CNN Commends Gross Grocery Store Video

Impressing CNN “American Morning” co-host Kiran Chetry is apparently a fairly easy feat to accomplish.

Pretend to urinate on produce in a stock room, smack your brother in the crotch with a beet, open and lick the contents of a container on the shelf or stand with a banana sticking out of your boxer shorts and that’ll land you a segment on “American Morning.”

“All right, so now you guys – by the way it was pretty good editing,” said Chetry in an interview with Mark and Matt D’Avella, creators of the “Produce Paradise” video.

The video also took a racial jab at immigrant Mexican workers and featured a doctored grocery store advertising circular.

The parent company of the store where the video was filmed, an A&P in New Jersey, did slap the brothers with a $1 million defamation lawsuit. But only a statement from A&P parent-company Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. president and CEO Eric Claus condemning the video was offered by “American Morning.”

Still, the show with “the most news in the morning every weekday” offered advice for the two up-and-coming video producers. “You never know there could be a bright side,” said Chetry. “Maybe Kevin Federline would like to star in your next video. You guys can produce for him over there in Hollywood.”
