Hey, wait a minute!! I

Hey, wait a minute!!

I listened on the radio... why isn't that choice in there?????

I agree

Except if I were to put watch/listen into the answer choices, it'd reset the votes :(

Partially

When it started to sound like a beauty pageant, i moved on.

At least they were asked substantive questions, while I was watching.

I must say that the

I must say that the questions were significantly better than what is facing the Democrats.  That is with the exception of the Fred Thompson question at the beginning - that one should have been left out.

Hey Democrats - I challenge you to answer the following truthfully-

Strategic thinkers indicate that

The definition of a center of gravity is "those characteristics, capabilities, or locations from which a national force derives its freedom of action, physical strength, or will to fight" and dictates victory or defeat in conflict.   In short, it is the one item that a freindly force must defend and that it must destory of the enemies in order to achieve victory.

This is usually analyzed at the strategic, Operational, and Tactical levels

"What do you Mrs Clinton, Mr Obama, etc, believe is the friendly and enemy strategic Centers of Gravity in the Global war on Terror?"

THAT would be a question to watch rather than the usual "Are you against badness..." tripe they usually get.

I have no time for anything

Somehow, now that I am married, I have zero time for anything anymore.  (Except making wonderful love!!!  heh heh sorry)  Hell, I'm probably not even going to watch the first NFL game tonight.  Wich is a shame because I really want to see Peyton get his face filled with turf.  The whiney little baby.  plus Fred did a stupid thing and went on Leno instead of playing with the big boys.  Reading Drudge, it looks like he paid for it too.

The American Revolution Continued

Things must be terrible

Six, things must be terrible if you are not going to watch the game. I am so straved for football, I'd watch tonight if it was the Lions playing the Raiders.

I feel the same...my favorite time of year is now...plus NFL football season is starting and Thompson jumped in...

....doesn't get much better than that for me tonight!

Go Colts!...although I really love Breeze(sp)...ought to be a good game either way...

Hope the Chargers beat da' Bears too this week-end....

I know from two seasons of experience here I am going to be outnumbered...lol...

Panther fan

You won't hear much from me. I am a Panther fan. I was Colts fan unitl the Panthers came in. (Hometown loyality) I think the bears were lucky last year. I feel they are overated this year.

Not much is really expected out of the Pnather so maybe this will be a good year.

That is great

I moved to this area, New Bern, 12 years ago from Dallas, NC. I was there when it was annouced about the Panthers. I figured you have to pull for the hometown team. I was the first person on the job to have a Panthers shirt. My wife worked at Belks so she had access to the first shipment. Even thought it no longer fits, I still have it.

Thanks for the link. I just sent Fred a few bucks. It wasn't much but it like they say here when you spit in the ocean, every little bit helps.

Dang it all... I forgot

Dang it all...

I forgot about Ubermann having a commentary before the game tonight...

I just knew something would go wrong...

LOL...

Why oh why they insist on this insane nutcase of an ex sportscaster.

Gee..guess I will have to skip it...(the Ubermann part for those of you in Rio Linda)...lol

Debates

First off I don't like debates. Secondly it is too early for the campaigns to start. I am turned off. It is the same old BS from both sides. No one other than that commie John Edward has said anything that surprises me. Breck Boy saying that he would make it mandatory that you go to a doctor surprised me. I didn't think he was that of a commie until he said it.

Alas, no.

I really have no interest in sound-bites for an hour, or however long, based on fatuous and meaningless questions that get interrupted anyway when it looks like the answer is going to be a rallying cry for the intelligent and the thinking viewers.

Ron Paul has got to go!

Somebody has got to pluck the magic twanger and disappear Ron Paul.  The lunatic has no business calling himself a Republican.

You are correct, he needs to

You are correct, he needs to be honest with everyone and list himself as a Libertarian and run in their primaries instead of the Republican.

Good god was it boring. If

Good god was it boring. If this slate of Republican candidates wants to win the nomination, they better take a course in public speaking. My wife and I were falling asleep listening to them.

It was worth while, importaint.

I thought the debate was substantive, the Repubs don't mind shown their differences, were the Dems just parrot the last poll they saw on the MSM.

I was quite impressed with this group, and Fox.

All so-called, "debates"

All so-called, "debates" are a waste of time and always have been.  So what if you're a slick debater?  That isn't a quality I particularly have to admire in anyone, do I?  There have been too many already, who will remember or care about any of this in a few weeks?  Politics is a swamp of delusions.

Anyone who says they support the troops but not the mission is a liar.

Thompson said something to that effect last night, kathleen

He would like to see something more like a sit- down conversation about ideas.

I agree.  This media-created, sound-bite cattle-call is shallow and pointless.

Well leave it to me to have

Well leave it to me to have really enjoyed last night's debate..

For me it was one of the best ones so far...

Ron Paul and Huckabee were great...doesn't get much better than that IMO.

Huckabee saying in the back and forth 'Even if we lose elections...We should not lose our honor!'...

That was in response to Paul saying look at our party losing seats because of the war....

The back and forth was much longer...

Fox put on a great debate IMO...

Just about everything I posted yesterday was discussed including Thompson right off the bat...Craig was brought up...

25 minutes if illegal immigration which I was happy about....

I was wishing they would of got into being dependent on ourselves here for oil...

Another time I suppose and a long way to go yet...

What I loved was I was watching BOR right before the debate adn here comes a Thompson commercial right before the last segment for BOR....that was brilliant IMO!

Thompson/Hunter '08!

At this point, who cares?

I like talking about issues, but politics?  Blah.  I'm already sick of it and it's not even 2008 yet!

All I care about is making sure Ms. Sir Edmund Hitlery Rodham Foster Clinton never, ever gets elected to anything, ever again...except maybe cell-block leader.

I liked watching Dr. Paul

I liked watching Dr. Paul have his Chamberlin moment.  He was so pleased with his answer that instead of attacking Iran he would sit and talk with them, and how he would accept their promises to be good and not attack anyone, that you could tell he really wanted to hold up a piece of note paper and say "peace in our time!"

Did anyone else notice that Rudi looked like he had just taken a bath in Insta-Tan?  He looked so baked he seemed to be trying to steal the title of First Black President from Clinton.

Also, whatever debate skills Romney had in the past are gone.  His tank is empty.  He started his talking points with a joke he's told to numerous media outlets already, and you could hear the crickets chirping.  He also failed to answer pretty much every question asked of him.

}}---> Gomer Paul

Gomer really was out in the Ozone last night.

~LYDSEXICS UNTIE!~

Dr. Chamberlain

I liked watching Dr. Paul have his Chamberlin moment.

Funny. Paul could've been a serious contender if hadn't gone Michael Moore insane on the issue of Iraq. He's an appeaser of those that seek our destruction.

I respect the view that

I respect the view that many see him as an appeaser, but that he is not.  he has many valid points that we should *also* be looking at.  I say also because alot of RP supporters I've met *do* believe that the ONLY reason we were attacked was because they feel threatened by us.  I do not agree with that, but I do understand how some could feel threatened since we are obviously the superior in any potential Iran vs USA conflict, and yet *we* are the ones on *their* border.  Again, I'm not saying we should straight up appease them, RP's idea is not the same as the dems.  his, again, is a constitutional approach.  No military intervention except in a defensive retaliation.  In my personal opinion, I believe the idea of 'pre-emptive war' albeit a novel idea, lacks all common sense and devoid of the values held dear when our nation was founded.

Again, Im not trying to sway minds here, but you are wrong if you truely believe RP is an appeaser.  If we left, and they attacked, you damn well better believe he'd be going after them with just as much fury as GW did with Afghanistan post 9-11.

Appeaser

No military intervention except in a defensive retaliation.

That was the Chamberlain approach too. I guess there's nothing irrational about waiting until a nuke goes off in the U.S. after getting a a heads-up on the plot, huh? It's hard to tell exactly what Paul would even do against Islamo-fascism when his own website doesn't give an answer and the resident Paul apologist has to post a link to ANOTHER website to describe what the hell his position!

Paul is not the kind of guy we need in the Whitehouse when faced Jihadists bent on our destruction.

Paul is a joke

How can you take this guy seriously. Maybe Paul is the reicarnation of the 1968 prez candidate Pat Paulson ("Paul"son ) and this is all a gag. Kind of looks like him too.

Last Night's Debate

I watched every moment and loved it. I am so proud of these polished courtly Republican candidates.

But here are my impudent snapshot observations: tired of Huckabee's  self-effacing "aw, shucks" shtick.

Tired of Rudy's imperious "What I did for New York" comments.

Tired of waiting for the studied Romney to tighten up his message.

Tired of Ron Paul's belligerent hate America theme.

Embarrased for the distracted Tomcredo's verbal bumbling.

Proud, once again, of  the methodical Duncan Hunter.

Glad to see the unflinching John McCain snap back to life.

And Fred who??
But what's a lady to do? Though it will be one of these Republicans, I still haven't picked a candidate.

I read the Transcript

Does that count ?

To me, it was like a lopsided Sports event going to take place....do you actually want to go and see your team win by 30 pts....?  or can you wait and read about it in the Paper.

If it was a DEM/REPUB debate, now that would be entertaining.

I did watch Thomson on Jay Leno, as it was a better forum...and Fred did mention the preferred Debate format that Newt. G. has discussed as a better way to find out about People.

AND yes, (Sarcasimoto) I did read Ron Paul's answers.......and the guy is a Dip.  He's so far Right, he's left.

Guiliana will take apart Hillary in a Debate....or any of the other Democrats...he's a tough nut.  But all of the candidates were better than Ron P........Ron needs to find another Party to run with.

What good is a Free Press, if it is a False Press ?   David Foote  GoE

me too jaytee. I don't have

me too jaytee. I don't have foxnews, and for some reason their feed didn't work for me, so I read the transcript. And I agree with your conclusion.

Disappointed

I was all set for some gripping and informative Q&A, instead it felt like a gentleman's coffee klatch.

Granted, the questions asked were much more substantial than the softballs tossed to Dems during their debates.

Huckabee impressed me the most last night.

Ron Paul's tin foil hat was more than obvious.

Where's "Nolan Ryan"?

I'd like to see a debate where the questions come from the political equivalent of Nolan Ryan.  Particularly in the Demunist debates.  I get no value out of one-sided or soft-ball questions.

"Ms. Rodham-Clinton, I love your pantsuit.  What colors do you prefer in the Lincoln Bedroom?"

"Mr. McCain, you Nazi, how soon are you going to surrender to the peace-loving al-Queada freedom fighters in Iraq?"

As far as Ron Paul, he means well, and he has a lot of good ideas.  However, the ideological purity of the Libertarian viewpoint when it comes to legalization of pot will keep this party (and their generally good ideas) safely ensconced on the lunatic fringe of American politics.  It is unfortunate that the single candidate who is most likely to demolish the IRS (the Communist arm of the US government) is also carrying around this peace-nik, Rodney King "Can't we all just get along?" Libertarian baggage.

tpmintx...

First, the IRS is not the Communist Arm of the US Government, they are the American Gestapo with the DOJ serving as the SS.

Another viable and conservative party is the Constitution Party.

If conservatives are RIGHT, then liberals must be WRONG.
Thompson/Rice

No, But I did watch Leno!

And I sent Fred $25 today as a reward for making it official.

Watched Leno for

Watched Leno for Fred!

Saw some stuff of the debate shortly before Tonight Show started and after Thompson left.

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage
morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested,
exiled, or hanged." -Abraham Lincoln

I watched it last night.

I watched it last night. The one thing that really comes to mind is that while this GOP field is not perfect and while there are some things I don't like about some of the candidates, they are all so much better than the Dems! I know that goes without saying. That thought just kept coming to me, though. You can watch this debate and smile and applaud at many of the things that were said. Answers that often had substance, dealt with real issues, reflected good morals, showed an intelligent grasp of the subject, and expressed ideas that reflect and support love for our country and its wonderful heritage and traditions. Such a contrast from the "I'm your girl", "We need to move forward" Democrat "debates".

The part where Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee were allowed to go back and forth for a while was awesome (And they both let each other finish their sentences before replying).  If only this type of exchange was the norm for debates. Hillary wouldn't stand a chance if she actually had to debate someone like that. Instead, she'll enjoy the format where she can dodge any challenging questions or points and just use her minute to praise herself (and for all the typical non-reasons and meaningless generalities [eg. "I've worked hard as Senator", "I have a lot of experience"]).

I also loved when Duncan Hunter said when a Democrat is involved in corruption the other Dems appoint them to head committees. We need these candidates to be bold like this and take on the corrupt, hypocritical, disgusting behavior of the DemocRATS.

Hi HE... Now I don't feel

Hi HE...

Now I don't feel so alone...

heheeee...

I posted the same sentiments as you did and Cella to an extent above.

I did mention Hunter somewhere else...I agree with you.

I love Hunter...have for years now though although I know he doesn't stand a chance.

It was one of the best debates so far....the left haven't really ever had a real debate...they won't either until the candidates are nominated and they have no choice.

Hopefully that is.
