Comedian Russell Brand: Fox News Is a 'Fanatical Terrorist Propagandist Organization'

Leftish British comedian Russell Brand is trying on some Keith Olbermann clothes on his YouTube channel promoting his "Messiah Complex" tour. Remember when Keith suggested Fox News was “worse than al-Qaeda”? Now Brand says Fox is “worse than ISIS,” the jihadis currently occupying large chunks of Iraq.

On her Fox program, Judge Jeannine Pirro called ISIS a “fanatical religious terrorist organization,” spurring Brand into playing the nanny-nanny-boo-boo scolding in reverse about Fox (video below):

“So’s Fox News! It’s a fanatical terrorist propagandist organization. This isn’t reasonable, is it? Like the way she’s talking? ‘Bomb them! Bomb them!’ She’s worse…She’s just doin’ it with a city backdrop. She’s the savage, she’s totally espousing savage values.”

Pirro did use the words “Bomb them” repeatedly. Brand paid no attention to ISIS engaging in summary executions and posting them on social media. She’s “worse” for calling it out? They’re not engaging in “savage values?” Brand insists Fox just makes it worse. His goal is to “Ameliorate the extremity, not enhance the extremity.” How? He had no proposals.

Brand sounded like an anti-Bush rerun. Any anti-terrorist war only creates more terrorists. “When they do these bombings it creates more insurgents, that’s what creates them. Don’t think of a bomb as going down there and destroying stuff, think of it as like a seed that goes into the ground, and grows insurgents out of it. It creates more terrorism doing it.”

He also rejected Pirro’s attacks on Obama: “He’s knackered! Leave him alone!” Like every fly-bitten leftist, he assumed Pirro doesn’t really believe anything she’s saying. He thinks every conservative statement is bathing in insincerity. He called it “evil, evil, evil, evil.”

“It’s invective, just incendiary language, just volatile combative, angry language,” Brand concluded. “I don’t think that’s helpful. I’m not being just sensational. That is more dangerous than ISIS. That attitude. Cause that’s far-reaching. That’s affecting millions and millions of people.”

Who is going to take seriously this geopolitical “All You Need Is Love” lecture from the author of weighty intellectual tomes like “My Booky Wook: A Memoir of Sex, Drugs, and Stand-Up”? Oh, and “Booky Wook 2,” in case that wasn’t deep enough.

Brand's "Messiah Complex" tour was pitched satirically as featuring Jesus Christ, Che Guevara, Gandhi, Malcolm X, and Hitler.
