Well professor you certainly showed yourself yesterday. You clearly do not understand what the Military does of how it defends your freedoms so today you get your lesion.
A Military is necessary to keep the freedom. Without it you are looking at those who will take away your freedom. Meaning a war does not have to be fought or in progress for a member of the military to defend your freedom. I don’t care what you think of the soldier in Iraq as defending your freedom but they are. There place in the military alone is a defense of your freedom.
The ramifications on the Global War on Terror these kids, defending your freedom, are doing will be felt in the future. If we defeat terror on its own soil we keep it out of the US.
Also if Thomas Jefferson had had his way all males citizens would have had to get military training;

Thank God there are people out there who are willing to take that responsibility off your shoulders.
In this new and dangerous world we live in will require us to keep in place a ready military to respond to threats. We need people walking the line to keep out those elements that would take your freedoms away.

I then revealed a whole lot about myself to you and JasonC that I could have kept quiet but tried to make you, in your closed mind, understand. These people hate us, that means you too Professor, because, and this will come as a surprise, we are AMERICANS. Do you really think you could reason with that? They cut peoples heads off for being even near an American. They stone people for being Gay. My God man how much more psychotic can you get. They flog a girl who was raped by four men saying she brought it upon herself. Yet I make a statement in reference to a warrior’s state of mind in the heat of battle and I bring down the wrath of the insurgents upon our soldiers?

I must admit Professor I have seen some pretty low individuals but man have you taken it to a new lower level. Just remember, there are people out there right now, who are in Iraq, Afghanistan, Japan, Germany, England, and yes even here in the US who are by the sheer fact of being a member of the military, defend your right to free speech. Your right to a free press. A right to a freely practice or not practice a religion of your choice. Your right to come here and express your views. Somewhere in this world today someone in that military may die doing it too.
