Liberal Journalists Alter, Shear Rip White House Over AP Scandal

By Andrew Lautz | May 22, 2013 | 17:18

A  A

Conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt featured two liberal journalists on his nightly program this week, and both joined the chorus of media outrage at the Obama administration over the Justice Department’s recent AP probe. Bloomberg View’s Jonathan Alter called Eric Holder’s explanation of the probe “pathetic” and suggested that President Obama should “apologize to journalists” over the scandal, while Michael Shear of the New York Times was frosted by the “absolutely chilling” way that the Obama/Holder DOJ has treated journalists like criminals.

Just last week, Alter fretted over the administration’s scandals with Chris Matthews on Hardball, claiming that White House staffers had “an unhealthy love” for Obama. On Wednesday, Alter blasted the administration for their “especially aggressive” attitude towards reporters, calling the Justice Department’s recent actions “disturbing."

ABC’s Cokie Roberts Acknowledges Obama’s Contempt for the Press, Blasts 'Presidential Propaganda'

By Andrew Lautz | May 22, 2013 | 13:50

A  A

Even ABC News’s Cokie Roberts recognizes that the Obama administration has far overstepped its constitutional boundaries in obtaining the personal emails of Fox News reporter James Rosen. The political commentator denounced the Obama/Holder Justice Department’s actions on Tuesday’s Morning Joe on MSNBC, claiming the overreach was “appalling.”

Roberts later criticized the administration’s treatment of the press at large, arguing that the White House has its “own broadcasting network” that delivers “unfiltered presidential propaganda to people all the time.” Yes, she said that on MSNBC, failing to see the irony. And yes, this is the same Cokie Roberts that just last week marveled at how Obama’s presidency was “scandal-free.”

AP: ‘Abortions Are Typically Performed In Utero’

By Jill Stanek | March 21, 2013 | 13:52

A  A

As both Matthew Balan and Mark Steyn have noted, the mainstream media has for the most part gone missing in reporting the murder trial of late-term Pennsylvania abortionist Kermit Gosnell.

Gosnell, his wife Pearl, and eight employees stand accused of murdering seven newborn abortion survivors and one mother. Not only has MSM gone missing, when it does report on this horrendous story, it often gets important details wrong or makes inexplicable gaffes.

AP Publishes Hit Piece on Gun Trade Show

By Liz Thatcher | January 16, 2013 | 17:21

A  A

The gun industry can’t do anything right … at least, that’s what the average citizen would think if they paid attention to the media. On Jan. 15, the Associated Press even attacked a gun industry trade show.

That same day, the annual Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show opened in Las Vegas.  Only a limited number of media credentials were allowed in the show – if you consider 2,000 credentials to be “limited.” According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the show expects one in 30 attendees to be press. Yet the AP complained the “show was closed to the public and was covered by a limited number of reporters and photographers.”

Heavy-Handed AP: 'Steel Mill Polluted Town as Romney Firm Profited'

By Jeffrey Meyer | August 13, 2012 | 16:31

A  A

For months, the liberal media have viciously attacked Mitt Romney’s time at Bain Capital in every way imaginable.  From calling him a job killer (or parroting Obama super PAC claims that the Republican is an actual killer)  to a corporate raider, the left has gone to new lengths to smear Governor Romney’s past, something President Obama never endured during his 2008 campaign for president.

Take for example an August 13 piece by the Associated Press writer Jack Gillum, entitled, “Steel Mill Polluted Town As Romney Firm Profited,” which seeks to paint Governor Romney and Bain as heartless corporate raiders who left a small South Carolina town in economic and environmental ruin while they made off with millions.
