MSNBC Political Analyst: Alabama Women Voting for Santorum 'Really Hurts Me'

An MSNBC political analyst on Tuesday actually said that Alabama women voting for Rick Santorum in the Republican presidential primary that just concluded in that state "really hurts" her.

Talking to Lawrence O'Donnell on The Last Word, Karen Finney arrogantly said, "It’s a little painful because I’m wondering if those women really heard the full message" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

After she was asked by O'Donnell to give her view of the primary results, Finney said, “This woman vote really hurts me."

O’Donnell then shared exit poll data from Alabama showing 49 percent of working women voted for Santorum.

“That’s why I say,” continued Finney, “it’s a little painful because I’m wondering if those women really heard the full message that, yes, there’s the economy, but if you’ve got to worry about your basic healthcare, how are you then going to be able to do what you need to do in terms of having a job, paying your rent, taking care of your kids?"

Maybe it's because most working people in America think health insurance is a part of being employed and that having a good job will take care of this.

Maybe it's also because they've watched the President and his media minions for the past two and a half months lie to them about what birth control actually costs in a shameful attempt to divide this nation along gender lines.

The reality is that not everyone in America thinks health insurance is the most important thing in life. Maybe this is why millions of Americans choose not to buy it, and are disgusted by political leaders telling them they have to.

Such folks also might be displeased by government forcing religious institutions to cover women's healthcare medications even if it goes against their beliefs.

As we've seen in two polls this week showing President Obama's approval rating at or near all-time lows, it should be clear to media members like Finney that women haven't bought this propaganda game the Democrats and their loyal press have been playing.

With gas heading to $5 a gallon, unemployment remaining stubbornly high, spiraling debt, most folks underwater in their mortgages, and the threat of another war in the Middle East, the primary concern of most Americans isn't birth control.

Apparently, no matter how much the Left says it is, women aren't falling for it.

Sorry, Karen.
