Risking Whiplash, Ed Schultz Slams GOP for Opposing Obama Plan to Hit Syria - Which He Opposes Too

September 11th, 2013 5:20 PM

There you have it, solid evidence that radio libtalker and MSNBC foghorn Ed Schultz is a degenerate racist -- he disagrees with President Obama's plan to hit the Assad regime with military strikes if necessary.

After all, a disagreement like that is all it has taken for Schultz and like-minded lefties to vilify conservatives for years as dog-whistle-blowing racists. Suddenly I understand why they so frequently resort to this line of criticism. It frees them from that tiresome task ... of thinking. (Audio after the jump)

On his radio show yesterday, Schultz pulled off a jaw-dropping pirouette when he condemned Republicans for acting in bad faith to oppose Obama on possible military strikes in Syria, followed quickly by Schultz reminding his listeners that, gee, come to think of it, I'm opposed to that too! (audio) --

Oh there's a calculus here by the Republicans -- how do we make the president look bad? And the only solution that they want, and they're willing to go full bore on it, is regime change and so what if it supports the military industrial complex, we'll do that, and we'll do whatever we have to do to get freedom on the march and regime change in Syria and oh by the way, Obama will never do that so this is an easy target. This has, and this is just step one in a number of different steps that are going to be played out -- keeping this in front of the public, being, doing the due diligence, constantly explaining the case, and keeping the pressure on. This is, this is, this is work for months ahead for the administration. And this could -- could -- seriously backfire on the Republicans if they vote no on this. Are they going to be on the wrong side of history? Now there's a chance that President Obama won't hit Syria, but if the nation speaks with one voice in two resolutions from one, of each chamber, I can see where that might look a little bit better. But I still, if it were me, uh, I would, uh, I would vote no at this point.

And I'm not even Republican -- go figure!

If truth is the first casualty of war, coherence from Schultz is a close second.
