HuffPo Hypes Hopes Royal Baby Will be Gay

The royal prince is barely a day old, but already lefties are crossing their fingers in hopes that he’s gay.

Huffington Post hyped what may be the dumbest polling ever this morning – a survey claiming that a majority of Brits would react favorably if the son born yesterday to Prince William and Kate Middleton would come out as a homosexual in the future. The survey was conducted by the “lesbian, gay, and bisexual advocacy group Stonewall” (because, of course, they’d have an unbiased and objective viewpoint).

Yet even the results of the survey are questionable if used to tout supposed public sentiment towards gays. The survey reported that 83 percent of those interviewed would be “very comfortable, comfortable, or neutral” if the little prince was gay; but neutral is a far cry from “overwhelmingly supportive” or even “happy.”

Meanwhile, no one seemed to notice that, if he’s gay, then the new prince probably won’t produce an heir to the throne – at least not by any traditional means.

The survey came in the wake of Britain’s legalization of gay marriage, and Stonewall's Chief Executive Ben Summerskill – still rejoicing, apparently – immediately tied gay marriage to the birth of the royal heir. “Millions of people will be celebrating today's news, just as millions last week celebrated the news of equal marriage in England and Wales,” he said, “Happily, since last week every child born in Britain is born into a society where gay people are now equal in law.”

The jury’s still out on whether gay rights groups will start hoping for the little prince to be a little “princess boy.”  But they obviously hope that, at least by the time he’s a king, the poor kid will be a “queen.”
