Bill Clinton: ‘Republicans Have a Much More Reliable Media Base’

Former President Bill Clinton made a comment this weekend guaranteed to make people on both sides of the aisle laugh their heads off.

In a pre-recorded interview to be aired on CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS Sunday, Clinton said – with a straight face, no less! – “I think you’ve got to give it the Republicans. They have a much more reliable media base” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

FAREED ZAKARIA, HOST: You’re not worried about the Democratic Party?

BILL CLINTON, FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: No. We’ve got a lot of good people in the Party. We’ve got a lot of good ideas.

But I think you’ve got to give it the Republicans. They have a much more reliable media base. And they just say no. They know what they want. They want power to cut taxes, eliminate regulations, take government down except for what they like. And they can fill the atmosphere with a lot of static.

When you’re trying to get something done, it requires a much more deft strategy because you have to explain what you’re trying to do, and it’s a little tougher for us.

Republicans have a more reliable media base?

Why? Because Democrats control everything but Fox News and talk radio?

It really makes you wonder what color the sky is in President Clinton's world.

I guess if Hillary runs in 2016, America should prepare itself for another round of talk about the vast right-wing conspiracy this time including the mainstream media.

Poor Bill and Hillary. They just can't get any good press!
