Think Progress Angry Obama's Conservative Dinner Party Failed

January 25th, 2009 11:27 PM

The George Soros-funded Clinton front-group Think Progress expressed disappointment Sunday that conservative journalists who attended a dinner party with Barack Obama a few weeks ago haven't abandoned their political principles and become bleeding-heart liberals.

I kid you not.

Readers are forewarned to remove all food and fluids from their computer's proximity, for this is some truly hilarious stuff:

Several days before taking office, President Obama traveled to George Will's home to dine with a handful of conservative media elites. The beltway conventional wisdom suggested that Obama's aim was to "neutralize potential adversaries" by way of a "charm offensive." After the dinner, Bill Kristol explained on Fox and Friends that while "no one's mind was changed," he would "end up supporting [Obama] on some things." Charles Krauthammer joked about Obama's apparent goals, "I am brainwashed entirely. I'm in the tank."

Just one week later, Obama's right-wing acquaintances have already shown the futility of engaging in a good-faith dialogue with them.

TP then cited some statements made Sunday by Kristol and Krauthammer, as well as part of an article published Friday by New York Times columnist David Brooks.

What was their mutual transgression?

They're not pleased with Obama's stimulus package, and despite having broken bread with him at George Will's house, had the nerve to actually say so.

Imagine the chutzpah!

The president-elect takes the time to meet with you, and you have the unmitigated audacity to not suddenly agree with everything he says and does?

Oh the humanity.

For additional hysterics, readers are advised to view the comments posted about this piece by TP members as they further demonstrate the absurdity in the sociopathically intolerant demanding compliance from their most-reviled enemies.

Now THAT's entertainment.
