"Think of a caged rat, a cornered rat. What does a cornered rat do? It instinctively goes for the jugular. That's where the media are going right now," following the November 2 elections, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell told Ernest Istook in a radio interview.
The Media Research Center founder appeared by telephone on the November 11 edition of Bill Bennett's Morning in America, where Istook was substitute hosting.

"They're losing, they're bleeding audiences, they're falling apart. Their newspapers are going bankrupt. Their magazines have gone bankrupt," Bozell noted of the mainstream media.
Yet even as middle America is deserting the mainstream media, the media are doubling down their attacks on conservatives and the Tea Party movement, Bozell argued.

Bozell also addressed MSNBC's brief suspension of Keith Olbermann for his donations to political candidates:
ERNEST ISTOOK: Keith Olbermann makes a donation and MSNBC gets upset with that. But all his comments--
BRENT BOZELL: They suspended him for a whole weekend.
ISTOOK: Yeah, with pay. All of his comments though amount to constant donations to left-leaning candidates.
BOZELL: Of course they are. But there's not a problem with making a donation if you're a commentator. If you're Sean Hannity or if he [Olbermann] were just a commentator. But he also, and Chris Matthews, they become election night anchors for that disgrace of a network. You can't be doing that.
