Congressman-elect Again Calls on Jennings to Concede... SARASOTA, FL. (NS/BuchananForCongress) - Congressman-elect Vern Buchanan said today's analysis of Tuesday's parallel testing of Sarasota County voter machines shows no problems with the machines, further verifying the election results of November 7. The Congressman-elect renewed his call today for his former opponent Christine Jennings to concede the election... "The analysis of Tuesday's testing is further conformation of the official results of the election," said Buchanan. "It is an honor and a privilege to have been chosen by the voters to represent this District in Congress. I hope that this exercise, combined with additional testing on Friday will erase any lingering concerns voters might have about the reliability of these machines. It is regrettable that out-of-town lawyers and liberal special interest groups have attempted to undermine the election results with unproven claims about the voting machines." "The votes have been counted, recounted and counted again," added Buchanan. "The machines have been tested, retested, certified, and tested again. I welcome the state audit, which when concluded will confirm my election. I call again on Christine Jennings to allow thedistrict to move forward with representation in the new Congress. In the meantime, I will continue assembling a top-notch congressional staff to begin serving the district." State officials today ruled that human error was responsible for a handful of discrepancies associated with Tuesday's testing. The State's parallel testing is substantially similar to what attorney's for Jennings originally proposed. Buchanan also noted that the machines used on November 7 and tested today were also used without any problems in 2002 and 2004. The Congressman-elect will be sworn in to office when the U.S. House meets during the first week in January... And to add, I have had 2 phonecalls today, one from Manatee County and one from the State of Georgia... In Manatee County where they had a 'paper trail', there were numerous ballots cast that had votes in every elction race except for the 13th Congressional District where it was obvious votes were cast for nobody in a form of a protest... In the State of Georgia where the same touchscreen machines were used without a paper trail, there were also races where no vote was cast after every other race was voted for. In the case in Georgia, the race was certified with the 'undervote' and winner elected to office... What part of 'intentionally' not voting or in 'some' cases people who had no clue what they were doing when voting and then not saying anything to anyone, pushing the vote button and leaving without knowing who or what they voted for? That is strictly the VOTERS fault and it is called 'human error'... This does not warrant either a new Election nor any further analysis as it's been proven the Voter machines were working correctly...Now throw in the fact that Christine Jennings filed another lawsuit today trying to get access to the voting machine 'codes' used so her Attorneys can do their own testing of the touchscreen voting machines...Will this happen? Is she just grasping at straws? Has desparation set in for the Democrats? What do YOU think???For now, that's just 'OUR' opinion and the facts as we know them from FL-13...Matt BruceManaging EditorNews Sarasota.comHost Of "The Captain's AMERICA" Radio Show For more, go to: http://www.newssarasota.com
