grayson's performance at the link.) Hopefully, Allen himself was only being sloppy with his own wording:
"Warned"? As if "Republicans want you to die quickly" is a fact? What follows, via Politico's Glenn Thrush, is what you can't say about a President: Orlando Sentinel Live Blogs Stacked Deck 'Town Hall' MeetingYour humble correspondent has had problems with the Orlando Sentinel in the past, especially when it published a silly global warming alarmism story which presented various map scenarios of Florida being flooded over. However, I must extend congratulations to that periodical for its excellent live blog coverage of a phony stacked deck "town hall" meeting conducted by Congressman Alan Grayson which could serve as a model for other newspapers on how to cover such events. First a description of the event as covered in the regular way via Orlando Sentinel article:
CBS Blasts Contractors with Expert … I Mean, Democratic CandidateMaybe it just slipped his mind, but maybe not. CBS Chief Investigative Correspondent Armen Keteyian neglected to mention that the “attorney” he interviewed for the October 17 “Evening News” was also running as a Democrat for Congress. Keteyian piled on military food contractors by relying on a Democratic Congressional Candidate Alan Grayson as an expert when he reported on a federal fraud probe in the military's food-supply operations. |
