Mark Levin Tells Michelle Obama ‘Stop Putting Down My Country!’

For those that missed it, Mrs. Barack Obama recently told a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, crowd, "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country."

On Monday, my colleague John Stephenson wisely asked, "Will Media Ignore Michelle Obama Remark? [0]"

After looking at what MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski said on Tuesday's "Morning Joe [0]," the answer to Stephenson's question is: media that don't ignore Obama's disgraceful comments will likely defend them.

Fortunately, conservative talk radio host Mark Levin isn't part of the mainstream media establishment, and on his program Monday, said what most press representatives would if they had any spine, and didn't behave like shills for the Democrat Party (audio available here [0]):

What do you mean for the first time in your adult life you're proud of your country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because you think people are hungry for change? Have you suffered? Have you suffered, ma'am? I'm tired of people putting down this country. I'm tired of people pretending that this is still pre-slavery, pre-segregation, pre-internment. That we're in a depression. I'm sick and tired of people ignoring the enormous progress we've made in this country and sacrifices one generation after another have made to make this a more perfect country. I'm sick and tired of it. [...]

I don't give you a pass. You finally have hope for this country? Well, that's somebody else's kids over there, fighting and dying so you can go to an Ivy League school, so you can send your kids to a private school, so you and your husband can have your day in the limelight, and to make millions of dollars. Stop putting down my country! Stop putting down my country when there's so many great people doing so many great things so you can have it all, so we all can have it all. No more pandering. Enough is enough. This may work with the radical left, but it doesn't work with me, and it doesn't work with most Americans.

Count me in that group it doesn't work with, Mark. And while we're at it, here are some more questions sycophantic media members won't ask Mrs. Obama:

Did any of these events make you proud of this country, Mrs. Obama?

Maybe more important, will any media members ask Mrs. Obama any of these questions?

Yes, that's rhetorical.

*****Update: NBer Bayshoreman has added some questions [0] he'd like media to ask Mrs. Obama (with minor edits and corrections):

Anybody else have some questions media won't ask Mrs. Obama?

*****Update II: NBer Jerry's comments [0] must also be recognized:

Whenever I see the space shuttle roar off into the sky or glide down from the heavens for a pinpoint landing, I am proud.

Whenever I see the selfless, courageous, heroic acts of our soldiers, I am proud.

Whenever I see the United States rush to the aid of countries in need, as the first and sometimes sole responder, I am proud.

Whenever I see foreigners risk their very lives to reach the shores of our nation for a chance to become Americans, I am proud.

Whenever I see the people of this nation unite against the forces of tyrany and terrorism, I am proud.

Whenever I see the rows upon rows of white crosses marking the final resting places of those who gave their lives so that we may be free, I am proud.

Whenever I see the rejoicing of those freed from the bondage of oppression, whether it be the East Germans after the fall of the Berlin wall, or the people of Kuwait, or the purple fingered citizens of Iraq, I am proud.

Whenever I see the grateful Africans embracing our President for doing more to combat Aids and malaria than any president even thought about doing, I am proud.

Whenever I see truckload after truckload of Christmas shoe boxes being shipped out to poor, forgotten children across the globe, I am proud.

Whenever I see the selfless attitudes that our fire fighters and police officers exhibit during times of crisis, I am proud.

Whenever I see people worshiping God freely without fear of reprisal, I am proud.

There are times however when I am truly ashamed. My shame is not directed toward our great nation, but to those like Michelle Obama, Cindy Sheehan, Sean Penn, etc., who would reap all the benefits our nation has to offer and then proceed to bite the very hand that fed them.

Marvelous stuff, Jerry. Thank you. And you, Gary Hall [0]:

I have to admit Noel, and perhaps I was caught off guard, when I heard Michelle Obama's comment about how proud of our country she suddenly was, I connected it to the news of the millions of lives that President Bush is saving in Africa. First thing yesterday morning, Ann Curry of NBC was interviewing the President and First Lady from Africa (I assumed Michelle has a strong emotional connection to Africa - my bold):

Ann Curry – NBC News. Feb. 18, 2008"Even your critics, Mr. [we prefer Mr. President, Ann] Bush say that you have had the greatest impact on Africa than any President in US history. You have fought for funding and have saved over a million lives, from Malaria and Aids."

NB members are right on the mark today making me feel what Mrs. Obama sadly doesn't. Thank you!
