Herman Cain: 'Maybe Chris Matthews Doesn't Have Enough Black Friends Telling Him the Truth' About Racism

As NewsBusters reported, MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Monday actually said, “Racism is the belief that one race - whites - should rule all others.”

Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain responded to this nonsense on Fox News's Hannity Tuesday stating, "It's laughable what Chris Matthews is saying...Maybe he doesn't have enough black friends who's telling him the truth" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Well, actually Rushbo, racism is the believe that one race, Whites, should rule all others. Get your definition straight.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

SEAN HANNITY, HOST: Well, actually Chriso, you need a new definition for what racism is it. And if you need a dictionary, I'll be glad to send you one for free in the spirit of spreading the wealth around.

Joining me now with reaction, the CEO of HermanCain.com, FOX News contributor, radio talk show host and yes, my friend Herman Cain. How are you, sir?

HERMAN CAIN, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: I'm fine, Sean. It's almost laughable, it's laughable what Chris Matthews is saying.

HANNITY: The dictionary, is he saying here the definition, racism is a belief that one race, Whites, should rule all others. That's not what the dictionary says. The inherent belief in superiority of one race over another. It's very clear there could be people of different races that are racist. Is that hard for an NBC News anchor to figure out, maybe open up a dictionary once in a while?

CAIN: It's hard for Chris Matthews. Maybe he doesn't have enough black friends who's telling him the truth. You see, racism can be from white to black and black to white. Now it's not as bad as it used to be, and for him to say that it's just white to black, that is ridiculous.

HANNITY: I have a question for Chris.

CAIN: Yes.

HANNITY: When Louis Farrakhan's magazine says the God who teaches me tells me the white man is a skunk on the planet earth, is that racism? It sounds like it to me.

CAIN: Of course. It is racism. It can go either way, Sean, and Chris should know better.
