Yo, Cenk: If Ryan's 26% Unfavorable Rating 'Disastrous,' What's Pelosi's 63%?

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? -- Matthew 7:4

On a somewhat slow Thursday night, let's have a good chuckle.  On his MSNBC show this evening, Cenk Uygur jumped on a poll showing Paul Ryan with a 26% unfavorability rating to declare that America "can't stand" the Wisconsin congressman and that the 26% unfavorable rating is "disastrous."

Question for Cenk: if a 26% unfavorable rating is that bad, how would you describe Nancy Pelosi's unfavorable rating of . . . 63%?  Just wondrin' . . .

Uygur teased the topic, then put it to his "Power Panel", which included Bob Franken--former CNN "correspondent" turned, as we've noted, full-throated liberal pundit .

CENK UYGUR:  Washington loves Paul Ryan, but he's not winnning popularity contests anywhere else.  So why does DC love this guy while the rest of the country can't stand him? . . . Wjy is Paul Ryan so liked in Washington but so disliked in the rest of the country?  A new Bloomberg poll found that Congressman Ryan is the nation's third most-disliked Republican, with 26% of people viewing him unfavorably.  He finishes behind only Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich.  So, Bob, let me start with you.  What's going on here? The polls are disastrous for Ryan.  But in DC, everybody's 'he's so serious and so great.'  It's not just Republicans: Obama, Clinton, etc., they've all given him compliments and comments.  Why the disconnect?

BOB FRANKEN:  Well, first of all, I think that there's a realization out there, meaning outside the Beltway, that what he's trying to do is privatize something that's probably best handled as a government program.
